Selling Out At Birmingham

I still find it hard to believe that a person living outside of Leicester is equally likely to be a supporter of Leicester City as someone who lives 10 minutes away from the ground. If you're correct then only about 8,000 people who attended the Bristol City match live in Leicester.

EDIT: Also, its just occurred to me that Leeds must also have a catchment area! Clearly Leicester isn't the only city to have one, so how many does that add on to their population I wonder? Let's go with the same figure you gave for us (500,000) and up their population to 1.3 million. That puts them at a very similar level to us in terms of the proportion of people attending matches.

What Manwell Pablo said below mate. The county holds a bigger residential population than the city I'm sure. Big towns like Melton Coalville Loughborough Market Harborough and Hinckley contribute hugely to the support week in week out.

Interesting debate really because I've NEVER thought that the majority of City fans at games are actually from the city itself. It depends where you class the city as too I suppose. Is Braunstone and New Parks classed as part of it?

It would be interesting if the club could do a survey, but then I'm boring like that! lol

I'd be interested too, I like knowing that sort of information. ;)

BTW, this is the Leicester City Council map of Leicester which includes the two wards you mentioned. So I'd probably include Braunstone and New Parks when considering which areas are part of the city itself.

Hope we're not boring everyone too much with this chat about the demographic aspects of football! lol

Leicester are playing with confidence and if you go by bookmakers odds they are the favourites to win.

What isn’t helping Clark’s men are the dwindling attendances at the once-intimidating stadium.

Opponents are finding it a comfortable place to play of late and with 4,200 away fans making the short trip from the East Midlands, Saturday’s game is sure to continue that trend. In times of adversity Blues need their fantastic fans to be right behind them but it seems the only way that will happen is if results and performances pick up.

Been looking for someone who recorded the full game for ages. Bet u not still got it?

Unfortunately not mate :(. Really annoying because I can't even find the goals anywhere.

U can still buy the season review DVD from the shop. I was thinkin of emailing sky. They must have recordings

Ideal, didn't realise that. Even though we lost it was probably one of the best games I've ever been to. Definitely worth a shout.

Best ever game in a bittersweet way. The day out, the company I was with, the atmosphere, going 1 down on the night then going 3-1 up all the drama of them hitting the bar and posts then the French fcuk up.

Above all though the atmosphere. I was far too pissed to remember it, but f me it was immense. When king scored, well you just had to be there. My mate took off running across to the other side of our end to our other mates. You can see him in the split second it cuts to our fans. I dont think I've fell over and hugged and kissed so many random people in my life lol it was like how I used to be at nappy night at emporium

So proud that night yet so gutted

Yes Cardiff was a great atmosphere, it wasn't bad last week either with the Welsh and scots mixed in the home end, quite entertaining.

I have got the majority of the Cardiff game on tape but uploading it is a different matter unfortunately. Definitely one of the best games I've ever seen, epitomised the play-offs. Even though it's so heartbreaking I can't help but watch it from time to time.

Id be happy to pay for it to be uploaded onto DVD. There are firms that specialise in it

Well Mr Young has posted on Facebook that there will be over 4000 fans there for us so I would imagine he has had it direct from the club. So it looks like we have sold out, almost, maybe possibly.

What would Will Young know?

With the two week international break over, Championship action returns tomorrow afternoon as City travel to Birmingham hoping to make it six wins on the bounce.

And Nigel Pearson’s men are set for a huge backing with 4000 City fans expected to make the short trip to St Andrews.

Only a handful of tickets in the allocation remain, so if you want to join the Blue Army for the game call the Sales Centre on 0844 815 5000, email[email protected] or visit the City Fanstore NOW!

Saturday’s game has been declared ALL TICKET for away supporters, so away tickets must be purchased before 5pm on Friday as they will not be available from St Andrew’s on the day.

He's quite an authority on all things football, what he doesn't know about away followings isn't worth knowing.
