fleckneymike Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 I do hope no one assumes this is a shameless attempt to gain an extended and improved contract already.
sdb Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 obviously NP doesn't rate him...Knocky's best mate tho. hmm
Bert Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 Agreed, people are expecting way too much oh him. For 1m, in this day and age, you can be happy with 4 goals in 9 games (Wiki, not sure if this is correct). He's a team player and his work rate is higher than that of Paul Dickov and Ian Hume. He will find his feet more and more as he gets used to the game at this level. He has my faith. However, where the problem lies is goals. Our strikeforce of Nugent and Vardy isn't scoring, but do you buy a new goalscorer and drop one? I couldn't pick one to drop. What about his perfectly legitimate brace against Blackburn? Are they? He's had his settling in time now. He needs to step up and currently he's not there yet. Working hard is great, but he needs to start taking his chances. We all know it was a legit brace but the record books don't show that. What about Maradona's handball '86? A clear foul but the goal stood.
kingfox Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 Rubbish. He can finish a ball, hasn't even been given a chance and when he has he has done pretty well for himself. Pearson brought him in, now maybe getting rid is very strange. Could only mean one thing, Chris Wood!!!
StanSP Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 Unfortunate that it's not worked out here. But his agent I suppose only wants the best for his client and said client only wants to play football, which is not happening at all as much as they would have hoped for. It is perfect timing, as clubs will now be 'on alert' in the hope of signing him up in summer. The positive out of this is that we haven't lost out on any transfer fee and anything we do sell him for will be for profit. It plain and simply just hasn't worked out for him. Are we thin on the ground for strikers should he go? Nugent, Vardy, Waghorn. Schlupp also but I see him being used more as LB this season than up front. Perhaps Pearson has his sights on bringing someone else in to cover for the 3 aforementioned? Maybe bring another youth product through?
Dan Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 Bad news that is to be honest. He's not looked amazing by any means but he's not been given a fair crack at all - if a handful of sub appearances is a far crack nowadays then so be it but there've been times when we've been crying out for a big man to bring on and he's been sat on the bench. It's been quite clear for a few weeks now he isn't rated by the staff and I'm not surprised he's gonna be off. Shame as I think he's not a terrible player by any means but not a huge loss, we 100% need a forward in January though if this is the case. Good luck wherever he ends up. Unfortunate that it's not worked out here. Someone's already said it but Chris Wood, he would be absolutely perfect.
StanSP Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 He is a very highly-rated striker, but would it disrupt what the 3 already at the club have currently? Waghorn is coming in to some form right now, Nugent is top scorer and given the cost we paid for Vardy, it wouldn't be beneficial for us to drop him down the pecking order.
Dan Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 I think when you play 4-4-2 like we do and have the option of 7 subs, 4 strikers should do it. 3 is risky, Schlupp there is him of course but why move him from LB? I think we're someone like Chris Wood away from winning the title.
Deucalion Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 It'll be just like Gradel all over again!!! But seriously, the writing is probably on the wall for Futacs because as someone else has said, even when we have been crying out for a Futacs like player, he hasn't been brought on. Our manager and coaching staff are obviously not convinced, so even if he does go on to be great somewhere else, it might be better for him to move on now and make room for a replacement.
MPH Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 How did Vardy play against Sheff Wed? Im actually thinking Leeds away is a perfect game for someone like Futacs! Batter them into giving him a goal!
Bugg Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Futacs is incredibly poor in the air for a supposed "target man". Just because someone is tall doesn't automatically make them a physical presence or even a good header of the ball.
Tom17LCFC Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Loved some of his cheeky little flicks on saturday. I reckon he'll turn out to be a decent player but not here. Just hope if he does leave it doesn't unsettle Knockaert.
Mack Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Comes on, scores, gets slagged off by some fans and not selected. Sign of the times,
muzzy1981 Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 I thought he looked very good on Sat, great control, passing, powerful and he knows where the goal is, yes he prob can't jump that high but when your 6ft 6 who needs to. Great player to have on bench
Deucalion Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Why would him leaving unsettle knocky? There're best buds apparently.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 His balls are like 2 cans of coke in a tesco carrier bag apparently. Massive
bluesbrothers Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Oh hello, we're winning again, so we need to pick on someone who isn't in the first XI. FFS, he looked good coming on at Wednesday. Who the fook seriously thinks we're on the verge of getting rid? FT really does piss me off sometimes.
indierich06 Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Unlike the procession of moaners we've seen at the club over the past couple of seasons, Futacs seems to be a thoroughly professional player who is happy to get his head down, work hard and do a job when he's asked. A refreshing change.
Maybes Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Spoke to him on Saturday, he seemed happy but wants more game time to show what he can do. Yes, him and Knockaert are very decent mates.
Bettsj2 Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Why when a player is rumoured to be off, we have to have pages of the same old drivel? The management dont fancy him, frozen out, not been given a chance blah blah blah. His agent said he might want to move to get more game time. We havent used him as we havent needed to. He's come on and looked ok so what is the suggestion? We build the team around him? It aint broke at the minute so it doesnt need fixing. If Futacs cant work hard for more than 6 months without demanding a move, perhaps its best he move on as currently he's 4th choice and unless our form takes a rapid nose dive, that aint gonna change. I want him to stay as he's a useful squad member, but if his caveat for staying is being in the first team, he'll have to go and maybe Blythe becomes the target option on the bench.
Fmfox Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 I think he should get his chance tomorrow night, Vardy hasn't been on fire lately and Futacs has the experience in this league so he im sure he'd do a good job.
Lambert09 Posted 26 November 2012 Posted 26 November 2012 Does Futacs speak french then? Can't see how he could be best mates with him otherwise, well not to the extent that he would leave the club because futacs got the boot(which isn't happening anytime soon
