Futacs?

I've been wondering for a while now why he doesn't get played. In my opinion he should be our third choice striker, 6 ft 5 massive aerial threat. Does anyone remember when Portsmouth came down last year and Futacs was one of their best players? Scored a monstrous volley, and then everyone after the game says "We could do with a striker like that". We've got him so why not play him?

If you look at most of the top teams in this league they play 1 up top with width either side. Burnley have Austin, Palace have Murray, Blackburn have Nuno Gomes and Cardiff have Gestede.

It just baffles me when your 2-0 down to palace at home and we need to get back in the game, Pearson then decides to bring on Waghorn (don't get me started on that pile of $hit)? Whereas we could bring on a big guy, knock the ball up and put some pressure on them.

Opinions? (I'm new btw)

In my opinion we haven't seen enough of him, so we can't judge if he'd be good or not. I would love to see him personally when, like you said, we're 2 down and running out of options, (like against Palace) as he adds another dimension. #

I think that Pearson doesn't play him because he fears the effect that could have on a player like Vardy, who would be the only change of striker that could possibly happen due to Nugent being in good form. And that people may think him as a flop (which so far I think he is).

I don't think our strikers score enough goals as a partnership so to succumb and play 1 up top would be a poor option as it puts more preesure on him to deliver. But I don't know Futacs, he might relish the challenge...

First of all, with the style we are trying to play, a big man up front isn't the most effective, we don't need someone to flick long balls on if we aim to pass through midfield and use width.

He had a decent game against us, but that doesn't mean "we all want him". Darius Henderson scored a hat-trick for Millwall, and I doubt many wanted him to sign.

We've done ok playing two up front, our main issue is where Knockaert plays. He should be in behind a front two, rather than out on the wing. We don't need one striker if we move Knockaert (or Marshall) into the role mentioned.

If we are really desperate then throw him on, but what we've tried to do is still play the same way even if we are losing. It's commendable. The only time Futacs would be most useful is when we are sending crosses in from the wings to be attacked.

Is he better than Waghorn? We shall see. But at the moment, not convinced by either.

He was a free agent so I guess we thought 'why not?'

Because he's a foreigner, Cooling, that's why not. You need to get your mad arse down to the training ground with a protest banner and a flask of orange drink.

Head-butt, apparently he was going for a diving header but missed the ball, but on the follow through slid and caught Nige in the Crown Jewels, so he is now training with the youth squad.

Steve Walsh signing, Pearson had ony seen him play once. Doesn't rate him.

Yep.

Personally think he's better off going out on loan.

The lad showed what he can do at Pompy, so we took a cheap gamble on potential; could likely be a decent player in time.

People just scrambling for answers when our strikers fall off form, Futacs has only been here 3-4 months ffs

Oh yeah, I cant be the only one who thought he was doing MoonPig TV adverts lol

Long season and we're in 2nd place something's working but, I'm sure he'll get his chance, we're creating a lot of chances this season with the front two running their socks off, goals r coming from all areas (bar corners-.-), he'll get a go I'm sure when needed:)

Well he scored on his debut.

Bit like Francis Jeffers scored on his England debut and never played for the country again, and Nugent for that matter.

Maybe Futacs will go down there route.

He is ****ing wank, absolute ****ing wank but the less he plays the better he gets for some reason.

He's the tall kid in the primary school side, the fat bastard in junior rugby, he's ****ing wank at football but is a tall bastard.

He's a poor mans Kevin Francis and if you don't get that reference you want shooting.

He is on the bench as he's a different option, doesn't mean NP rates him. He fact he started Waghorn in Vardy's absence shows how lowly he rates Futacs.

For me the OP has a valid point.

Vardy isn't doing much, and this lad came on against Burton and scored a very good goal with his feet, so he's not a one trick pony.

The worry for me is the temptation for the team to start bypassing the midfield and just lumping it to him all the time.

If he plays there needs to be a balance.

Seems like a speculative signing to me, a bit like Moussa. Probably not good enough to be a regular first teamer, but a decent option in reserve if we have a bit of an injury crisis. At the end of the day, he's not getting game time for a reason - Pearson and his staff see the bloke day in, day out yet when Vardy was injured they still preferred the misfiring Waghorn... doesn't inspire a lot of confidence - they really mustn't rate him.

I'm surprised by the lack of action he's had, it must be that Pearson doesn't rate him that highly at the minute. We've very few alternatives to have on the bench, let alone strikers who are good in the air so that's why he is named in the matchday squad. I would like to see more of him, but I trust Nigel to a certain extent with this. I hope he goes and signs a new striker on loan next week as we've some tough games coming and if we don't maintain our good form then we could regret it come next year. Our strikeforce is worrying me massively right now.
