dmayne7 Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 Does anybody think its pretty poor that they bigged up the Kit launch so much only to give us the exact same design as the other teams wearing PUMA? I know that Reading and Watford have the same kit in essence, with the patch on the shoulder. It's not something I'm going to lose sleep over but its pretty poor that they took so long to release the design of the kit and bigged up how unique it is when it really isn't. A classic case of commercialism and clever marketing. With things looking pretty rosy on the pirch, just thought I'd moan about something as is my prerogative being a Leicester fan! I do yes but they took so long because of where to position the sponsor and Leicester badge... At least next season we have a bespoke kit. I've started a thread on here which was along the lines of. 'For the fans, by the fans'. We have some good designers on this forum and I'm thinking about seeing if the club would let us make some designs for next season. Sounds a good idea Generic kits designed by big companies are getting worse and worse, IMO this season's is one of the ugliest we've ever had, not quite as bad as the Topps Tiles one but not too far behind. There have been far better ones designed on here.

AKCJ Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 I'd like this 'by the fans for the fans' thing. Maybe if the club were to make a lot of designs for us to choose the best one. A bit like our play-off season.
Harry - LCFC Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 I know that Reading and Watford have the same kit in essence, with the patch on the shoulder. + Sheffield Wednesday. I hate the idea of having a template kit too. It takes away the uniqueness of a football club. You'll never see a top Premier League team with one of these template kits because they're regarded as more important than the rest, really annoys me. Or because they have more money, or longer standing kit deals, or can make the manufacturer more money.

Was quality over the summer, looking at all the kits people threw into the mix. I'm sure they did it a few years back where children could the design the kit and we had some say in the 125 anniversary kit but it would make more sense to poll the best designs as the club is likely to see an increase in the shirt sales plus it would improve the owner/fan relationship if people felt that had a say in some things. Harry - LCFC Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 Or because they have more money, or longer standing kit deals, or can make the manufacturer more money. My point still stands. I hate the concept of my club being left with a template kit making them appear less important than others. In addition, its not as if all Football League clubs have template kits which demonstrates how easy it would be for us to avoid the detestable things - Luton Town in the conference, for example, do not have a template kit. Did they sway their manufactures with the prospect of huge sums of money? I hardly think so.

Anything to increase the influence the fans have over the club can only be a good thing. Red away kit please.

Bettsj2 Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 Personally I dont care if another club has the same design. In fact, I dont really care about the kit at all. I'm leaving this thread actually. Sorry for intruding.
adamrwood Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 Is it next season the bespoke kit comes out? Didnt know if to get my son the kit for xmas or wait til his birthday in january. The price will come down in the new year if they change it so will wait if it is!
StanSP Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 The time it took to release the kit is proportionate to the time it took for you to make this thread after said kit launch.

Kitchandro Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 What were the other 2 crap ideas? One was 'Blue Army' and I think another might have been 'Foxes Never Quit'...?
Fox42 Posted 5 December 2012 Share Posted 5 December 2012 I'd like a maroon/dark red and white away kit. After all, it is the city's colours.
My Nads Posted 6 December 2012 Share Posted 6 December 2012 For me it's not so much the design of the kit, it's the shade of blue. I think the darker blue/navy we've had in the passed looked better. The Italian blue looks good as well.
Jace Posted 6 December 2012 Share Posted 6 December 2012 One was 'Blue Army' and I think another might have been 'Foxes Never Quit'...? Yeah that was it mate! I really like the Puma kits don't mind it being a template as long as it is a decent
