I've been hunting for someone we could sign on loan to help out up top and have come up with John Guidetti.

At Man City

Young, talented, scored 20 in 23 on loan at Feyenoord last season.

Full Swedish International.

Needs games.

City wont want to loan him to another prem club.

Seems ldeal to me.

Linked with Sunderland today. Doubt it would happen.

Why not?

We are at the sharp end of the Championship and the lad has been injured and needs games.

Seems a great idea to me.

As you said he banged 20 in 23 games and is a full Swedish international. City know that he can star at this level, they want to test how he can handle the Premier League. Majority of my family are from Manchester and my Uncle is an avid City fan he told me Feyenoord enquired about signing him permanently and City essentially laughed at them. That's how highly rated he is there. He won't be dropping to the Championship. Fact.

Why didn't you put this in the 'Ineteresting January?' thread?

His name has come up hundreds of times before, we've never been linked to him as far as I can remember.

I was looking at him on FIFA 13 ;) I think we need a young LB as well for next season so he can get some experience with the current squad. I'm thinking Jack Robsinson from Liverpool.

Well if he's so incredible how come he's not making any progress towards the Man City team? He can't rot away in the reserves forever.

He's injured. And I suppose when he's fit he's still only their 5th striker.

He got a virus in April when he got back from Holland which almost made him paralysed. He's been out since then. He's only 20 and the strikers in front of him at the club are Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko. Need I say anymore?

Well the injury/illness is fair enough, so we can only speculate on whether he'd have been involved or not, but if he really was all that he should have seen some Carling Cup minutes and places on the bench. Then there's my own view that if he was half-decent he should have supplanted Balotelli, who, superb penalty-taking abilities aside, I find to be grossly overrated and a complete liability, but I know I've got little company there.

He hasn't played since April. He almost lost the use of his legs because of the illness. Basically had to learn to walk again. So how do you expect him to pick up some Carling Cup minutes?

Yes, I heard you the first time, and said it was a fair enough reason for having not done anything.

He's been playing for Feyenoord and would get into a lot of Prem and clubs in other top European leagues. Why would he come to us?

Also, why wouldn't he be allowed to go on loan to another Prem club?

He's been on loan at a club who finished 2nd in the top Dutch division last year scoring 20 goals in the process.....
