I can assure you that plenty of people accused of crimes such as Watkins face are acquitted, a vast amount rightly so.

Although I've been well informed by Lisa, I still think there's something substantial behind it all. It's not that Watkins has been just accused. It's the fact he's been charged as well as refused bail. I know that's probably not all technically correct and could be being very naive about it all, but I think in this instance there really is no smoke without fire.

Just because the Police and Crown Prosecution Service believe that there is a 'realistic prospect of conviction' does not mean that he will be found guilty by a jury at trial, or even that the Crown Prosecution Service won't review their case and change their mind. People can be refused bail for a number of reasons. These can include their own safety, fear of fleeing the country, etc. A reason to refuse bail is not a reason to convict.

I think (don't know) there needs to be an overact in this country, so a likely example would be that Watkins had payed the 24 year old woman to allow him to erm, do whatever to her one year child, and money had change hands before the arrest. Purely hypothetical obviously as he hasn't even been found guilty.

Well that will be difficult to prove, but they are also alleged to have found pornographic images of children on his computer, if true then regardless of the conspiracy to rape, which if provable I have no problem with it being a crime, we shouldn't wait until after the act in cases like this, he will be sent down. Possibly why he has been refused bail too, if they have his computer then it will be a fairly easy conviction on owning child pornography not sure how easy conspiracy to rape is though. I really do hope this all turns out to not be true, not least because I am fan of the Lost Prophets, but also because I am a human being and do not wish any child to be subjected to this, unfortunately though the evidence looks pretty strong.

Ian Watkins, 35, of Pontypridd, appeared via video link at Cardiff Crown Court from Parc Prison, Bridgend. Wearing a black suit, shirt and tie Mr Watkins appeared along with two other female defendants who cannot be named for legal reasons. They were remanded further until 11 March. Mr Watkins faces a charge of conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child under 13 and four offences relating to possession and distribution of indecent images of children. The alleged offences date from May to December this year. A 24-year-old woman has been charged with the same offences as Mr Watkins, while a 20-year-old woman is charged with five of the same offences but not conspiracy to rape.

You can't rehabilitate him (and doesnt even deserve that), you can't kill him, you can't change his sexuality. You can't lock him up for life. Wtf do we do? Do we really have to let him out again to rape another kid to prove we are 'civilised'? Let's hope either he does himself or someone else does him while he is inside. As for the mother of the child, I don't think anyones action have ever left me more sickened, whatever happens to you inside isn't gruesome or deserving enough.

Disagree on the general point, Paedophilia is generally considered to be not about sexual attraction, but rather power and domination exerted through sexual acts. It is not considered to be a sexual preference. Whether or not they can be rehabilitated in general, I don't really know, I'd like to think so, but this is not a sexuality and is not comparable with straight/gay/bisexual.

You can say that it is about power and control, but I can't imagine normal people finding raping a baby to be a sexually pleasurable activity.

It is studies I have heard of and read about, generally abuse is born out of abuse, and this is clearly abuse of a child. The pictures are of abuse of a child. The studies show they get off on the abuse and are not sexually attracted to children. When you look at porn you are being turned on by the idea of the naked woman, of being with and touching the naked woman. A paedophile will look at images of abuse and imagine it is them doing the abusing, it is not about being sexually attracted to children it is not about sex, it is about power and abuse manifested through sexual gratification. It is not a sexual persuasion like homosexuality, but a sexual perversion, it is similar to the Jamie Bulger case, they didn't sexual abuse him because they were attracted to him, they did it because they were fvcked up.

I suspect to keep hold of this man she's reluctantly decided to let him have his way, which in my book makes her worse than him. She knows it's wrong but lets it happen for her own selfish reasons.
