leicesterlad1989 Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Breaking Bad is amazing. Nearly finished series 4. Been trying to take my time with it abit as I don't want it to end too soon and be without a good series to watch. As my dad's a chemist I've been asking him to secretly teach me how to "cook"...joking of course
Finnegan Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 To everyone that wants something new and enjoys The Wire, Breaking Bad, Band of Brothers and other heavy, character driven shows I have two words. Generation Kill. From the makers of the Wire it's about First Recon at the beginning of the Iraq war. One of the best bits of TV of all time and comfortably the best modern war piece ever done. Very faithful to life. Rudy Reyes even plays himself as a Marine sniper.

Finnegan Posted 5 February 2013 Posted 5 February 2013 They only made 7 episodes?! I enjoyed the Strikeback series so will give this ago as well if i can find it. It's a mini series, completely self contained, based on a book. It only needed seven episodes. Trust me, it's fantastic and if you like war films / drama then it's unmissable. That it went by with almost no fanfare or acclaim while that God awful bomb disposal film got wanked over left, right and center is a travesty.
Guest MattP Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 Breaking Bad Monopoly for anyone who wants to play. Great Idea. http://www.methopoly.com/
absolutelegend Posted 21 February 2013 Author Posted 21 February 2013 On it! Roll on the summer for three last eight episodes :-)
Houdini Logic Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 I got about 4 episodes into the first series and wasn't really grabbed. 'Give it another go' or 'if you don't like it after that it's not for you'?

'Give it another go' or 'if you don't like it after that it's not for you'? Give it another go. First series wasn't great, more like setting the table. (thought I loved it still) Two was very good, Three was absolutely superb, Four somehow even better, Five I just can't wait for the end.
foxfanazer Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 Yeah I sort of had to stick with it after a fairly slow start. On the second series now and I'm gripped. Still have to say I prefer prison break up to now but it's is very good
GLC Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 I've finished watching them all, Spoiler The dinner scene in series 5 is really funny!

goose2010 Posted 22 February 2013 Posted 22 February 2013 season 5 starts on 15th july actually can not wait!
absolutelegend Posted 22 February 2013 Author Posted 22 February 2013 Thought pinkman's acting i that scene was awesome.
DB11 Posted 22 February 2013 Posted 22 February 2013 Watched Season 1 on my iPad but poor quality and slow connection... however really enjoyed it so I've just bought the boxet for season 1-4 and will get 5 when that's out too!
Finnegan Posted 22 February 2013 Posted 22 February 2013 im up too- " Stay out of my territory" That, along with the legendary "one who knocks" outburst is one of my favourite Heisenberg moments. It helps that that song (TV On The Radio - DLZ) is a top tune.
MooseBreath Posted 22 February 2013 Posted 22 February 2013 Finished season 4 last week. Want to wait until the whole of s5 is out before I start it but not sure if I can resist. Each series better than the one before. S4 was explosive

Each series better than the one before. S4 was explosive The first half of S5 is fairly self contained, like a mini series in itself. You could comfortably breeze through that and then enjoy the big cliff hanger for a couple of months before it concludes. I did and I don't feel at a loss. It's worth the watch.

Yep, some absolutely fantastic moments in Series 5 as well, one scene brings me to tears. Just because you shot Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James
Finnegan Posted 22 February 2013 Posted 22 February 2013 Season four still has the best though. "I am not in danger, Skyler, I AM the danger..." etc.
Guest MattP Posted 22 February 2013 Posted 22 February 2013 "I am THE ONE who knocks" Pure brilliance.
stix Posted 22 February 2013 Posted 22 February 2013 Skyler "Walt? Did you do this?" Walt "It's over. We're safe" Skyler "W..wh...what happened?" Walt "I won."
stix Posted 22 February 2013 Posted 22 February 2013 Mikes speech about when he was a beat cop & went to a domestic violence call is quality but it's far too long to quote!
