eye666 Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Do we need another defender? Or is this a case of "big-spending Leicester" added to any player that becomes available? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11712/8409002/West-Brom-defender-Craig-Dawson-looks-set-to-for-a-loan-move-to-the-Championship Meant to be a very decent player though...
kingfox Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 We have Keane so we don't need this lad, even though he is a very good prospect.
JayPittardBlueatheart Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 I really want us to spash out and buy this lad, Keane has already said he does not want to stay with us permanently ( I can't blame him tbh) so why not? then w can lose Zak Whitbread
Carl the Llama Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 If this happens and we go up I think we should all adopt WBA as our 2nd team.
Jimmy Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 we only have Keane til the end of the month, though the player has expressed a desire to stay for the season, SSL can't get fit, Whitbread can't seem to stay fit, leaving just Liam Moore as cover and he has to cover right back too
Munshi Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 we only have Keane til the end of the month, though the player has expressed a desire to stay for the season, SSL can't get fit, Whitbread can't seem to stay fit, leaving just Liam Moore as cover and he has to cover right back too Keane till the end of the season mate.
Jimmy Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Keane till the end of the season mate. wrong it was extended until the end of the month only
Munshi Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 wrong it was extended until the end of the month only Not sure
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 I say every season we should sign him. Good defender. Still young. Would be spot on next to Big Wes.
Simmo86 Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Keane till the end of the season isn't done yet. This is probably just a backup option
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Would be a good signing. Get him Pearson.
ealingfox Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Think I'd rather have Keane til the end of the season if poss
Happy Fox Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 We don't need him, we have Keane on loan and hopefully that can be extended till the end of the season and St Ledger and Whibread to come back from injury I would say we are fairly covered in that department.
Guest Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 We don't need him, we have Keane on loan and hopefully that can be extended till the end of the season and St Ledger and Whibread to come back from injury I would say we are fairly covered in that department. I'd like to get keane (I realise that's very very unlikely) or another good quality back permanantly. Zac does seem to have injury issues as does SSL and I'm not sure either of them will be worth keeping WHEN we get promoted.
FoxLAD Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 I'd rather keep keane on loan for now, but if their is an opportunity to get dawson on a perm deal after the loan? i'd say bring him in.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 I'd be very, very pleased with this (only at the right price, though), especially if we could keep Keane too - the strength we'd have at CB would be unreal. Have a word, Chris.
Bryn Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Can't believe people don't want him, he's a class player, and he'd be more likely to belong to us in the future, unlike Keane who I like but will not become our player permanently.
Uncle Phil Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 I really want us to spash out and buy this lad, Keane has already said he does not want to stay with us permanently ( I can't blame him tbh) so why not? then w can lose Zak Whitbread Where'd he say that?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Where'd he say that? I don't think he said that in as many words - just that he wants to break into the United squad as a primary goal.
FoxLAD Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 Where'd he say that? in a interview with Sky Sports News, wants to copy the success of Tom Cleverly.
Uncle Phil Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 I don't think he said that in as many words - just that he wants to break into the United squad as a primary goal. Righto, I think that's fair enough really.
Guest Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 in a interview with Sky Sports News, wants to copy the success of Tom Cleverly. It's good news that everyone knows Cleverly learnt his trade with us.
deep blue Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 We don't need him, we have Keane on loan and hopefully that can be extended till the end of the season and St Ledger and Whibread to come back from injury I would say we are fairly covered in that department. But if the loan extension doesn't come off then that changes the situation completely, especially as we have no idea how long in reality it's going to take before St Ledger & Whitbread are back to match fitness (or how injury-free they'll be for the rest of the season).
MPH Posted 19 January 2013 Posted 19 January 2013 we only have Keane til the end of the month, though the player has expressed a desire to stay for the season, SSL can't get fit, Whitbread can't seem to stay fit, leaving just Liam Moore as cover and he has to cover right back too Wonder if we will loan out someone like Zak or SSL to get a few good games under their belt if this happens... build up their match fitness, like...
