Storming Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Am I missing Something, It said on Radio Leicester, Sky and twitter all day that the game was on, I left home extra 30 mins earlier than I normally would and parked in the my normal place about and went for a pint and got to the ground about 7.30pm. Another reel fan not once did LCFC say the game would not go ahead
whoareyaaa Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 I think anyone supporting Leicester is a REAL fan, its not like we've been winning major trophies for the last 20 years. idiots. I've had a season ticket for 13/14 years, every year... up until 3 seasons ago, now for a few different reasons I not able to attend every game and have only been able to make it a few times this season, does this make you a better fan than me?
kingfox Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Seems like the club are somewhat trying to make amends to the ones offended by the Middlesboro situation: Wolves Season Ticket Holder Offer King Power Stadium should be rocking for the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers later this month, thanks to an exclusive offer for City Season Ticket Holders. To reward the fantastic support of the Club’s most loyal supporters, Season Ticket Holders and Second-Half Season Ticket Holders will be able to purchase up to six additional tickets for the game on Thursday 31 January, from just £15 per ticket. The offer, which could save Season Ticket Holders over £100 based on regular ticket prices for a Gold Fixture, is valid in any part of the stadium* and if you want to sit with your guests, we can arrange for your Season Ticket to be relocated for the game.** So whether you’re bringing the family along or arranging a night out for your mates, make sure you’re at King Power Stadium to see the latest episode of the Foxes’ quest to reach the Premier League! To take advantage of this fantastic offer, visit the City Fanstore during normal opening times or call the City Sales Centre on 0844 815 5000. *Additional tickets in B and J Block will be priced £20 each. Additional Fosse Club tickets will be priced £30 each. All other areas will be priced £15. **Subject to any increase in price for a higher-value area of the stadium. Offer not available online. http://www.lcfc.com/...fer-611570.aspx That offer isn't because hardly anybody made it to the Middlesbrough game. It's for all season ticket holders and second half season ticket holders, so therefore I can take my Dad which is pretty good.
Storming Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Not at all but then im not the one moaning about missing a match
Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 FFS stop trying to take the moral high ground, If i can make it from east goscote in 2 hours then what the **** stopped everyone else, or are we suggesting that most of the support for our club lives even further away than me, baring in mind I had to get home from work in Melton before I could even set off for the game. I'm not the one slating other fans for not trying, so I will take the highground on people proclaiming that just because they made it every other fecker should as well. Well I work in Syston not far from you and the traffic in this area was absolutely fine so I'm not surprised you get home easily. The problems started closer to town. Unlike you I was on the bus and had to travel directly through the city centre on two buses to get to wigston, the comute from the centre to home is what killed most peoples hopes of getting there. If I lived in east goscote it would have been a piece of piss for me. Quick wizz up the road, get ticket, get changed venture towards the ground and walk a bit. The club aren't responsible, but they said they were talking to police. And as mentioned already, they don't allow tigers and city to play at home because of congestion. So I would be shocked if the police had not advised city to cancel, if they went against that advice then the blame is back on them. As already stated I believe the game could and should have been pulled long before people left out. Once you get to the point of having people there it is too late I agree. All I think the club should do is just act with a big of common decency and give something no matter how small. Season ticket holders like me are sorted we can trade tickets. Those who spend £20 get nothing, I think that's unfair. Even if it was £5 off another ticket, a free beer they never had at the game. It's just a gesture of good will, good PR call it what you want.

Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Babylon - I still dont understand why you didn't get off the bus in Leicester and walk to the game from there. I didn't have my ticket, no I didn't have ID I don't carry my passport around. I'd been to work, I was not dressed to sit outside for 2 hours and was not wearing footwear I could walk from Melton Road to the ground in, and then from the ground to Wigston after the game. People go on about planning ahead, I've done the tip in worse snow than that and it's not taken 4 hours to get home. How can you predict the kind of chaos. I don't know why it was worse than it ever has been, unique circumstances of certain roadworks, schools, business etc closing early, shit drivers. I dunno. The club don't owe anything, like I said it's good PR to show people they do actually give a shit. I get my ticket exchange I'm not that fussed, feel extremely sorry for others stuck in it who get nothing back. Or even the free bloody beer.

It wasn't a piece of piss, thats the point. As for pulling it before people set off, are we blaming this on the weather, which was ok up until about 1pm, or the fact that town became a mess at 4 or 5pm? in which case we are meant to pull out of a game after, boro have set off and sky have come to set up and our own support traveling from suffolk, cambs, london and anywhere else has prob also set off? and my original point remains, I'm not against people choosing not to make it or those who tried but failed, just the after the event moaning as if they are hard done too, most of them prob got to sit in the warm and have a drink, I got to freeze my toes off, almost literally. If the club as they now have want to make a show of good will, it should be to those who got there.
Storming Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Babylon 18,841 posts how many worth reading ? if you got off your keybard an hour earlier on Friday you might have made the match .Try and pick a decent REEL next time ;-)

goose2010 Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 good job another 10 thousand didnt decide to make it, potentially another 2 and a half thousand cars minimum on the roads even less would of made the kick off if at all!
dynamark Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Blimey calm lads couple of points Game was always on Everyone had a choice based on individual circumstance work etc None of us know how many match day ticket holders were unable to attend-however a gesture to them would be excellent for future Well done to those who made it and made some noise Season ticket holders have a little recourse Egg chasers is irrelavant sunday afternon no traffic or work No worries right result but a gesture from the club would go a long way
Corky Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Some season ticket holders might've not bothered going due to TV and the weather but I doubt those who bought a single match ticket gave up too easily. Just keeping the offer for the Wolves or the one after that would do, so people who couldn't get there don't miss out on the offer. They can't do a refund obviously as the game went ahead, but good PR is important and a gesture wouldn't harm them.

Bus pass? Look I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just don't see how you ended up going within a mile of the ground and saying that you couldn't get there. It was do-able, you just chose not to. It doesn't make you any better or worse a fan and the whole business must have been ridiculously frustrating, but the club does not owe you or anybody else anything. I had to leave 15 minutes early to get my train because kick off was delayed - should I get something because I decided catching my train was more important than watching the end of the game? Of course not. I'm just grateful that there was a game to watch. Ultimately what I'm saying is that you and many others COULD have made it but CHOSE not to because it was the right decision for them for safety or other reasons. This is something that has been nonsensically ridiculed by others on this thread - it's your choice and anybody accusing you of not being a "proper fan" is frankly a dick given the difficulties for many in getting there. But the club cannot be held responsible for this and owe nobody in this case.

Ok, if I potentially wanted to get there a) without a ticket b) with clothing I could probably have frozen to death wearing and c) in shoes that aren't brilliant when walking on the pavement let alone snow and ice for 8 miles, I could potentially have got there barring death. That's not really an option though is it? I've not said they owe anyone anything, I've said it's good PR to give a gesture. I wouldn't expect anyone to get any kind of refund. As a season ticket holder I'm covered, I get ticket exchange. It wouldn't hurt them to offer people with unused tickets the same (we have 8000 spare seats after all) or at least their free shitty beer and pie or a fiver off another game or something. It's not like it was a small number of people, it's 12,000 + people we're talking about here, a rather large chunk of the fan base.
blueharmie Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 anyone who thinks the club give a shit about fans piss of out of this thread. money grabbing bastards. no way that game should have been played! 8k fans in stead if 20k? disgusting treatment from leicester city football club.
danny. Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 I've surmised from this thread, there is a good chance Babylon works for EazyTiger?

Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 Should of checked the weather forecast mate. And what shoes did you flaming wear, sandals? I checked the weather, hence why I left work at 3pm. How many times does this need saying?
fleckneymike Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 What 'gesture' would people who didn't attend like the club to make?
Babylon Posted 21 January 2013 Posted 21 January 2013 I've surmised from this thread, there is a good chance Babylon works for EazyTiger? Not far away from me, but no.
