Fox92 Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 Harry is a good manager, no doubt about that. The transfer fees, as well as wages, seem to be very high but he has had a month to basically get better quality in, because it seems Hughes just brought any player he wanted, regardless of fees... Rob Green is a fine example of that.
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 yeah that might make the samba deal back, but what about the rest of there squads wages? QRP's wage a week i bet is about 8-10mill a week. Teams like QPR are everything that is wrong with the premier league. Think about what your saying. 8 million a week, That's 80 fking players on 100,000 a week
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 Think that wage guess might be a touch high. But yes I bet it runs pushing 1.5 million a week which is still horrendous over the course of a season! More like it but I bet even that's a way out, that's still 15 earning 100,000 a week. If your pulling 60 mill a season from the Premier League TV alone, it aint a issue anyway.

Alexikokopops Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 I am absolutely over the moon that we didn't end up getting this absolute crook in to run our club. 100K a week for Samba? He's spending money like it's going out of fashion at QPR without even really improving the quality of the players, it's just obscene. You have to say, it's probably shit or bust for QPR now. He seems to be spending even more recklessly now than he did while he was at Portsmouth. QPR are everything that is wrong with football at the minute and I would love it if they went down this season because they would be ****ed. It will take one big club going to the wall to finally wake up the footballing world to the fact that they can't keep doing this. This may have already been covered but didn't Tony Fernandes sort out the financials of the Samba deal? According to Redknapp at least. He's still an ass, mind.
goose2010 Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 haha yeah my bad, maths was never a strong point! still ridiculous though.
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 It's a pretty big issue, that would mean you -18million a year after TV money just on wages. Aint a massive amount is it. Dunno what they charge in tickets but if it's an average of say £30 (it'll be more) 18,000 thats 10 million. Premier League prize money which is in the millions, FA Cup and League Cup money, Sponsor deals which will run into millons, mechandising etc. You'd run a profit easy, if you didn't chuck money around, which I doubt they'll stop doing.

I was guessing the wages outlay for players, playing staff, coaches, manager, office staff etc. But like the other poster says. thats still 78 million a year in wages.
Babylon Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 Aint a massive amount is it. It's a lot when you aren't guaranteed to stay there!

I dont think its as easy as that. Look at Villa, they had a bit of a spending spree a few years back, and even though they have been ever presents in the Prem, it looks now like they dont have a pot to piss in and a poorish squad to go with it

Still reckon it'd be less than 1.5 Million a week. I'd be suprised if anyone at QPR is on anything like that Samba is on. Hence why people are reacting to this they way they are. It's a lot when you aren't guaranteed to stay there! Indeed that is the problematic part, but then, you'd see a lot of players leave in that case I think. As has been said, Remy and Samba would probably be off the wage bill before the R had appeared next to QPR's name
AKCJ Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 I like Redknapp, I like the way he sets his sides up and the way he conducts the media. However, I wouldn't want him anywhere near my wallet if I was a club's chairman.
Guest MattP Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 You wonder how so Premier League clubs are in debt considering a 80million wage bill shouldnt be a problem.

Villa have had several big spending years with little reward, plus, Villa will have bee receiving at least 20 million less a year than QPR stand to if they can stay up. They would be absloutley fine in the Premier League with a wage bill of 1.5 million, and it wont be that high anyway.
Guest MattP Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 The reported fee and wage deal for Samba over 4.5 yrs is more than the entire annual club wage bill of Swansea. Some clubs just do it right don't they?
whoareyaaa Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 36 Million over 4 years for Samba what a load of shit. Shouuld of gone in for Bamba.
Guest MattP Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 Shouuld of gone in for Bamba. £18million and £300k a week. Worth it if they stay up.
whoareyaaa Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 £18million and £300k a week. Worth it if they stay up. I wonder who else they have got lined up can imagine a few last minute deals. again at silly money
Babylon Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 £18million and £300k a week. Worth it if they stay up. Don't be crazy... it's not Sven in charge.
21st Century Fox Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 QPR boss Harry Redknapp speaking to Sky Sports News about the signing of defender Chris Samba: "He's right up there with the best and was at the top of my list. The chairman said 'I've got you a centre half'. I couldn't believe it when he said it was Chris Samba. The chairman takes all the credit for that deal." 'arry making sure his arse is covered when it goes tits up.
Guest MattP Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 The man has no shame whatsoever, how has he got away with it for so long. He's football's Jimmy Savile, pulled the wool over everyone's eyes for years, he just rapes a club's bank balance and fans, rather than children.
whoareyaaa Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 Peter Crouch is linked with them as well, won't be cheap I bet.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 £12m for Samba, £8m for Remy plus their combined weekly wage of £180k over the corse of 1 year is £30m!!!! Administration looms if they don't stay up.....
Guest MattP Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 ‘I don’t want to spend the owners’ money really. I’ve got to be honest with you. I don’t want to see the owners have their pants taken down like they have in the past. A lot of agents have made an awful lot of money out of them. I fined a player (Jose Bosingwa) last week and he was earning more than anybody at Tottenham, so that tells you everything. ‘We’ve got a stadium that holds 18,000 people and shouldn’t be paying big wages. Newcastle’s ground holds 55,000 and I bet you most of their players won’t be earning what our players are. So that is a problem.’ Harry Redknapp, December 2012.
