Harry - LCFC Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 I saw an article in the most recent edition of FFT magazine which some may find quite amusing. It's about an American called Wesley Hall whose name on twitter is @bigwes When Wes Morgan made his 400th appearance for Forest, Wesley Hall was bombarded with tweets from supporters, who mistook him for our current captain, congratulating him on the achievement. He then explained their mistake to them but has since become a Nottingham Forest due to the friends he made on twitter. They even bought and sent him a BigWes5 shirt! He intends to go to his first ever Forest game this season on May 4th.
foxfanazer Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Gotta get "there's only one big wes" chant going there then
whoareyaaa Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 May the 4th, isn't that the day we get promoted? least he will get to watch a team full of class.
Simmo86 Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Thought he'd already been over for a game. I remembe them making a big deal about it on Twitter
Kitchandro Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 He'll be a bit confused when he sees his namesake wearing a blue shirt and scoring in the wrong net. Hopefully then he'll see the error of his ways and follow the good Lord Westley Morgan wherever he goes. Thou shalt not worship false teams.
Guest MattP Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Brilliant artticle. The man is so Georgia, American it's incredible. I was at my house eating peanut butter sandwiches.
HEGGSY Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 I like the caption on Morgans photo..."The original Big Wes, no longer missed at Forest" Yeh, okay then...
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 February 2013 Author Posted 6 February 2013 I like the caption on Morgans photo..."The original Big Wes, no longer missed at Forest" Yeh, okay then... Yeah, that bit's clearly total shite! As if they wouldn't want club legend and best CB in the league Wes Morgan in their back four.

Hopefully then he'll see the error of his ways and follow the good Lord Westley Morgan wherever he goes. Thou shalt not worship false teams. He's well aware of Wes' wise decision to move on to bigger things. But he decided not to switch allegiances for some unknown reason (although I suppose that is the most fundamental law of being a football fan, one club and you stick with it). However, that's not going to stop me trying to convince him that he should be cheering on the boys in blue in early May!
BoneDog Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 He's in for a good atmosphere. Away fans'll impress him.
Voll Blau Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 Reminds me of the @The_Ashes tweets going on during the cricket a couple of years back... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/9340921.stm
Alexikokopops Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 But he decided not to switch allegiances for some unknown reason I'd say he didn't switch allegiances because he became a Forest fan because of the friends he made on Twitter (as a result of the Big Wes mix up) rather than because of Wes himself. I haven't the foggiest where I got that idea from though... He then explained their mistake to them but has since become a Nottingham Forest due to the friends he made on twitter. They even bought and sent him a BigWes5 shirt!
Carl the Llama Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 So some forest fans see a guy called BigWes on twitter and, seeing that he's black, proceed to miss the fact that he looks very little like Wes Morgan? He then makes friends with them?
Kitchandro Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 So some forest fans see a guy called BigWes on twitter and, seeing that he's black, proceed to miss the fact that he looks very little like Wes Morgan? He then makes friends with them? No I think they all tweeted '@bigwes', which just happens to be his hashtag name (I dunno what twitter people call it) so all the messages came up on his feed. Although your explanation is quite plausible considering it's Forest fans
Out Foxed Posted 6 February 2013 Posted 6 February 2013 let's make his trip as miserable as possible.
Adster Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 May the 4th, isn't that the day we get promoted? least he will get to watch a team full of class. Don't be silly... We'll be promoted already by then
