Oscar Pistorius

Why the need to go in to so much detail here, for instance the entire history of Pistorius' relationship with Steenkamp? Isn't that all part of the trial, rather than a bail hearing? Surely this should be about whether or not he will do a runner?

Not surprised, prosecution case described as 'weak' by the Courts.

Hilton Botha lol

Why would anyone pleade guilty to anything these days? Even if you are 100% guilty you have a chance of the state fcuking it up or a jury being so incompetent you will cause a mistrial.

Chris Huhne must be kicking himself.

He'll be in the cricket team soon.

He's now got a cricket bat, two stumps and a bail.

Not been liking the Pistorius jokes, but had to laugh at that one.

I can't understand why people believe he's going to get off with nothing but a slap on the wrist, simply because he's been granted bail. The conditions of bail are fairly strict, and it is fairly substantially down to Botha and other flaws in the prosecutions argument not being presented correctly, rather than innocence on Pistorious' part.

You have a pretty good chance I think when the judge presiding over it has already declared the state's evidence as 'weak' and the chief prosecutor is being removed as he is on an attemped murder charge himself.

Not saying he's going to be found Not Guilty, but this has some sort of collapse or mistrial written all over it.

Have they brought back trial by jury in South Africa yet?

True, and should he not be granted bail it would suggest rather more substantially that he was going to be found guilty. However, there is still a lengthy trial to come in the summer, with possible new evidence to be brought up. The magistrate also stated that the defences arguments had many flaws in too. Lets put it this way, it would be on a scale with the OJ verdict should be get anything less than a hefty custodial manslaughter sentence. Personally I think he'll still be liable for murder. And I don't think there is a jury still, could be wrong however.

I think it's ridiculous he got bail. Admittedly I've not been keeping up with the story, but it seems pretty clear he shot his wife four or five times.

I heard that he shot her through a bathroom door after he'd shouted at her to get out. Surely she would have just shouted back 'It's me you f*&kin gimp' and there would have been no need for him to fire.

i bet if he was a black south african he would have not got bail. string the ****er up for good but they will not he will get off. if that is so i hope someone puts a bullet through his head

It's got nothing to do with his race and everything to do with his ability to pay for a good lawyer.

Some of the stuff on page 4 is absolutely disgraceful and should be taken down. Using the word "reportedly" doesn't excuse making accusations that weren't brought up by the prosecution in court.

Also, being granted bail does not equate to "getting off". In all probability he'll be doing a stint in jail; the only question is how long.

Just saw a report on the news and no f*&ker mentioned the lady who got shot. Seemed like a big PR exercise for poor old Pretorius. Shocking.

If this was someone without money or fame they'd be vilifying the willy puller.

Agreed, especially the first line. If a normal person like me or you would have done this, we would be in prison, end of. The bail thing is unfair, he is a muderer, get him inside!

He has admitted to shooting her. I can't get my head around how he can be released on parole.

I definitely don't understand why he would expect her family to meet him.
