If he was wearing those blades in bed and ended up lying on his back, it would have caused the sheets to obscure his view of who came into the room. I used to have the similar problem as a teenager when LiveTV was going strong.

Best to be all sombre and upset about it, despite not knowing either party. No amount of not joking about it or pretending to be upset or taking offence on someone else's behalf is going to bring her back. Trying to think of a joke about 3 false starts and then finally getting away cleanly?

No one is saying that the occurrence is hilarious. We joke about it because it is human nature. To many it is actually a coping mechanism in life. Many, many, many people die either day so you getting all precious about this one that you don't know is a bit bizarre.
