How many games have you played?

Recommended Posts

Just worked out that a guesstimate puts me at about 600 (proper, outdoor, official) that includes as a kid etc.

Indoor would probably add another 300?

All just guestimates... but,

how many have you played?

how long do you think you will play for?

Interesting topic well i have played every season from under 10's and still playing now (just turned 29) and in all honesty i'm about done i think, it takes too long to recover these days. So 20 year 'Career' would put me around the 600 mark including playing for 3 school teams to. Probably scored 20 in that time played centre back all my 'career' been booked about 8-10 times sent off twice (still say neither were reds!!) Tempted to try and improve my fitness over the summer and give it one more season to see me into my 30's

interesting topic.

like Goose, i have played since i was 9 every season and i'm now 26. say 20 per season *average* although in 2009 i did my ACL so probably only played about 10. used to play 5 a side thursdays and 5 a side sundays at lough uni a while back so in total i'd guess around the 400 mark.

i'd like to play as long as possible, some fellas in CSKA Carnabys are 50+ and still decent athletes.

try and keep it going as long as possible mate. If you don't use it you lose it lol

I played for a team when I was 16 and there were two blokes in their late 40's in the team and they were the fittest (no homo) there

Not sure to be honest, a lot though. Especially if including 5 a side which I've played twice a week every week near enough for about 5 years.

Been playing Saturday and Sunday 11's for 2 years so counting friendlies there's probably more than 60 games there in two years. I'd guess about 250 as it was a bit sporadic when I was younger (played Rubgy as well)

Got a few years ahead of me yet though so hopefully should manage a fair few more yet, although it's looking highly unlikely I'll play 2 games a weekend again. It aches muchos now.

Have played 1 90 minute outside game in my life. Hated it, cold, boring, muddy. Wasnt for me.

However, I've probably played over a thousand indoor 5 a side league games since i started at 15

You would definitely be a Footballer who wouldn't come out..

Everything you've just said about Football and not liking it, that's some of the main reasons we all play.

I have been playing 11-a-side for 2 years prior to this one, about 40 games per season so around 90-95 including this season, as well as about 50 5-a-side games, possibly nearer to 80 5-a-side id say about 150 games played

Would quite like my own Wiki article outlining my 'career' appearances and goals scored :D

Played 11-a-side from the age of 6 til I was 12, in ~10 team leagues, so that's approximately 25 games a season including the cup and friendlies. So roughly 125 there. Then played 5-a-side for about a year a few years back, so roughly 50 at a game a week. Started playing again a couple of years ago, which has varied from 1 to 4 games a week. Say an average of 2 a week for 2 years then that's another 200.

Totals up to around 400.

Ive played at primary school for 3years then Sunday league from u12s to u17s then adult Sunday league from 20 til last season.

Lost interest this season since 'my' team swannington folded

I'm signed on for a team but haven't played since November. I don't feel guilty about not turning up like I did on a very rare occasion for Swanno. I'm 26 though and realise that I'll have to give it up one day, so once this marathon is over I'll putmore of an effort in

If we're talking 90 minute games then I played in goal in the first Foxestalk U21 vs. O21 game. I also played centre back for my Primary school third team (vs. Nocton Primary - BIG GAME) when I was about 6 but that definitely wasn't 90 minutes.

So there we have it. One.

a couple of halfs at College before doing my ankle at the age of 18.

Now I can barely run for a bus without being in abit of pain.

Do you play in plimsolls and avoid 50/50 tackles?

Wouldn't like to think.

Must be 1,000 football over the years, 200-300 cricket, 50 odd rugby, handful of fights. Played hockey for the school a few times, Eeven a few Tennis and badminton matches, darts and pool leagues would number into hundreds of matches.

Good times, I'm so unfit now I can hardly walk up the stairs.

Couldn't possibly put a number on it, but easily over 500. That's 11 a side, and 6 a side.

Got back in to playing football recently, but don't play a league. There are about 14 of us who get together every Monday night (you only ever get 8 or 10 each week) and split in to teams to play non-stop 1 hour each way game of football.

Occasionally we play 4 x 30 minute games and swap the teams around.

No pikeys, no crap refs, no dangerous tackles. You seem some great football as well. One of the one touch goals scored against my team last night was something to behold.

I only went back to playing due to trying to lose a stone. As I'm asthmatic, the 2 hour thing is difficult, but since most of the players are technically good, there isn't the ridiculous running you tend to find when you watch some teams play 5 a side.

Not at all. Its just that I have and always play in goal. But playing in goal 11 a side I found too boring. I prefer 5 a side where you constantly have something to do

About 200 or so, not in a team or anything though

What how can you play 200 games but not have been in a team? It's like saying i've had sex loads of times but i'm still a virgin.

Playing it in PE and then in college etc

Spent a season as a keeper/striker for a pub team a couple seasons back. Must've got something like 20 matches under my belt.

Apart from that, I was always in my local boy's team and school team so too many to count and I'm afraid to make a stupid guess.
