Anyone know of a website with LCFC Academy Info on it?

There use to be a website with all the academy news and player profiles

academy.lcfc.info,

It would appear that it no longer exists and the Official site seems to have nothing on the Academy.

That was actually Petrescu's site.

I'm sure he'll be able to tell you the best place to find info about it..

That was my site :) But the owner of the site stopped hosting it for me. If you want any info ask on here cause i'll try and answer, as will Macca and chambo i'm sure as they both play in the academy! biggrin.gif

Chris o'grady scored against this season. McKay scored a lot of goals for caley thistle.

I'm guessing you stearman did ok for himself?

Anyone any idea where any of these are now? Apart from Logan obviously 

 

Sheehan is at Notts County after spells with Leeds and Swindon.

 

Stearman is still with Wolves, went on loan to Ipswich this season though. 

 

Wesolowski is at Oldham after being with Peterborough.

 

Dawson is at Barnsley after moving from Leyton Orient. Was at Mansfield and Bury as well.

 

McKay is at Inverness after joining them from Northampton (Where my friend says he was very good).

 

Chambers is at York City.

 

Dodds is at Port Vale.

 

Chris O'Grady is on loan at Barnsley from Wednesday. Was at Rotherham, Oldham and Rochdale.

Tomi Petrescu plays in Finland and moved from Honka to Haka earlier this year.

 

Always showed promise and after leaving us in 2003 he eventually became a leading player in the Finnish "Veikkausliiga" (by around 2007). Sad for the lad that a knee injury then foiled his planned move to Ajax in 2007-08. Since then he has failed to set the stage alight. 

 

He's never got a full cap for Finland and is unlikely to do so.

Ricky Muggleton was with Nuneaton boro for about three seasons after he was released by hinckley, i believe he left boro in October 2008 to join Solihull Moors after that I don't what happened to him.

Apart from Stearman and maybe Wesolowski and O'Grady we didn't have too good of a academy then lol

 

Hopefully in 5/6 years time when I ask about the lads who won the tournament in HongKong they are all at least championship maybe premiership players ;)

Yeah, he did, was captain of the team and think he's captain of the development squad at the minute.

That is really depressing reading, how can a City the size of ours only really produce Lineker and Heskey as genuine top level players in all these years?

Actually Shilton and Lineker isn't bad, both World Class.

 

What's actually more depressing is not a single Premier League player at this stage has came through our youth system, doesn't inspire much hope that many more are coming along.

Stearman, Mattock, Grady, Gradel, Oakes, Sheehan, Petrescu, Heskey, Weslowski(sp?) , Dawson, Gradel, Logan, King, Sheehan .... they've all come through the Youth Squad and played at Championship level and above.

Alright the standard has improved and a lot wouldn't orvaren't playing now but I don't think we have the worlds worst academy setup.
