I have no idea, I could not be less 'in the know' if I lived in a cave in outer Mongolia.

Do people live in caves in Outer Mongolia then Mike?

Adkins is locked in a legal battle with the Saints and cannot enter negotiations with any club until that has been settled. Brian McDermott is not a 'quick fix' manager and again is yet to agree terms with his employer. Lennon will not walk out on Celtic mid season and I think we're being a tad arrogant to assume he'll pass on another Champions league campaign to slum it in the Championship. RDM, I can't see a Champions League winning coach (less than 12 months ago) coming to us.

We are not in a strong bargaining position, jobs will become available in the summer at bigger clubs than us, any ex Premier league manager worth their salt will wait it out.

I may be mistaken but didn't Lambert not agree terms yet with Norwich for his settlement when he moved to Villa?

There is no stopping managers moving provided the money is their so I don't agree that they have to wait till their settlement is agreed before they can take on new jobs.

I never thought I would see the day when Sven was appointed City managers these Thais are ambitious I wouldn't hold it against them attracting someone like RDM if they are serious then who knows.

Lambert walked out on Norwich, he was never sacked.

The Sven appointment is in a different league. Once he 'worked' for Notts County it was obvious that he'll work anywhere provided the money is right.

If we were to appoint another 'high profile' manager I would assume we'd be looking at an elder statesman of the footballing fraternity.

Regardless of this season's finish, I'd love to see Pearson given another shot at promotion should we fail to finish in the Top Six in 2012/2013. For me, it would mean a season where we could truly see his impact. I just hope he could get rid of the last few of the old brigade or loan them out for an entire season. I do not see the point in keeping Futacs, Gallagher or Wellens (even though I think Gallagher has had less of opportunities to shine under the new Pearson regime). Don't know what to think of Vardy; even though he's getting a lot of stick for not being up for the Championship, he can't have cost us about a million pounds for nothing (well, apart from giving away bad fouls and the likes).

I think our defense and attack are settled and need little improvement. If only Pearson would play a proper midfield, buy a player that can actually hold the middle together. I can only hope that Pearson learns not to hesitate to swap players earlier on during second halves and work on his passing football aversion - we might actually see some improvement with our so-called weak subs bench.

What you'd like to happen and what will happen are two separate things.

In the Thais eye's he'll have failed twice. Sven was permitted one chance, Nigel has been given two, he will not be permitted a third.

Adkins is no longer on gardening leave with Southampton. He has forfeited his monthly payments in order to pursue a lump sum settlement via tribunal. He is now free to join a new club any time he likes. This has been quite widely reported so the owners will be aware.

Sir Alex Ferguson was given i think about 4 years at Manchester United before winning his first trophy. Do we give big Nigey P another 2 bites of the cherry?, sadly i dont think he will get the chance for one more pop at it let alone 2 if he fooks up this season - just over a month ago we were fookin second ffs

Only time will tell. At this point, it's all pure speculation.

And if you really want to sack one of our best managers ever (in terms of winning percentage), then I'd like to know from you why you think the new guy (no matter whom) could turn things around for the better in eight games or in his first season - surely you'd have the same new guy sacked if he didn't live up to your pre-conceived high personal expectations?

The Ferguson example is a bit of a dodgy one. He finished second in the league in his first full season in charge so it isn't as though he has a bad start. He did struggle for a couple of seasons after that but they were different times. He'd have been sacked long ago in the modern era.

I wish we were able to sack players the same way we can managers, teams would have 6 or 7

players sacked every month with some clowns expectations and demands!

The winning percentage stat is bollocks. He managed us in League One. No other manager has has that advantage. His winning percentage this season is worse that that of Eriksson. There aren't too many clamouring for his return.

I'm just as baffled and disappointed as everybody else when it comes to our recent drop in form and in the table. But let's not forget that general expectations at the start of this season (at least judging by the FT polls) were a lot more cautious and unspectacular than our rise to second spot suggested.

However, I do believe that a certain percentage of our fanbase gets carried away way too easily, has too high expectations way too quickly and takes everything (or many things) for granted. Many of this fraction also believe that going the apparent easy route and sacking a manager is the magical answer to all problems football-related.

Modern-day football has raised the bar in many aspects, but simultaneously lowered the patience and tolerance level across the board.

It's a sad indictment of modern society (as well as football) if common sense plays second fiddle behind emotional claptrap.

It has nothing to do with what I want, it is what the owners want. They want Premier League football. Nigel was brought in to achieve that last season and failed, if he fails again I believe they will terminate his contract. Pearson knows and knew precisely what he was getting into.

Again why are we confusing what fans expect with what the owners demand? The Thais will have invested upwards of £30m in wages and fees over the last2 seasons, that money was provided with the expressed intention of getting to the Premier League. Pearson is being paid close to £1m a season to achieve that goal, he will be comfortably the highest paid manager in this division. With that privilege comes consequences and you or I have no control over that.

Yes i appreciate its not the best comparison to make but it does at least show what can be achieved by some patience being shown by the board etc etc

However, personally i think he should go if he blows it this season

No it isn't. You still have to win the games you're faced with. And be honest, every other club wanted to beat us in League One. Fortunately, we had a very good team back then and an excellent understanding within the squad as well as a special bond between team and manager.

Also, we started the season on an emotional low only to finish on a superb high. In many aspects, not just this one, the League One campaign was something truly special and I doubt we'll ever get that lovely team spirit again soon.

Were you there?

Ferguson also had the slight advantage of having a CV which boasted 4 league titles, 4 Scottish Cups, a Scottish League Cup, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. Unless I popped out to the shops for longer than I thought I'm pretty sure Pearson's CV doesn't quite match that.

Of course it is. It is used to compare him with other managers. You cannot compare his League One record with managers who have managed us at higher levels. If you want to compare his Championship record to other managers who have managed at that level then fine, it becomes a fair comparison. If you want to compare him against managers who have managed in the top flight then unlucky, he has never earned that right.

If I was a 100 metre runner there's a pretty good chance I'll have a higher percentage 'finishing the race' rate than a marathon runner. But it's not a fair comparison, is it?

I can't recall the owners ever publicly demanding instant promotion to the Premier League under the guidance of Pearson this season.

However, he does know that promotion is expected - in the long run:

...Pearson said he knows what his remit is, to get City promoted to the Premier League, and that although immediate results were vital, he had built his squad with a long-term plan in mind.

...

"My remit is still to get us up. That will always be the same and that is what we expect ourselves.

"There is a long way to go but I am not overly happy with where we sit at the moment.

"I think it is important for me as a manager to have a slightly more balanced view than other people. I have to look at what we are doing and not doing well, and make sure there is a balanced approach.

"You don't see me jumping up and down too much when things go well, and I am not going to get too despondent when things are going, on the face if it, not very well.

"But that is because I have to do that and that is how I work."

Besides, we don't know what other teams in this league - Cardiff, Watford, Crystal Palace, Hull or FEç*st are paying their respective managers. I can only assume it will be in the same regions, somewhere thereabouts or even higher.
