Pearson In/Out

The investment in this side demands success (it does not guarantee it however).

DeLaet £1m

James £1m

Marshall £1m

Vardy £1m+

Morgan £1m

Wood £1m

Knockaert £350k

Drinkwater £500k

That's nearly £7m (excluding wages). Plus whatever hit we took on offloading players.

Pearson knew what he was signing up to when he joined, this is not a team put together with string and buttons, by comparative standards we are paying a kings ransom to our squad, we expect better and we deserve someone who can match our expectations. We are not expecting 'instant' success, we have tolerated nearly 3 years of reckless investment, that investment needs to pay off and pay off soon. Sentimentality will not pay the bills.

Good post Mike

We, or rather the owners, have to do what they think will give us the best chance to get promoted.

If they believe that means getting rid of Pearson, so be it.

Pearson has been well paid, and well backed, they owe him nothing!

I don't agree, we are in the playoffs, not mid-table. If you blame him for the downfall you have to give him credit for the position we are in.

Edit, besides I wouldn't give owners any credence for their football management skills

We are now in the play-offs on merely goal difference, with Brighton having won 3-0 against Palace this afternoon.

The game against Brighton, looming up, is the proverbial 6-pointer.

We have no more games in hand and, based upon current form, 7th is finally looking a very distinct possibility.

Though I predicted 7th at the start of the season I doubt many of us, even myself to be honest, thought that we could slip-up so majorly given our position a month or so ago.

It really is, no excuses, very very disappointing.

You're being quite generous there, as well. Some reports suggest we spent £1m on Drinkwater, getting om for £2m on Wood, and about the same on Knockaert. Whatever the case he has beem bloody well backed.

Good post, although I think of the transfer fees are even larger than you state which goes to show even more what you are saying.

Question is Pearson out now or at the end of the season if we bottle it?

It would be too late at the end of the season with regards to promotion bringing in a new man now might give us a chance of getting back to form although their is no guarantee either way NFP is a dead man walking the sooner the better I guess.

End of season if we bottle it, while we still have a chance of play offs, he still is on target to get us promoted!!

Oh My God! You`ve come over to the dark side!!!

Be prepared to be called a moron and a cvnt, it goes with the territory i`m afraid.

Oh I've always had one foot firmly planted there Smudger63 :P having seen some dross over the decades this has given me two perspectives one is....... Oh it's the Leicester way, keep the faith etc etc, however there comes a time when the other side and harsh reality of failings have to be addressed. It doesn't mean I support the team any less bud and I really don't give a rats ass if anyone doesn't like a non positive viewpoint because there are always two sides which I have never deviated from! The BTS persona is my natural and preferred outlook (sales background) but sometimes " you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear" The next business decision the Thais make, for me, will be the most interesting in many many years!

I think Pearson is under no illusions. He was brought here to get us promotion. If he fails again we will not be afforded the opportunity to fail a third time.

Definitely Mike, when do you feel the axe will fall? Purely based on the assumption it will obviously!

I would guess as soon as it is no longer mathematically possible to gain promotion.

I personally have got the feeling they will make a move in the international break, hoping for an injection of new manager syndrome! :dunno:

I don't think they will mate.

Like Mike said, I think it's probable he will go if we can't mathematically get promotion.

If that happens, expect a new manager next campaign I would imagine.

He's finished. I said so after the Sheffield Wednesday game.

His mannerisms are there for all to see.

He looked beaten in that game and he looked well and truly beaten when he walked down the tunnel yesterday.

I can't believe it has come to this but he's done it himself with bringing negative aspects into the team game when we really needed to push on.

He's been found out and he has NO answer.

That's it.

I think the lack of a credible replacement will see them hold their nerve.

I also assume that if he fails to gain promotion they will be able to end his contract by 'mutual consent'.

I have a sneaky suspicion the next appointment will work under a director of football and may not come from these shores. They don't just want promotion they want a brand, I think the early season switch to a more progressive style was an indication of this.

Why wait till mathematically impossible to go up?

We have still got a chance of going up this season but not with NP at the helm a new manager may provide a spark?

There is no viable alternative currently and it will save them money (working on the assumption his replacement doesn't experience the dead cat bounce).

Really?

RDM, Adkins, McDermott, Lennon (when he has won the SPL title) etc.

Fans who think Peasron should stay after this season ask yourself this will he get us auto promotion next season? The answer is NO because he to stubbon and has no tactics.

And I've got a sneaky suspicion whoever this may be could be in the advanced stages of negotiation and ready to go if they tossed and got heads :P

Adkins is locked in a legal battle with the Saints and cannot enter negotiations with any club until that has been settled. Brian McDermott is not a 'quick fix' manager and again is yet to agree terms with his employer. Lennon will not walk out on Celtic mid season and I think we're being a tad arrogant to assume he'll pass on another Champions league campaign to slum it in the Championship. RDM, I can't see a Champions League winning coach (less than 12 months ago) coming to us.

We are not in a strong bargaining position, jobs will become available in the summer at bigger clubs than us, any ex Premier league manager worth their salt will wait it out.

I have no idea, I could not be less 'in the know' if I lived in a cave in outer Mongolia.
