This makes me feel proud to be a Leicester fan

Well said that man. All the slagging off of Leicester I have heard recently!! This redressed the balance for me. Well done to city

Fantastic from the club, and I hope other clubs do similar if required, too.

Faith in humanity restored.

Very true Stan

Well done LCFC,

How lovely to think that our Club still has the thoughts of this familys loss,

I was there that day with my dad, whom sadly passed away three weeks ago, I know he would of been very proud of our Club doing this as we were

so saddened by news at the time.. It doesnt seem like 9 years have passed,

For all our moans and groans of which we know there are many at the moment, this is a truly great gesture.

It's really good to hear the club taking the time to do that.

I remember the roof blowing off the holiday inn and nearly hitting a cyclist outside the megastore, it was caught on CCTV if I remember. I'm sure it might have blown off a second time too.

Nine years ago today Bernard Murphy was killed just outside the Walkers Stadium in Leicester on his way to watch his beloved toffees, Bernard was just 40 at the time.

This morning Leicester City rang his family to tell them they were in their thoughts and prayers, as well as sending flowers, a fantastic gesture they do every year why his own club seem to have forgotten about the loss of one of their supporters.

I see a few of your supporters moaning on twitter and such about how the club is ran, so I thought I would like to post about a positive and thank your club for such a fantastic gesture which is a big comfort for his family, as they said today "Everton should hand over their peoples club tag to Leicester City"

Thanks for letting us know.Good to hear.Really pleased our club are doing this.Anything been put on any Everton Forums? Might be nice for some Toffee fans to know people are thinking about Bernard and his family, and there are good clubs and fans about.

Got a soft spot for Everton as " Big Dave Watson" is friends with some of my family.

Great effort city, and what a great idea too! Some have already mentioned it, but ringing in stead of sending out a generic letter makes such a difference! Well played! And RIP to that man too.

I seem to recall that sometime after that Everton game when Bernard sadly died that we played Liverpool at home, and they their fans had a large flag/banner in the Everton colours saying "RIP Bernard" or something similar.

Does anyone else remember this, I'm sure I didnt imagine it??

I remember that day very clearly and it was so good to read a fantastic, positive post. We should be proud to be associated with such a caring club. It is very easy nowadays to have a go at the current administration so hats off and a very well done to Leicester City for this very thoughtful gesture.

Only just seen this thread on the 'highest rep' part of the website. I don't usually post on older threads (only a few weeks though), but I was pleased to hear the club do this. A great example of what I mean when I often post, 'as fans we only see the external part of the club'. Without this thread, we wouldn't have known the club do this - and what a good thing to do.

Was only young but I do remember it. Can't remember the banner from the Liverpool fans, even though I went to both of those games. Nice work from Leicester City FC, something I'm pleased to hear we do. It puts football into perspective.
