Is one goal enough?

I'm worried if we go there looking to sit back and hold the lead we've got.

If we keep up the tempo we did yesterday and grab a goal we'll be through. They'll be looking to go all out attack and we'll need to defend bloody well in order to go through. If we can cut out the small mistakes (Schlupp and De Laat made a few) I'm confident we can get a draw at least.

Hopefully they'll still be in their slump for not making automatic!

Said before the game that we really needed a 2 goal cushion ahead of sunday to make it slightly more comfortable. Was a funny feeling at the final whistle last night.....Delighted to have the one goal lead, but wish we'd have got something from the first 30 mins when we battered them.Think we have to go about the game in the same way on Sunday and not be too defensive at first. If we get the first goal then have a rethink.

Get beat 4-0 what f**king planet are you on!

The majority of our away games we have lost 2-1 it will be a tight game again reckon it will be a 1-1 draw which would see us through based on goal difference.

Come on City we can f**king do this.

We'd be through on away goals too. :D

Why are people getting ahead of themselves though, what's the point of doing it.

You get ahead of yourself, think we are going to do, and what if we end up losing and fail to make it to Wembley.

Then all those idiots, who got ahead of themselves, will then be calling the team shit.

I'm keeping calm, and hope we do well and keep it close, I just don't like the people who are getting ahead of themselves, it's only 1-0 with another game to play.

My god, I agreed with every word of a Kingfox post.

I'd say next goal wins. If we score then they will have to come after us bigstyle and they'll be vulnerable on the break. If they score first, they'll get a bit of momentum and put us under severe pressure. I'm not sure we'll be able to withstand it.

Nice sketch work.

What was your grade in Art?

Statistically speaking it should at least see us into extra time, of couse football doesn't always work like that though lol

in 52 Championship and cup games we have only lost by more than one goal twice, against Barnsley and Burton, and that was with our main defender and player of the sesaon Wes Morgan suspended or rested. So Watford need to do something that hasn't been managed in 50 previous attempts in League and cup this season and beat a Leicester team with Wes Morgan in it by more than one goal to avoid extra time.

Personally I can see it going to Extra time and possibly them nicking it, but fingers crossed we do the business.

The lead/lack of lead whatever it is is irrelevant.

Before the Cardiff play-off game everyone said we needed a two goal lead etc else we'll get hammered. We went there and played brilliant and scored three. I realise what happened in the end but my point is the play-offs are so unpredictable, bar a mauling of the one team, the tie is always open come the second leg.

We have never lost by more than one goal, even if we lose by that, as long as we score we are going to Wembley...

I don't believe one goal was enough last night. Two teams who did not really perform last night, but we scored. Watford will be up for this now, and will pile the pressure on us. We will have to combat this, and I do hope we just try and hold on to this one goal advantage. City must up their game to as higher level as they have played all season, and need to "bully" Watford from the first whistle, and try and take the game to them.

Our away record is not too wonderful of late, but the win at Forest could be inspiring. We cannot afford to squander chances, or our goose will be well and truly cooked.

Though I truly doubt we will win this, in the event of our doing so, then we have every chance of promotion.

I thought you said we had no chance?

NP needs to have a serious word with kasper about ball retention.Sure its 80 yards away after hes pinged it but two passes later its back in our box.Just creating problems getting possession again.players are good enough to play it around and it may make a difference.

Said this many times this season just get the ball down and pass it, the amount of pressure we bring onto ourself could be avoided quite easily, and as we seen in the first half of the season when we do play it on the floor we control games.

Having only read Col's opening post then I'm probably echoing a few sentiments that have appeared in some of the in-between posts since then - but with only one goal in it, then it really does all depend on the day and who holds their nerve! While before kick off it was widely seen by the neutral as Watford's opportunity of promotion to lose (because of the nature of their missing out on automatic), then in many ways it's now ours to lose, as we're now in the ascendency with our slender lead and are the team with the all important momentum.

Deeney's return could be a deciding factor although that apart, I don't think much will be different to last night with the general game pattern after their so called goalkeeping crisis didn't figure. If we defend more stoutly down there with Deeney back in the equation than we did when they played us in the league at King Power - and efficiently catch them on the counter attack then I fancy our chances of progression to Wembley. The blessing is that Watford have been weaker at home than away but as the play offs often dictate, logic and previous form tends to go out the window!

No, it's not enough, 2-0 might not have been enough, but there is little euphoria on here Col, plenty of the forum are saying that we were lucky to win and we are going to get battered on Sunday.

People are seriously over-rating Watford's performance. It was a tight game and we nicked it. One goal does not give us the right to stroll around at Vicarage Road but we have an advantage, albeit slender.

Just wish people would cheer up a bit.

This totally!

Both Watfords strikers will be different on Sunday Deeney will come in for Geijo and Forestieri for Vydra, the two that played last night would be considered their second string Geijo has hardly played this season and Vydra has been crap ever since he won Championship player of the year, both Deeney and Forestieri will pose a bigger threat than the two last night, with a Prem ref it will be difficult to defend against Forestieri maybe a penalty or a sending off somewhere
