Babylon Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 Watford have lost 4 of their last 6... We've lost 1 of our last 6. Up until last night 5 of our last 6 games we'd conceded 2 goals. My feeling is we will need to score two goals to avoid defeat or pennos.
foxer Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 I agree with Col I thought that we were fairly lucky last night to come away with a win when it could so easily have gone the other way. One Goal certainly wont be enough we need a goal early doors at Vicarage Road if we're going to stand a chance of getting into the final. The quality of football was very poor in the second half but its nice to be back winning games while playing poorly which is something that we've lacked for the last few months. Sunday is massive! Wish I could go.
Fox92 Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 I did want a two goal lead to be fair. However, one goal is better than no goals. It is only one goal, however we have something to defend. Watford have got to attack and maybe leave the game open at the back, especially the longer it is 0-0.
Kitchandro Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 No one goal won't be enough. Watford attack with flair and will put us under plenty of pressure. We've got to be careful that we don't invite it and let them bombard us, we need to keep the ball better and not resort to hoofing it and giving it them straight back. We looked very nervous last night, I'm hoping we will be less so away from home. An early goal would be massive.
ScouseFox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 As time moved on and Watford looked more like they were going to win I've gotta say I was pretty pleased with just 1 goal. 1 goal is better than no goals which is much, much better than 0-1 like last time. Whatever will be, will be and all that...
yorkie1999 Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 The target is to win 3 games, we've won one, 2 more to go. Plus we've won our last 2 and they've lost their last 2

I thought Watford looked quite ordinary last night and were lucky not to go in at halftime 0-2 down. One goal could be enough if we keep another clean sheet although we don't want to go there to defend our narrow lead. It's all to play for still and I sincerely hope we'll do the biz again on Sunday.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 Conditions were poor, we did not play that well, we won. We didn't lose, we have ever chance of winning the tie, unless Schulpp decides to give them a goal or two. Watford will have to come at us, is that really in their favour? After all the talk of Watford being such a good side they only finished 3rd. Think about the effect on them, it cannt be good. A lot has been said about the two defeats we suffered at their hands yet the first was with a new formation and the second could have been won by either side. I would rather be in our position than there's and I do my think there are many fans who would not have taken this result before the game. Watfords form of late has not been great. So yes it will be tough but I can not see Watford being favourites now.

You seem to be including our chances to score and not theirs in that. They without question should have scored after Schlupps muck up.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 Also a fair few pundits said that after the Leeds loss that the players looked beaten (all I heard from a Watford fan I know was that they should have finished 2nd..... Hull have been 2nd for quite a while haven't they) now they have lost the first leg will they be able to motivate themselves ? Seemed to hear a lot of excuses last night. So that's the real question ..... Not is one goal enough but can Watford turn it around ? Please don't use form from earlier in the season cause we went top didn't we. We had the best defence and scored for fun. On current form there is little in, it will come down to who applies themselves best to task on hand and and odd mistake or wonder goal.

iamafox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 One goal isn't enough, I don't want to go through the torture of defending such a precarious lead for 90+ minutes. I'm still positive about the 2nd leg though, we can take heart from the chances we created last night and we need to do the same on Sunday, but we NEED to score that first goal once again.
kingfox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 People shouldn't get ahead of themselves, we could well get beat 4-0 on Sunday.
Happy Fox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 Get beat 4-0 what f**king planet are you on! The majority of our away games we have lost 2-1 it will be a tight game again reckon it will be a 1-1 draw which would see us through based on goal difference. Come on City we can f**king do this.
EdinburghFox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 I think if we score first it will be very hard for them to score 3 to win it before extra time. I think they'll score but I can't see them scoring 3 if we score.

You don't know what will happen do you. Can you read into the fookin future? I'm surprised your even happy.

Fox92 Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 You don't know what will happen do you. Can you read into the fookin future? I'm surprised your even happy. Went to +1 you for that, but realised I couldn't!
Happy Fox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 You don't know what will happen do you. Can you read into the fookin future? I'm surprised your even happy. I know that we haven't conceded 4 ****ing goals this season in the league so I don't know how you can say that when we have the best away defensive record in the league factore, are you clueless and banterless at the same time?
Corky Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 No, it's not enough, 2-0 might not have been enough, but there is little euphoria on here Col, plenty of the forum are saying that we were lucky to win and we are going to get battered on Sunday. People are seriously over-rating Watford's performance. It was a tight game and we nicked it. One goal does not give us the right to stroll around at Vicarage Road but we have an advantage, albeit slender. Just wish people would cheer up a bit.
kingfox Posted 10 May 2013 Posted 10 May 2013 And you wonder why folk dont like you Why are people getting ahead of themselves though, what's the point of doing it. You get ahead of yourself, think we are going to do, and what if we end up losing and fail to make it to Wembley. Then all those idiots, who got ahead of themselves, will then be calling the team shit. I'm keeping calm, and hope we do well and keep it close, I just don't like the people who are getting ahead of themselves, it's only 1-0 with another game to play.

It wasn't banter. I just wish people like you would calm the fook down. The play-offs is a whole different ball game, it's not a normal league game, it's an entirely different scenario. We could well get beat 4-0, we could get beat 1-0, we could play like we did yesterday and win the game, or we could even thrash them 4-0. I just wish people would stop getting ahead of themselves, because if we lose those over optimistic idiots, will come on this forum and it will be like a car crash, absolute and utter mess, full of people raving about how shit we are, and that we will never get back into the Premier League.
