lcfcnugent Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 94th minute penalty. The little man from France is the only one who has the bollocks to take it. He missed it. I'm not bothered because when I sang "don't sell knockaert" I sang it cus I love the "wee" French ronaldo

cjslcfc Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 All I can say is fair play to the lad for standing in front of the fans, holding his hands up and apologising. That's what I saw on the TV anyway
The God Emperor Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 He was the only one with the bollocks to take it. I didnt think he was the right man for it but the other players should have stepped in, particularly the captain.
shearfox Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 Indeed he had a good game, and we all know anyone can miss a penalty, even the best players in the world.

LeicesterLuke91 Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 The "Don't Sell Knockaert" song needs changing to "Don't Blame Knockaert". This guy had the courage to step up and take the penalty. Granted he missed, but fair play to him for stepping up. To appreciate success, you must experience defeat.
ealingfox Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 He'd been our best player going forward all game, and he won the penalty. No complaints about him wanting to take it, nor about him being allowed to.

fleckneymike Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 What was the fans reaction to knockaert after the game? Hearty applause. As a mate just said, this is so much worse than the Cardiff semi as we have nowhere for our rage to go.
stevelcfc Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 Really feel for the guy, just imagine for a second how having that much pressure feels like, and then being in his situation now. His penalty miss is not comparable to Kermorgant's as he wasn't trying to be a cocky little **** about it, genuine guy who's made a genuine mistake and apologize numerous times already for it, again unlike Kermocvnt who is still yet to. Legend_in_blue Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 Just think of the decent moments, like the curler vs Bristol at home or the double at Huddersfield. He will become a better player for it. He will bounce back I'm sure of it.
Thracian Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 Well i've no idea why he was ever allowed to take the penalty - whether he wanted to or not. He's a lightweight as a goalscorer and his effort today emphasised why. As for the controversy over the award I'd be right with Manwell if he dived and don't see that the standards of others have anything to do with the standards we try to set. But, that said, their defenders arm was all over Knockaert's face and his going down easily has nothing to do with anything. If he was fouled - and that's how it looked to me - he's entitled to go down. Then it's for specialist strikers to take over from there...and particularly people who hit the ball with pace. Our lack of concentration after the save was lamentable and, once again, our management showed themselves flawed in their approach to maintaining a lead. It's all been said before as to why and doesn't matter at all any more because the failure to improve on our approach has cost us big time in the end. davelcfc100 Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 Played his heart out all game, his work work rate was immense today, he wanted to win more than any1 on the pitch today, great player and I hope he has a long career with us

cc_star Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 No wonder he thinks he's gods gift and never passes. With Knockaert it's all about Knockaert not the team No wonder he'd sooner do another trick rather than pass to someone in space, no wonder he'd rather beat a player 3 times and run into a dead end 99% of the time rather than beat a man once then cross it I'm sorry, he doesn't need putting on a pedestal - he needs taking off one... And then he's got a chance of being as great as both he & his wilfully blind arselickers think he is. We know he's a potential match winner, now he needs to work on being part of the team too. Lionator Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 To be fair a lot's been made about the 'dive' but nothing has been made of the 40 metre run beating numerous defenders in the first place. After this, he'll tear the championship to pieces next year.
Grewks Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 Personally think he is overrated. Although he is a 'match winner' he has only really won us 2 games all season, and to be fair, i think any of our players could have scored the goal at forest. I do have sympathy with him for the pen though. Yes, it wasn't the greatest, but he had the balls to take it unlike the more experienced players like king or nuge. Whether they normally take them or not does not matter, because if it went to penalties they would of had to. Yes he is always drifting in and out of games, and until we get some creativity in the middle of the park we will struggle. Look at watford for instance, chalobah, abdi and forrestieri, who all play in the middle and very creative. Players like king, james and drinky are box to box midfielders who provide energy, not creativity, we need someone like tomlin in the summer. zacd14 Posted 12 May 2013 Share Posted 12 May 2013 Morgan or Pearson should have stepped in and told him, should always let you're set penalty takers take them.
