You know what, you can all fvck off. Who are you to judge? You're probably all from shitholes such as Loughborough and think you have a divine right to slag off someone's hometown, pretentious arseholes.

Skeggy is a shithole.

But it's OUR shithole.

Like Filbert Street.

I went there once. I thought I was in the slums. Wanted to go back after 30 minutes.

You went to Knighton and thought you were in the slums.

French's? A friend used to have a static caravan there (sadly it had to be moved cos it was too old for the site (now that's snobby!)), but yeah, lovely place! There are few finer things than a pint on the Albatross on a sunny day!

That's the one! Worth the queue!

A couple of summers ago, my band played a gig on the Albatross - we managed to get 3 hours out of 45 minutes worth of material somehow. Everyone was so drunk they loved it, downstairs was rammed - and to top it off we were meant to get £50 for the gig but Thon (the Dutch owner, crazy man) ended up giving us about £150. Most of that subsequently went on drink and crab bait, brilliant weekend

Steady on mate you have just said don't slag someones home town off and you've done just that?

In my early 20s I went with a few mates for a day trip to Skeggy and ironically put a knotted hanky on my head for about 10 minutes.

During that 10 minutes I lay down on the beach to relax for a few minutes and closed my eyes.

As I did so, I overheard this couple walking past and muttering about the dead drunk fellah and suggesting that the underclass really were spoiling the town.

They were talking about me.

Good to see that the irony hasn't been wasted....

Went Skeggy for the weekend last year for the first time in about 7 years, I think its actually improved, a bit less tacky. I'd definitely go back again.

A least it isn't Mablethorpe now that is grim.

Mablethorpe just smells of Death.

Skegness is actually alright tbh.

Just booked my weeks holiday, okay it's not the costa del sol but i always seem to enjoy being down there. The boathouse is a cracking place at night.

If you're 16.

One of the chefs on Saturday Kitchen today was from Skegness ,Ben Tish (make your own puns). Where would he work? I thought a posh restaurant in Skeg was one where they put lettuce in your kebab.

Well im very happy living in skegness.

Our little boy loves the beach, as a family each evening we can cross the road and walk the coastal path.

Fresh air

No traffic

Peaceful

For us it works and I love our hotel.

Do you live in a hotel or do you own/run one?

I'll have to go there some time. What's so bad about it?

It's an average seaside town. It has a fair, a beach, ice cream stalls and lots of pubs. What else do people expect in this country?
