Players Nigel has wanted but not had long enough in charge or enough money

When he was first in charge of Leicester he had built the squad and stated he wanted to only add players that were above and beyond what was all ready in the squad. He was then linked with Edgar Davids,Jose Antonio Reyes, Robert Lewrondowski when he was at Lech Poznan and Charlie Austin when he was at Swindon Town. Unfortunately Nigel was later sacked for no reason. He then went to Hull city where he signed Robert Koren,Robbie Brady,Cameron Stewart who was one hell of a player before he broke his leg and John Bostock on loan from Spurs. In his second stint in charge of Leicester he apparently beat Benfica,Marseille and Newcastle to the signature of Anthony Knockeart. Also in his second stint he has been rumoured to be after Eziekel Fryers when he was available for £500k last summer, scouting Angelo Ogbonna whilst in Serie B for Torino! Now all of Europe's top clubs want him. Skysports had a funny newsfeed stating Real Madrid, both Manchester clubs,Arsenal and Leicester at the end are looking at 18 year old Adam Maher from AZ Alkmaar a few months ago! and last but not least when we were in the top 2 and heading for promotion he was looking at Darren Bent to spearhead the attack in the premier league! I feel we're in the same position now has we were 2 years ago. Now Nigel is confirmed to be staying it will be interesting to see if he unearths any more gems.

NP wasn't "sacked for no reason, he resigned".

we can all say Nigel has made bad signings! what about sir alex! Djemba,Djemba,Kleberson,Bebe,Bellion,Tashibi,Barthez,Manucho!

Vardy? Probably.

Whitbread? Haven't seen enough of him to judge him on a few appearances.

Futacs? Maybe. Showed that he can cut it, but then went into oblivion.

Lindgaard? I don't even remember him being with us - wasn't he sent back after a short and unsuccessful loan period?

Wood? Very harsh. I think he's a very good signing, if only we were playing for his strengths - he can't work with hoofballs at all, he's too skilled for that, he needs ground passes.

Kane? Harsh. Against Watford at home in the playoffs, he was immense. According to Shakespeare, it took him a while to get acclimatized. Maybe a bit too late.

Vardy has proved he isn't up to it.  He does not have enough guile, strength or skill at this level.

Whitbread is average.  I don't think he is as bad as people think but he definitely is no world beater.

Futacs is awful.

Lingard made 2 or 3 substitute appearances and was absolutely terrible.

Wood has been poor for the last few games but he has undoubted goal scoring ability.

Kane was very very disappointing for me.  One half decent performance (not immense) against Watford and the rest of the time he was shocking.

Wood is built like a target man! But isn't and apparently struggling with a knee problem! More experience and flair will give him better service to his feet.  Just how he likes it

Jury is still out on Wood for me. Class is permanent, form is temporary - it works both ways. Indeed that could be said for the whole squad. We've seen how well we can play, as well as how badly we can play in almost equal measure. Which is our class and which was just form is impossible to know.

Pearson made some poor signings in his first spell here too, dany n'guessan anyone? Kermo? There were several more, as well as a fair few younger players who never got anywhere, likewise this season with Clifford and a couple others. Pointless signings.

In NP's defence he has made some very good budget signings, several of them among our best signings of the last decade. But he has signed just as many stinkers.

I agree.

That sums it up for me, though for some reason still think Vardy could come good.

IMHO,

Following SGE clubs were asking for big bucks for anyone we were linked with and we would pay over the odds. Look what Pearson has spent, look at what they could be sold for and think his players have increased in value, so think he and his team has done a good job.

I gotta agree... Something makes me think Vardy still has plenty of goals in him.

I'm still bewildered as to why Pearson chose Kane over Vardy for those final few games. Unless he had to.....

Kermo wasn't a bad signing unless you count missing a penalty. Scored 12 this year for Charlton more than anyone bar Nugent, is probably better in the air than any of our frontmen.

Personally think Vardy might yet come good for us.

He'll be on no more than league 1 wages anyway.

I dont see how anyone can say Chris Wood is a bad signing, if we put him up for sale now we would probably be able to double what we paid for him

Agreed, the talent was there in Kerm.  You shouldnt rely on bit part players in big games like that though, poor management not a poor signing

It might be Steve Walsh who signs the players but likely he'll be gone if we sack Pearson. You can't really consider him as a separate member of staff, he's part of the Pearson management team and probably won't be hear if we get rid of Nigel.

I would agree that the management team's strength appears to be signing players, of course there are those who don't work out but I'm continually impressed by the additions made to the squad.

Jamie Vardy, Zak Whitbread, Marko Futacs, Jesse Lindgaard, Chris Wood, Harry Kane

Yeah. These are the reality.

I don't remember Reyes ( lol lol !!!! ?? !!!) but Pearson wasn't linked to Davids and Lewandowski, Leicester were. Big difference.

We only get linked to these players (albeit hugely spuriously by stupid rumours websites) because we're perceived to have ridiculous money. Like or loathe Pearson, this is not a credible defence of him.

As for Adam Maher. lol

adam maher was on sky sports! Davids was in the Mercury as was Charlie Austin! Lewrondowski was in national newspapers. oh and two more i can think of is Izaguirre and Palacios.  He's scouted and signed Anthony Knockeart so a history of scouting young talent from abroad is there! There will be more no doubt arriving over the summer.  Give Nigel and his team some credit

Surely nobody is expecting any major spending this summer, unless you have been asleep for months and not read about the Financial Fair Play rules.

Big transfer fees and big wages are non starters this summer, there needs to be a serious clear out of the current high earners to have any chance of meeting the FFP set limits

You can call it resigned if you like.... But having your successor being shown around whilst you are still manager shows you the boards intentions.. He was pushed, of that there is no doubt.
