Premier League 2013/14 Stuff it in here!

Sunderland were gone before tonight, tonight has just pretty much confirmed it.

No point mentioning they have two games in hand, you have to win them games in hand and when you are second bottom in the league then how can you be confident of winning them two games. I really don't know how Sunderland can go from the performance v us at Anfield a few weeks ago now, to losing to West Ham and Spurs in the way they have. Someone above mentioned why hasn't Gus Poyet come under criticism? I completely agree, staggered he hasn't, suppose when he can boast about taking Sunderland to Wembley then he is going to get more time.

Such a poor side. Some of the dross they have signed is really worrying, dread to think what wages Johnson, Altidore, O'Shea and Brown are on let alone the others.

Could well be along way back for them when they are relegated.

Talking about having given up already;

What message does Poyet think does this send to his players? Being inspirational and able to motivate don't seem to be his two pair of shoes, in my opinion.

Is that not similar to Mourinho saying his side won't win the title though? Sometimes in a roundabout way it can motivate the players to prove their manager wrong. Guess it works both ways though!

No-one reads into playing down of yourselves when Mourinho does it so why it's any different for Poyet I don't know.

because jose is a managerial genius and has previously bamboozled people with mind games and when he said they weren't going to win the league they were top and however many points clear. whereas gus poyet is seemingly a bit of a clown and they are obviously going to go down and him stating it now just seems a bit silly.

Anyone been reading the extracts of "The Dark side of Jose Mourinho" in the Times this week by Diego Torres?

Brilliant stuff, the man is a nutcase if half of the stuff in it is to be believed, telling his team to make sure they don't lose to Barca in a second leg as they lost the first so they could still "blame the referee".

It's like reading a Spanish version of The Damned United.

Anyone who honestly fell for his comments about being of the title race is too naive for me to be arsed with currently.

These are two massive if's..

IF we beat Man City on Sunday and IF Swansea beat Chelsea at home Sunday then I think Chelsea will be out of the title race.

Said it before, but Mourinho annoys me. It's the same old with him. Either not giving the opposition credit or saying his team won't win the league.

Mourinho is a bit like Robbie Savage.

Have him playing against you and you laff and jeer and generally revel in loathing him.

Have him play for you and you shout and cheer and applaud every tough tackle or chased-down ball.

The Chelsea fans ADORE Jose, as do the players it would seem. They would want no other manager at the club.

Personally I like Mourinho. He's a character, he has a glint in his eye, he's a wind-up merchant and he's his own bloke. I don't think he gives a shite about the media, what others think of him and whether he's liked more generally.

Above all, of course, he's a winner. A very succesful football manager who could continue to do well for many years... if he chooses to.

I rate and like him so much more than say, Wenger.... who comes across to me as a whingeing pussy these days.

He strikes me that, despite all his success and trophies, he's very bitter. Always having digs at other people, obsessed with playing mind games and rubbing others up the wrong way rather than focussing on his own side and the qualities they have.

He's the media's dream because they lap up the arguments between managers as it makes good copy, they give him an easy ride so he plays them perfectly. He wants desperately to be liked and adored.

If every manager was like Martinez it would be very boring.

Mourinho always deflects bad press about his players by moaning about something like the referee or some other excuse, it must make the players feel unbeatable. Sir Alex did it all the time. Remember what he said about Van Persie being killed by the ball vs Swansea?

Not a chance if we draw with City mate and Chelsea win, which is probably the likelihood of the weekend, Chelsea will be right back in it.

It's only the English media that laps up his every word. The Spanish just laughed at his 'mind games' as they looked ridiculous and his obsession with Barcelona while he was there was embarrassing by the end.

He's there to please the idiots, the sun readers and sky sports news obsessives who treat the game as a soap opera rather than a sport.

Saying you aren't challengers for the league when top in March took some balls though, I'll give him that. It's almost in his own mind he thinks people can't read a league table.

The Chelsea meathead fans can't have a bad word against him, talking to those sort of retards is incredibly frustrating.

I find it hard to believe anyone can really dislike Jose. What a glorious human being he is.

Eh, if you're about 12 years old and find kingfox hilarious.

He's undoubtedly a successful manager but his "mind games" and "banter" are frankly an embarrassment to himself.

The media sound like 12 year old girls on a first date when he talks to them at press conferences.

I don't think they even realise he is taking the piss out of them, he is refusing to take questions from The Times now as they have published the Diego Torres book extracts lol

I am not 12 and I do not find him funny. You need to stop these sweeping generalisations child.

I don't know Chelsea fans can be entertained by him personally or by his style of play.

Personally I think he is an egotistical willy puller, really embarrassing as well. The way he has to speak about other managers, players and clubs is something that whiskey nose face **** would do, I was hoping all that would have gone when Ferguson quit. But no, Jose had to come and try to make people laugh, maybe again that is to cover up his failings this season in the Premier League. Scraped through in Europe and third favourites to win the League, not the homecoming old Jose expected. Honestly thought he would rock back up to England and win the League a piece of piss.
