The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 It depends on the shirt as much as the occasion. If it was a plain white one you'd tuck it in. If it was a chequered one you'd leave it out else you'd be mistaken for a pikey as I said earlier, or a hooray henry about to graduate from Sandhurst!
FoxesAreBlue Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 How about I chuck this bad boy Ito the mixer then. Polo Shirt and Track Suit trousers (my work uniform) I'm an untucked kinda guy, it's just how I roll - my colleague however is an "innie" (geek)
Frost Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 Looks too scruffy not tucked in. Although I dont wear jeans so I guess trousers are different, therefore I shouldn't comment. You never wear jeans? Huh? So you just wear trousers all your life? Seems odd, no offence.
Finnegan Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 You never wear jeans? Huh? So you just wear trousers all your life? Seems odd, no offence. It's not odd, he's just stuck in 1965.
MPH Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 Who the hell would want to look like Jeremy Clarkson? And if you're going to wear jeans man, wear a belt. If the alternative is James May.....
purpleronnie Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 It's not odd, he's just stuck in 1965. errr no. BTW people wore jeans in the 60's. I always wear trousers, but I do 'go casual' I own 3 count them 3 pairs of combat trousers.
Finnegan Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 errr no. BTW people wore jeans in the 60's. I always wear trousers, but I do 'go casual' I own 3 count them 3 pairs of combat trousers. Oof, stuck in the 90s then!
purpleronnie Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 Oof, stuck in the 90s then! I'll catch up with the rest of you one day.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 This might seem a daft question but can a shirt be tucked out? I know this may have been raised before but not really looked at the thread before as high importance. T-shirts I leave out. Formal shirts tucked in trousers or out depending on occasion. So the answer is a choice of more than two. If you wear a vest over your shirt, then I suppose it could be "tucked out" I take my boots off before I get into bed,so does this mean I am a real "gent"?
Captain... Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 If you wear a vest over your shirt, then I suppose it could be "tucked out" I take my boots off before I get into bed,so does this mean I am a real "gent"? I bet you don't even piss in the shower, toff! This does have to be one of the oddest threads in GC, people are really taking it seriously whether you tuck it in or not, as the picture of Clarkson and May demonstrated you can look like a twat either way. It realty needs a bit more context to be any sort of serious discussion, but then it really doesn't warrant serious discussion. Incidentally generally out, especially if a casual shirt.
Guest MattP Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 Please say you're joking, £100! Not at all. As Ron said a good belt can last years.
Captain... Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 Not at all. As Ron said a good belt can last years. I reckon 10 £10 belts will last longer than 1 £100 belt, and you get 10 belts to choose from.
Guest MattP Posted 10 June 2013 Posted 10 June 2013 I reckon 10 £10 belts will last longer than 1 £100 belt, and you get 10 belts to choose from.Maybe. Though a £10 belt won't be fit to go out on the town in. I'm going to the French Oaks on Sunday and im going to have a blue shirt tucked into mustard coids with a red jumper and black trilby. Im going to look absolutely ridiculous.
Captain... Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 Maybe. Though a £10 belt won't be fit to go out on the town in. I'm going to the French Oaks on Sunday and im going to have a blue shirt tucked into mustard coids with a red jumper and black trilby. Im going to look absolutely ridiculous. Is that for a bet?
Guest MattP Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 lol Not at all. Part of going to the racing is trying to get away with looking as ridiculous as possible.
rico Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 Maybe. Though a £10 belt won't be fit to go out on the town in. I'm going to the French Oaks on Sunday and im going to have a blue shirt tucked into mustard coids with a red jumper and black trilby. Im going to look absolutely ridiculous. agreed
flowwolf Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 Just a question but just how do you " tuck " a shirt out ? As far as I know you can only tuck something in.
Rincewind Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 I asked the same question but got a piss take reply.
flowwolf Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 I asked the same question but got a piss take reply. Bring it on I say !
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 That's the nail on head. Some of you lot must look like a crowd from Coalville when you hit the town. Mate, some people don't even wear socks on proper nights out nowadays. Cameron's Britain.
Guest MattP Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 Heard it all now. David 'the sock snatcher' Cameron.
MikeyT Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Tucked in where it's a necessity such as wedding, funeral, interview, work etc. Always out at other times. I bloody hate getting dressed up anyway.
purpleronnie Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 . I bloody hate getting dressed up anyway. I have found my opposite.
Fox42 Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 Tucked in only for weddings, funerals etc. apart from that, always out. Looks like I stuffed a pillow in my shirt
Guest MattP Posted 31 August 2013 Posted 31 August 2013 I bloody hate getting dressed up anyway. Never understood this. I absolutely love it, nothing gives you a sense of pride more than looking at yourself in a mirror looking as smart as you can. It's even better at a wedding etc when you are surrounded by friends who you usually sit with in jeans and polo etc.
