cambridgefox Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 Ive not even heard of half of these shows.Mind you I've never watched an episode of Friends.Watched half once, thought this is shit American comedy. This is not for me. Now I did watch Lost of which I enjoyed, but at the end felt like I had wasted years of my life for no ending. I do like a good documentary on the Discovery channels.Watched one on North Korea the other day.No......wait. ..think it was Takeshi's Castle.
cambridgefox Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 Bit surprised at the lack of West Wing in here to be honest. I suppose there's been a hell of a lot of good TV since then thoughNow if you had said Green Wing. That was weird/ funny Statham was class olds on YouTube of him( Mark Heap.recently in Friday Night Dinner with the dog )

Guest MattP Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 I was going to do Dexter next, is the last series that bad (everyone is saying it) that I shouldn't bother?
RonnieTodger Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 Final season of How I met your mother premiered in the US last night. Just watched it online. Anyone as into this show as I am? Yep. That's come around quickly, as the penultimate series only just finished over here. Dont ruin anything!
21st Century Fox Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 I was going to do Dexter next, is the last series that bad (everyone is saying it) that I shouldn't bother? Seasons 1-4 are up there with some of the best shows around but then the original showrunner left and 5-8 are patchy. It's still a brilliant show with a fantastic premise but it has it's frustrating parts towards the end where coincidence is heaped on coincidence, plot holes appear, characters get twisted for shock value and they even tried to introduce an incest storyline (sort of). Definitely catch it but just be prepared for the eventually fizzle.

I only watch it when there's nothing else on tv. It's funny in places, but it's not consistently funny. It's more of a soap than a comedy programme imo. Britain still lead the way in comedy, always have done.My housemates are trying to convince me to watch inbetweeners. Watched two episodes the other night, I don't think it's that funny. It's ok in places. They love the constant swearing which always bugs me.

Fox92 Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 To be fair, I've probably got to watch a bit more of it before coming to a real conclusion. I agree with friends, yeah, I used to watch when it was aired.
lavrentis Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 Inbetweeners is just annoying now tbh. Same old jokes get boring after a while. Still not as overrated as The Wire.
lavrentis Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 Breaking Bad Only Fools and Horses Prison Break Game of Thrones I'm Alan Partridge Special shoutout to Curb Your Enthusiasm and Boardwalk Empire. Wire not even in top 8 for me.
Hollism Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Yep. That's come around quickly, as the penultimate series only just finished over here. Dont ruin anything! I won't Season 9 probably won't start until around February in the UK, but finish not long after it does stateside. They have a huge mid-season break over there with TV shows
Beliall Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 1. The Newsroom 2. Breaking Bad 3. Battlestar Galactica 4. Fringe 5. Dexter Thats just from what im watching now. All time list would be far too hard to work out I watch loads of series
Zingari Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Wagon Train Bonanza Rawhide The Virginian Bronco Lane I like a very broad variety of stuff so long as it's a western.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 TMWRNJ How did I forget that one and miss that you had already posted it when I made my first post? (again my thread reading skills are negatively exposed.) On a side point, quite a few people listed The IT Crowd - final episode tomorrow. Hoping it will be good and they can go out with a bang.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 On a side point, quite a few people listed The IT Crowd - final episode tomorrow. Hoping it will be good and they can go out with a bang. Series 1 of the IT Crowd is genuinely amongst my favourite comedy ever. Chris Morris completely steals every scene he's in - much as I love Matt Berry (and still enjoyed series 2,3, and 4), he's no comparison, really. I think it'll go out on a decent note.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Final season of How I met your mother premiered in the US last night. Just watched it online. Anyone as into this show as I am? It's a weird show, for me. Rarely gives me belly-laughs or anything and some of the characters annoy me to a worrying extent but they seem to nail dramatic moments bang on for a light-hearted comedy programme and it keeps me vaguely interested. I'd class it as a guilty pleasure. It helps that they've given the role of "The Mother" to somebody decent, very decent indeed.

There have been a few dark moments (Marshall's dad, Robin talking to her non-existant kids) that the cast have performed perfectly, but they don't feel totally out of place in a show with such silly moments, silly jokes, and silly characters. I doubt there's many who are crying with laughter all the way through, but I'm more often than not sitting there with a big grin on my face for 22 minutes, so that's good enough for me. Milloti's brilliant as well. So glad it's an unheard of actress. New face to Ted, new face to the audience kind of thing.

Cake Boss: The Next Great Baker is possibly the greatest competition created by man.
