Dan Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Eh, eh! Calm down, calm down! True though. If he does want out (which is possible given Forest seem to be genuinely interested) then there's no way Pearson will keep him around. Fingers crossed about this. Schmeichel to Hull would've been a horror but this would be something else. Seen his wife on twitter say its just rumours and nothing in it Good if so. Fingers crossed.
Guest MattP Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I've got a horrible feeling about this I'm afraid. Sounds like they might actually be interested. £1.5mil may be a shit offer but if he hears of it he may be interested and try to force a move himself - and that means he'll be gone. I'm not sure though. Really does depend how much he's enjoyed his time here. Me too, he is a fan after all. If I was in a vice-versa position at Forest I'd be trying to get myself a move to Leicester. I pray we'll turn anything down but I'm amazed how blaise our fans are over this.
MrSpaM Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I dont get why forest are signing players when every forest supporting mate I have says they are in the same position as us with ffp. Have they even sold anybody yet? How come forest can afford to splash the cash on players and we cant? somthing fishy going on
ManorFox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Don't worry about ManorFox, genuine troll plain and simple, don't feed it just ignore it and let it starve. Really? Sorry I don't conform to the happy clapper supporter make-up. For a few hundred quid a season I expect to see good quality footballers, and I don't and won't accept inferior players just because they happen to be playing in a Leicester City shirt. These players get paid a horrendous amount of money in salary and bonuses and yet they are not that good. Our team is mediocre despite spending millions on the squad in fees and salaries we are still at the same level as Barnsley, Bournemouth and Yeovil. Wes Morgan is okay, but would be worse off without him? No we would still be a mediocre championship club. The lad has never played higher than this division, he has limited pace so you won't find me fawning over him as if he is some sort of modern day Steve Walsh, Matt Elliott or Spencer Prior.
LCFC FOX Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Unlike us Forest don't have anyone to sell. No one at that club are on stupid wages. So they can afford to buy without selling first.
JayT - Always A Fox! Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 They let him go for next to nothing, can you lot of doubters really see Wes going back to that lot after we gave him the chance to return to first team football and then make him club captin? I think not - but hey ho this is football after all...

You're really comparing the quality of our side to the quality of two sides who were playing in League One last season, and one that was battling relegation all season? And you wonder why people think you're trolling?
Grey Fox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23046167 "Jim Price who is dealing with all transfers at Forest, has refused to deny any interest in Morgan and that is significant. In the past when I have put names to Price he has always flatly denied speculation or stories with no foundation."

How does a mediocre team finish 6th?? You my dear have less of a clue than the majority on here! Keep on truckin....

Fox92 Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Just out of interest. Anyone know what we paid for him? Not sure if it was £500,000 or £1,000,000. One of them, but I know it wasn't more than £1,000,000.
Simo86 Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Not sure if it was £500,000 or £1,000,000. One of them, but I know it wasn't more than £1,000,000. I thought it was around £800,000

It's amazing how a refusal to deny can be deemed newsworthy.Poor journalism, trying to make something of nothing.
Fox92 Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I thought it was around £800,000 Could have been, I know it's somewhere between £500,000 and £1,000,000.
whitlock Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Surely if he wanted to move to us when he did then that meant he wanted out from Forest? Not quite sure what would make him want to go back, it's not like they are a prem team? He won't be going no where.

By your logic, QPR were on par with Man Utd last season. I see Tahiti are at the same level as Spain these days too... And yes, we would be much worse off with Morgan, being one of if not the best centre back in the division. To replace him for the amount we're reportedly being offered (and his reported wages) would be a hell of a task PS. Look up the definition of "mediocre". Coming in the top 25% of the table despite a very rocky patch means on the whole we did very well.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 I thought it was around £800,000 Yeah I think that was it.
Danno Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 @andielcfcsutton: @Shubbzy83 I really hope the rumours about Wes going back to Forest are wrong, we need him to stay. x #qualityplayer #tank #captainfantastic @Shubbzy83: @andielcfcsutton there just rumours flying about!

NewburyFox Posted 25 June 2013 Posted 25 June 2013 Would definitely keep him, we're not going to be able to find better for the money that we'd receive. Top centre back at this level.

If you think we did very well last season then I am afraid you are easily pleased. The squad as a whole is of poor quality for the money that has been expended on them.

Never understood this arguement A ridiculous amount of players have taken the steps up from obscurity all over the world throughout football history. Easy examples are plentyfull in the Premier League, Chris Smalling, Ricky Lambert, Grant Holt, Ashley Williams, Leon Brittan and Jelevic just off the top of my head. The only people who make the decisions for these players to be given the chance to play at a higher level are the people who are in place and are qualified to know; now tell me . . . what do you know?
