Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 It genuinely wouldn't surprise if this is all some mad Mike Ashley scheme to save some face on the whole Wonga deal which went down hideously up there. Slap Cisse in a top with a local charity plastered on it and Ashley / Llambias look less 'evil.'

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 Thought LAM-BE-ZEE had resigned according to Kinnear? I didn't know that. Whatever other clown they've got running things behind the scenes now, then.
nickyboy Posted 23 July 2013 Author Posted 23 July 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-23424012 It's just too perfect a story not to even attempt a joke here
Guest MattP Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 One thing that always does make me laugh about religion (Muslims by the finest as well) is the ability to argue black is white with a straight face. Sat at the table, chips on, blackjack moving and still claim you don't gamble
theessexfox Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 Wow. Thought he had some morals and some admirability to begin with
nickyboy Posted 23 July 2013 Author Posted 23 July 2013 Have to say, I won't this post not knowing this and just saw hypocrisy on what was ok on a shirt, but this has shown how much of one he actually is I now hope that Newcastle fine him as the 'moral' action in relation to his beliefs is nothing more than taking the piss to try and get a move
Hollism Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 I actually agreed with his rights to not support Wonga, but now he's just a cvnt
foxoffderby Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Hypocrisy of the highest order. Similar to the number of Arabs who own race horses yet they say they don't take part in gambling of any form. London is full of rich foreign visitors who frequent night clubs and Casinos because they can't do it in their country of origin. Going back to Cisse, I think he's just wants a move and this is a way of forcing the clubs hand without him handing in a transfer request and therefore losing his bonuses (which indirectly come from companies like Wonga) Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy.
ADK Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Should be applauded whatever his motive. Hopefully more players will refuse to advertise these companies, i know i would.
Guest MattP Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Should be applauded whatever his motive. Hopefully more players will refuse to advertise these companies, i know i would. He should be applauded for lying over religious beliefs in order to force a transfer and get more money? He's worse than Wonga.
Kitchandro Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Should be applauded whatever his motive. Hopefully more players will refuse to advertise these companies, i know i would. No he shouldn't be applauded, his motives are far more important than the gesture. He's not doing it for morals, or for religion which would have been silly anyway, he's doing it for money and pretending it's about religion. Like I said earlier in the thread, if he was really bothered about the ethics of Wonga he'd be speaking out against the club using the sponsor rather than just making it a personal thing. He's obviously not bothered if the club advertise the company, because he's fine with everyone else wearing it.
marko Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Should be applauded whatever his motive. Hopefully more players will refuse to advertise these companies, i know i would. No he shouldn't, he's a complete hypocrite. He's not had any problem playing with the Barclays badge on his sleeve, or the Virgin Money logo plastered on his chest and both charged interest last time I looked. If this latest case was really about his "religion" he'd have objected to playing in both these logos. Don't be fooled Mr Cisse is pulling this one purely for the ££££. Still, I guess if he doesn't succeed, he can always go and stick a few quid on Red 21 again...

Sat at the table, chips on, blackjack moving and still claim you don't gamble On a side note, the number of muslims that you'll see in Gala Casino is unreal and some have no shame in even going in their religious clothing! Rather odd.

Rather odd. I saw a woman in a burka playing the roulette in William Hill once, I actually couldn't believe it, Dubai was great as well, loads of sheikhs everywhere playing online poker on phones and drinking vodka and blackcurrent. Think I posted a picture of it on Facebook actually. edit: "poker sheikh"
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Has anyone here ever looked at a football team and suddenly felt the urge to buy something dur to the sponsors on their shirt. Don't think I've ever bought anything adevertised on a City shirt since the days of Walkers Crisps, but I don't think that influenced me at all... I've never drank Ind Coope (to my knowledge) are they still around?

ousefox Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-23424012 Oh dear! Been in there many times. It was also the place that caused the Bardsley and a another Sunderland player fall out.
Fox92 Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 lol Double standards. Lying about beliefs, how low people will go.
