Guest MattP Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 It's ridiculous just how easy Andrea Pirlo makes the game look at times.
MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I see Valencia have adapted our "Aaargh, you're shit" goalkeeper chant. Basel are holding up fine up until now... Only 70 more minutes to go...
MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Sevilla are running havoc... 3-0 already, and only 30 minutes played!
Stadt Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 FCK have been the leading ship of Danish club football ever since Laudrup left Brøndby, and they're likely to remain the leading club, despite underachieving this year. No other club bar Brøndby have the infrastructure to compete in Europe. No other club have the finances that FCK do. What FC Nordsjælland did two years ago was nothing short of stupendous. They lost their whole defense the following season with Okore, Bjelland, Parkhurst and Jesper Hansen all departing. FC Midtjylland have had a great season, but if they lose their 2 or 3 best players, they will not compete for honours next season, same goes for AaB. This leaves FCK as the only real contender every year, but a dreadful first half of the season means other teams have seized on an opportunity that's not likely to happen again any time soon. Why FCK aren't competing better in Europe, I do not know. They obviously do not recruit the same kind of talent that Basel have in their ranks. Maybe it's the coaching and tactics that's inadequate. Hard to say... I can't help but laugh every time I see Bjelland's name.
MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 This is going to be a nightmare in the second half... Valencia... again. 2-0 now. The first goal was initiated by a clearly lacklustre and unnecessary diagonal pass... And it turned the entire game upside down. Ayayayay... Basel need one goal... One goal only to make this a bit easier.
One Legged Beaver Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 It's ridiculous just how easy Andrea Pirlo makes the game look at times. I could watch him for hours on end! (as my profile picture and signature may suggest)
MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 This Basel Valencia game is scintillating. And as one-sided as a match can be... I'm scared. But still hope Basel can cling onto this result.
MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Basel are getting annihilated... 3-0 now and it's not looking good.
shen Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 I can't help but laugh every time I see Bjelland's name.
MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Basel Porto Basel had no chance tonight. Well, maybe for about 38 minutes, then they collapsed. Too much to deal with at once - injuries, suspensions, badmouthing Valencia players and the referee, silly tackles, little passion, too tired. And Valencia sensed blood when they got their first... It it hadn't been for Sommer in goal, they would've lost this 6-0, 7-0 after 90 minutes already. Still, a great European campaign from Basel, did the whole country proud once more and I hope they stack up neatly for next season. As it seems, a couple of first-teamers need to move on, they're not motivated enough anymore.
kingcarr21 Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Sevilla vs Valencia Benfica vs Juventus Should be a cracking semi final The final is held at Juventus ground if they make the final they have to use the away dressing room as the winner of sevilla and valencia are drawn as the 'home' team for the final
MC Prussian Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 I wouldn't mind Valencia winning the EL title this year. It would give them a little much-needed extra cash to finally finish their Nou Mestalla. http://talksport.com/football/valencia-dream-being-spains-manchester-city-risk-ending-malaga-14010674428
ScouseFox Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 sceeeeeenes in valencia. sevilla go to the second leg with a 2-0 lead, go 3-0 behind on the night so 3-2 on agg and score the winning away goal in injury time. benfica defend like champs to deny juve, too. pirlo spent the last 20 minutes stood 30 yards out like jonny wilkinson waiting for a quick pass from his scrum half so he could lash home but not to be. sevilla v benfica final in a few weeks. benfica should win it. hope so.
MC Prussian Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Benfica have paid a rather hefty price for that aggregate win against Juve. Markovic saw a straight red for a tussle off the pitch towards the end, Sulejmani received his third yellow and can't play in the final, Garay had to be stretched off the field with a nasty-looking facial injury (he got hit accidentally by the end movement of a Pogba scissor kick), Pérez received two yellows and is ruled out, as well. Personally, I'd love Sevilla to win it. Benfica in the past few years have developed some sort of perennial bottler image - always so close to a trophy or a final.
MC Prussian Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I'm curious to find out whether Benfica's Guttman curse lives one for another season... Only 48 more years to go.
Jimothy Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 How are Benfica not leading after that attack? The curse!
bovril Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 It's been a cracking game so far, fast paced and physical.
HEGGSY Posted 14 May 2014 Posted 14 May 2014 I love watching penalty shoot outs. When Leicester or England aren't involved.
