l444ry Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 He's going off with that injury now. "Still not having it Clive, he'll be up and running soon". Hope the idiot apologised for his mistake. Cabral is now out for the rest of the season after a cruciate ligament operation.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Harry Kanes just played up front for Spurs
SystonFox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Harry Kanes just played up front for Spurs For 4 minutes. Hardly worth a mention. Bet it took him ages to gel his hair aswell
MC Prussian Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Not so much looking forward to Basel's two games against RB Salzburg now. I can actually see the Swiss side lose both games. Although the Austrian league is quite poor and them leading the rest by 19 points already, Salzburg beat Ajax twice and offer plenty of attacking prowess.

Juventus vs Fiorentina is quite a tie with all the history behind their rivalry.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Tie of the round has to be Betis-Sevilla
StanSP Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Tie of the round has to be Betis-Sevilla Juve vs Fiorentina does it for me.
Tom17LCFC Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Some absolute crackers. Spurs v Benfica Porto v Napoli Juve v Fiorentina Even Ludogorets Valencia.
Fox in the North Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Tie of the round has to be Betis-Sevilla I went to their league game last year. Mental doesn't even cover it.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I went to their league game last year. Mental doesn't even cover it. Said to be the best derby in Spain because it's balanced. Two clubs of a similar size unlike the Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia derbies. Also should be more away support than you'd get in a La Liga game? Juve vs Fiorentina does it for me. Another good one. Fiorentina are said to hate Juve but then I guess everyone in Italy hates Juve.
Corky Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 at the Benfica coach winding up Sherwood then shoving away his own coaching staff
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Sevilla losing at home have fooked up my bet tonight good and proper! 3-5 On as well!
bovril Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Disappointing night in Sofia, 3-0 reverse to Valencia. Still atmosphere was good, 40,000 fans in the stadium, 20,000 of whom were smoking or drinking.
Guest MattP Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Tim Sherwood. Just imagine having him as your manager, the man is an absolute moron. Only in England could a man like him be put in charge of a football club.
Uncle Albert Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Just imagine having him as your manager, the man is an absolute moron. Only in England could a man like him be put in charge of a football club. I've just been thinking about the man and how much of a nobhead he is. You will be able to answer this question Matt I think, how come Sherwood was never considered good enough to play for England? Obviously he was a Premier League winning captain, was he just deemed not good enough or were there just better options ahead of him?

You will be able to answer this question Matt I think, how come Sherwood was never considered good enough to play for England? Obviously he was a Premier League winning captain, was he just deemed not good enough or were there just better options ahead of him? We just had far better players at the time from memory, Ince, Platt, Batty, Scholes, Gazza all ahead of him at various points. Even Anderton, Rob Lee and Redknapp were seen as better players. It was a pretty strong era, we even had strikers like Fowler and Ferdinand who couldn't make the team, the Premier League top scorer was Cole was one year and he couldn't make the squad. Le Tissier had major talent but couldn't get near. How we went from 96-2008 without winning anything is a massive mystery when you look at the squads we had, the fact Greece won tournaments, teams like Croatia, Turkey, South Korea etc reached semi finals over that time. No idea what went wrong.
bovril Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 My favourite line from today's papers is "Sherwood confronted Jesus". Well I suppose being Spurs boss makes you pretty desperate.

They are no better off now really than under AVB. Sherwood had a good honeymoon period but that is changing now and they still are getting thumped by top teams.
kingcarr21 Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 They are no better off now really than under AVB. Sherwood had a good honeymoon period but that is changing now and they still are getting thumped by top teams. Does make you wonder if they stuck with AVB would they have started to improve?
Corky Posted 14 March 2014 Posted 14 March 2014 Does make you wonder if they stuck with AVB would they have started to improve? Probably not, they'd just had two thrashings by Man City and Liverpool and were struggling to score goals. I'm not sure AVB was totally happy with all the signings made and with the amount of money spent it would cause friction. Probably the right decision to sack him, but Sherwood was never a long-term solution.

No idea what went wrong Our inability to beat any other team considered to be a major player in that space of time bar the Dutch in 1996 and the Argies at 2002, and they were both in the group stages. And given that we went out of 96,98.04 and 06 on pens our inability to take penalties. We also didn't really get the draws some of those teams got, Turkeys especially was a bit of a cake walk.
Ross-Kemp Posted 20 March 2014 Author Posted 20 March 2014 Tim Sherwood is ****ing useless. He's playing a left back and a central midfielder at centre half. 3 wingers and to top it off an attacking midfielder in a defensive midfield role. He is stealing a living, his bench is made up of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksson and 5 kids who no-one has heard of.
