Zingari Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 I was rather hoping it was going to be Russell Grant
Captain... Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 But why? If you've not got Nolan and Bale involved then it is just a dude in tights, if they had Bale's Batman teaming up with Superman, then I'd possibly be excited, Is the latest Superman film any good?

I agree, it would be awesome if it was Bale's Batman and Nolan was involved (he was a producer on Man Of Steel so maybe he'll be a part of it). I thought the latest Superman was very good, some epic fighting scenes and it was a bit darker than the older films.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 It's not like Batman hasn't teamed up with other characters before. I can't see what all the fuss is about: It's only three quid as well
goose2010 Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 Terrible choice would rather him direct it than star in it. Honestly the only way this film can be saved is if Bryan Cranston plays Lex Luther (which he is rumoured to be)
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 Should have been Richard Armitage. Terrible choice would rather him direct it than star in it. Honestly the only way this film can be saved is if Bryan Cranston plays Lex Luther (which he is rumoured to be) I always thought William Hague would be an awesome Lex Luthor, that voice is scary!
Webbo Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 I always thought William Hague would be an awesome Lex Luthor, that voice is scary! A Yorkshire Lex Luther? "By eck Batman thous a reet chuffing nuisance".

21st Century Fox Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 This'll end well This had potential to be quite good, especially if they actually cast a much older, more experienced Batman, like they claimed they might. I remember years ago Darren Aronofsky was going to cast either Clint Eastwood or Paul Newman as Batman, now that sort of thing would've differentiated itself from the Bale/Nolan films.
fleckneymike Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 Mickey Rourke, there's your Batman right there.
FrankieADZ Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 should have been Adam West or something way off....like Danny DeVito
Captain... Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 The thing is though, is it Nolan's Batman with his backstory, just played by Affleck, or is it going to be a new batman, thus requiring a bit of re-imagining of his back story. In which case, assuming most viewers will have seen the "Man of Steel", a large part of the film will be introducing Batman, and then working him in with Superman. Where the Avengers was successful was in assuming that you had seen the other films introducing the Avengers and it got straight in there.
21st Century Fox Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 Mickey Rourke, there's your Batman right there. Perfect. After The Dark Knight Rises, Batman gets bored, decides to take up a career in boxing, he's not very good, gets his face pummeled and requires reconstructive surgery. Warner Bros., I'll take that in cash thanks.

I'd like a return to the quirky, surreal Batman of the comics (at least, the comics when I used to read them.) Nolan did Batman in a way that was semi-plausible and I ddin't like that at all. Not darkly, insane enough.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 Afflek? Srsly? I think it could be as good as Pearl Harbour

That's fair enough, but it is going to eat into the film introducing a new batman, one option could have been an older actor, playing the Nolan batman but 15/ 20 years down the line having been driven out of Gotham City.
goose2010 Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 How Much i dont like the idea of him playing Batman I also through Health Ledger playing the Joker was going to be a terrible choice to..........

Without wanting to sound callous, if he hadn't died I don't think he would have recieved half as much acclaim for the role.

danny. Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 Without wanting to sound callous, if he hadn't died I don't think he would have recieved half as much acclaim for the role. gotta disagree there, he absolutely nailed that role
Leicesterpool Posted 23 August 2013 Posted 23 August 2013 Doesn't fit the bill for me, a good casting would have been either Daniel Craig or even that guy who played the K in Men In Black 3 Josh Brolin
