Matt Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 ...is what they say when football fans are outraged at something, well i'm saying it to twatty One Direction fans. Gabby Agbonlahor has apologised for his tackle on One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson during Stiliyan Petrov’s charity match at Celtic Park. The Aston Villa striker left the boyband member writhing in pain on the floor after clattering into the 21-year-old as he went to clear the ball. Tomlinson limped off the field and threw up twice on the touchline, which lead to an outpouring of emotion on Twitter from One Direction fans – including ‘death threats’ aimed at the Villa man. ‘It was just one of those things. I’ll apologise to Louis when we meet up with everybody else after the game,’ Agbonlahor said of the challenge. @gabby_10 This guy hurt Louis knee. I shall hurt your face. I better hear that you apologized or I will find you, and I will kill you. @Louis_Tomlinson Are you ok?? If he hurt you I promise that I'll kill him!!! No one can hurt my baby!!! Grrrr!! My whole timeline is full of pictures of Louis getting hurt. I'm going to kill that guy!!!!!!!! HOW DARE YOU HURT LOUIS?!—ProudOfYouLouis:') One Direction are annoying, however if their dweeby little fans weren't the way they were they be no where near as annoying. As for the tackle? C'mon Louis, if you are serious about playing for Donny you're going to have to deal with alot more than that tackle, you'll be throwing up a hell of alot more. Toughen up lad.
Vacamion Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 If he was spewing, it shouldn't have been because of that tackle. Must have been on the pop the night before, IMO.

That's what I was thinking but I was going with the article claiming it was because of the tackle, gave me more reason to slag the twat off!
Father Ted Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 He was more worried by his hair than his injury too by the looks of it.
Stadt Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 @@thefulhamblog: "Directioners" are total arseholes. Worrying about a sore knee when there's Stan Petrov sitting in the stands with Leukaemia. Grow up." Sums it up for me
Corky Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 I love the way their "fans" talk about them as though they know these people personally. Bunch of morons. Sad that Petrov's day has been overshadowed by all this nonsense.

Sad that Petrov's day has been overshadowed by all this nonsense. In fairness I and many others do the same with our players. "thought Dave had a poor game today, not his usual self" is the kind of thing that gets said a lot. Although I definitely think there's a stronger link for football supporters than there is for fans of a boyband
Finnegan Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Most of these "fans" are probably about 12/13 years old. Move on.

Guest Bilo Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 On a lighter note, imagine what Wes would have done to him.
Guest shearfox Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Who cares what a bunch of 12/13 year old girls think...
Fox92 Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 It wasn't a 'tackle' though, more like a shoulder barge.
Leicesterpool Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 It wasn't even a tackle more like a tap. He should stick to singing!
21st Century Fox Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 If only it'd been Šimunić making that tackle... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cwqbyju9Lq4
Stadt Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 If only it'd been Šimunić making that tackle...He'd be dead
Finnegan Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 To be fair, that Simunic tackle relies on Suljemani having built up some speed. I can't see Tomlinson having done that. That little **** from JLS, however, now we're talking. Snap him in half.
Kitchandro Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 If only it'd been Šimunić making that tackle... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cwqbyju9Lq4 I'd just have given him a friendly ticking off for that.

I find it so intriguing the way that Twitter has created this kind of cult following. Justin Bieber has his 'Beliebers' and One Direction have their 'Directioners' and within minutes a hashtag related to either of them will trend worldwide. There are literally millions of girls out there obsessed with them, to the point that they'll issue threats (sometimes death threats) and insults to anyone who doesn't share their love of them. It's all completely manufactured and cultivated by publicists and PR teams of course, to the point where these girls are subscribing to, as I say, a cult following. I've seen hashtags on there recently such as #newUKboyband and #newUKboybandcoming - obviously generated by record labels so that this 'new boyband' will instantly have a band of loyal followers on Twitter, all with the aim of making huge amounts of money. In many ways it's a form of pretty sinister exploitation, and it makes me hate what the UK music industry has become even more. Obviously bands like The Beatles, Take That and Westlife had huge female followings back in the day, but I'm not sure it ever reached the levels of attachment from the fans as we see today through Twitter. Screaming at concerts, turning up outside hotels, fan merchandise, all fine... but censoring what's said about them, parody accounts and Tweeting as if you know them? It's all very bizarre to me! I can't help but wonder what some of these seemingly very unhinged girls will turn out to be like in the future and how they'll feel when they realise that what they subscribe to at the minute really isn't all it was cracked up to be...

To be fair, even as a massive Beatles fan myself, I look at some of their early music and a lot of them are songs based around love and girls. But then the Beatles grew up; they dramatically changed themselves, the songwriting changed and the music changed.I just cannot see One Direction growing up, they are still considered 'boys' atm. I dont take them too seriously, the music doesn't stand for anything. I don't actually think they'll be around for that much longer. I understand that they are probably the most successful act from XFactor, but all the acts only have their 15 minutes of fame before disappearing. Compare that to the likes of Paul Weller, Rod Stewart and Elton John that have had long, successful, consistent careers and are still writing and releasing music (obviously you cannot actually compare, but I cannot see One Direction lasting that long).
Guest Bilo Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 I'll sack off Dunne for Walshie, on reflection it's only fair.
