Walshy5 Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 Did anyone see it?! Making out like it was one of the biggest matches in the football calender And some moron even compared it to the Merseyside and Manchester derbys I know forest fans who see us as just as big a rival as Derby so why do they over hype this so much?!!
Captain... Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 Said something very similar on another thread: Not got a clip anywhere, although there is an interview with him on foxes player might be the same one. Just thought it was interesting, first that he was "hammered on twitter" his words, but then how it was a good thing as it made him want to improve to show the fans what he was worth. Paraphrasing slightly, the interview was about 60 seconds long after they had a big wank-a-thon over the Derby Forest match, some ex-ram clown claimed it was the equal of the Merseyside and Manchester derbies Did you see the Vardy interview or had you switched off in disgust? (I did, but then got shouted at so put it back on).
jonthefox Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 Natalie Jackson will be stroking her love kebab over this one.

Guesty Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 It should really be called Nottingham Today where we occasionally talk about the rest of the East Midlands if **** all's happened in Nottingham or someones been murdered or raped elsewhere and we can't ignore it.
Libertine Dream Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 It's a shit rivalry, never would you get Man Utd sing 'It's United and Liverpool, you're all on your own' to Man City. I'm also glad we don't have one of these 'rivalries', singing 'Forest are losing' and celebrating when they go behind to Burnley in the cup is pathetic
Kitchandro Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 I've said it before and I'll say it again, they're a couple of small-time fanbases who need one another to cling onto their past glories, because everyone else has forgotten about them. The only way they can muster up any kind of pride or reason to shout is when they play each other. And still nobody else is watching them.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 We don't need a rivalry when over the last 15 years we have consistently been the best team in the East Midlands.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 I'm just waiting for BJS to come on and talk about the big nosed ginger bird being full of Billy's love juice or something similar
Harry - LCFC Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 It's barely a rivalry is it? They love each other to bits.
I am Rod Hull Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 It's barely a rivalry is it? They love each other to bits. They do, they really really do
Leicester_lad_92 Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 It's barely a rivalry is it? They love each other to bits. Hahahaha this!! 😂😂
blueonyou Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 perhaps it's something to do with the fact that Derby is close (closer than us) to Nottingham
FoxyPalace.com Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 Who cares, Winning promotion will do all the talking for us!
nlukka Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 I did think it was cringe-worthy the other night that Derby fans started singing about Forest losing, it does seem like they have some kind of inbred infatuation with each other.
LCFC FOX Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 We're all on our own We're all on our own Pride of the midlands We're all on our own
Beliall Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 We're all on our own We're all on our own Pride of the midlands We're all on our own nice. if thats not a chant at the walkers it should be
Bettsj2 Posted 27 September 2013 Posted 27 September 2013 I seen the Vardy interview yeh. Interesting comments about some of our fans on twitter. What did he say?
hairyfox Posted 28 September 2013 Posted 28 September 2013 They are united in their indifference to us, would love a rivalry like theirs to be honest. I remember when they beat us 5-1, I was gutted on monday, the forest chaps at work didn't even realise that we took it so seriously in the times before twitter.
Voll Blau Posted 28 September 2013 Posted 28 September 2013 I've got no problem with admitting theirs is the biggest derby in the region, but they do bum each other something ferocious when it comes to 'fester/the bindippers'.
crisp packet Posted 28 September 2013 Posted 28 September 2013 Oh they both hate us !! Older fans do .Only the last few years we have been ' on our own' .... Since the hideous Brian clough cup http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Clough_Trophy
Guest Bilo Posted 28 September 2013 Posted 28 September 2013 It is ridiculously overhyped. I can name any number of local derbies that are much more significant; the Manchester derby, the Man Utd-Liverpool rivalry, Sunderland-Newcastle, Liverpool-Everton, Arsenal-Spurs and Cardiff-Swansea to name but a few. All are more visceral, more important and more noticed by the outside football world. The Derby-Forest rivalry is, to be honest, a throw back to when the two teams were actually competitive top tier sides rather than mediocre second tier sides, one of whom hasn't competed in the top flight since last century and the other became a laughing stock when it did so five years ago. It's very much a faded rivalry now, virtually nobody outside the East Midlands will be circling it on their fixture calendar as a 'must-watch' these days.

Since the hideous Brian clough cup http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Clough_Trophy The trophy itself is a silver loving cup with a lid. Quel surprise!
Socks Posted 28 September 2013 Posted 28 September 2013 Who cares? Last time we played Derby we beat them.. Last time we played Florist we beat them (our best win for ages ;-) I'm watching it and hoping Derby do them. I HATE Forest with a passion.
