Do fans protest when these rich guys come in? NO

So if you are happy to make a deal with the devil in the first place, don't be surprised when the devil in question turns out to be a stubborn egotistic control freak that wants things how he sees it.

 

And that goes for Leicester also, OK we've not had our shirt or name changed, but the silent seemingly invisible elephant in the room is all the money our owners has put in has been LOANED to our club at 8% interest. So lets cut through all the we love your club crap and realise very quickly that these people are businessmen who are not used to being told no when they want something.

I can't help but feel that since the match day experience and subsequently the fan demographic has changed, fans have become less interested in having fun with mates at the weekend and more so with getting to the premier league and staying there, whatever the cost is I.e clubs name changing or club colours changing.

We're doing it the right way which is part of the reason I'm so adamant we stick with the current set up, it's so damn likeable.

I keep going to start a post in this thread and then realizing I can't be arsed because football has a habit of turning otherwise intelligent people in to ****ing idiots.

Bottom line is, if you're more inclined to get organized and protest being called Hull Tigers instead of Hull City or wearing red instead of wearing blue than you are to protest disgusting ticket prices, disgusting player wages, rejection of safe standing, ridiculous TV deals keeping the richest clubs richest and making our top flight a procession, clubs like ourselves, Man City and Chelski risking crippling debt to buy success, the foul shambles in Qatar and **** knows what else then you're a ****.

Oh and if you've paid money in to any of the above but you've had the audacity to tell Wimbledon, Cardiff or Hull fans that they're plastic sellouts if they don't boycott then you're an even bigger **** and a hypocrite.

If we voted with our feet then how are we supposed to mount a visible protest? I'm sure IF, and that's a big if. The name change happens, then people will vote with their feet. Having spoken with many, many fans this will happen. There will be no hiding that fact when our crowds are 10,000 down next year.

 

I have every confidence though that the name change will not happen. Even highly regarded marketing experts are now chipping in to say that Allams theory is garbage. There are only so many holes that a dam, even of Assam Allams scale can cope with.

 

The only people showing support for a change are the sort of people who choose what political party to support based on who their parent voted for. 

 

You've had a bit of media attention since that TV match. But guess what? Allam didn't give a shit. He's still going ahead with it.

 

FFS stop giving him your money.

 

Maybe the FA won't approve it. I really hope they don't. But these protests aren't the thing that will stop it happening.

Hull manager Steve Bruce believes Allam should be granted his wish.

He said last month: ''I can understand [the unhappiness] because in our country especially we are really big traditionalists and a lot of people have supported the club since the year dot, where it has been Hull City AFC.

''But the owner has come in and he's in a different culture and for the money he has put into the club if he thinks Hull Tigers is his way forward then we have to respect it.

''If he asks us to play in pink and white stripes on Saturday we have to do it because without him there wouldn't be either a Hull City or a Hull Tigers."

What do you think most of the money was spent on mate? Because it wasn't all spunked lining up high class brasses for Sven if you'll pardon the pun.

The money went on players.... and a lot of shit players in some cases... Beckford.. Mills etc.

What you fail to acknowledge is that our club has not been invested in, it's been loaned to at 8% interest. 

So we might not be having our name changed, but we are being played with in a dangerous manner.

Proud of what we are doing? We have accumulated three times the debt that sent us into administration and are reliant on an individual hanging around (whilst juicing us to coin a loan sharks phrase) to keep the club alive. It's ****ing disgraceful.

As for Hull fans its time to either put up or shut up, if you still go to watch and spend your money you deserve everything you get.

It doesn't bother me that the rule changes are the reason we're cutting back, the fact remains that we're moving towards more 'moral' methods, other clubs aren't of course.

 

Promotion this season would be acquired in the right way on the whole and yet we're supposed to apologise for it? I certainly won't. The past was bad I agree and yes our 2003 promotion can definitely be criticised but I certainly won't feel guilty should we go up this season.

Oh and the 20mill plus they bought the ground for that sits in there name not the name of LCFC.

 

Oh and I suspect the 50mill will be more at the end of this season as we will still make an operating loss.

 

They did not give the money we have spent they lent the club the money and at the moment it's all failed.

These debts of ours were not accumulated this season for the most part so they should be thought of as part of our methods this year. They came largely in the past when I agree we did not behave well at all. Again I really have to emphasise when this happened exactly: right now we aren't really a borrow and spend club so it's unfair to give big criticism of the current set up for this.

 

I don't want to be rude or anything but you all keep making the same mistake in my eyes and that is attributing past misbehaviour to what we're doing now. I also dislike what we've done, believe me I do, our 2003 promotion was plain wrong and but that was before and this is now. Either way I have it very clear in my mind that we are currently a pretty well behaved club which makes me happy.

 

To address the words you highlighted: "we're doing it the right way." Yes, we are. But at the same time it's definitely true that we weren't doing it the right way.

The City Till We Die campaign group is disappointed to learn that Hull City AFC has formally written to the Football Association requesting to change the name of our club to Hull Tigers, as of the 2014-2015 season. When City Till We Die met with Hull City AFC owner Dr Assem Allam on 1 November, he assured us that any name change would not occur for two to three years, and that it would not go ahead without supporter consultation, or without the benefits being proven by research. No such research or consultation has taken place.

Commentators on the sport and experts in marketing alike have reacted to Dr Allam’s name-change plans with widespread derision, while his intemperate remarks about Hull City supporters have been roundly condemned. Single-mindedness is not the only way to win respect; listening to the counsel of others and being prepared to concede that you may have made a mistake can also be a sign of strength. Sadly, the events of recent weeks suggest that our owner may not appreciate this.  

This matter is now in the hands of the only people who have the right to make such a decision: the football authorities. On 2 December, City Till We Die supplied the FA with a timeline dossier on the name-change proposals, for their consideration. On 4 December we met with officials of the Premier League, who told us that any such material changes to the heritage of British football should be carried out in consultation with supporters and wider stakeholders in the game. They also assured us that they would approach the FA to discuss how these important matters can be protected within the framework of their respective rules.

The FA is an organisation with a rich and proud history; this year, it is celebrating its 150th anniversary. This Saturday, as part of those celebrations, numerous FA dignitaries will be at the KC Stadium to honour Hull-born Ebenezer Cobb Morley, one of the founding fathers of Association Football. We remain confident that, with the eyes of the whole footballing world upon them, the FA will make the right decision, and act to protect not only the heritage and traditions of Hull City AFC, but also those of other clubs whose identities may come under threat in the future. Now that the club has officially written to the Football Association requesting to change our playing name to “Hull Tigersâ€, the time is right to focus our campaign on the FA. And there is no better time to be doing so than during our home game against Stoke City. 

The FA are celebrating 150 years of their history this year. As part of the celebrations, Saturday 14 December has been designated Ebenezer Morley Day, in honour of the Hull-born man who was the FA’s first secretary, and is considered one of the founding fathers of Association Football. FA dignitaries will be at the KC to watch the game, so let’s make our voices heard loud and clear!

In addition to the “City Till I Die†song we sing at 19.04 minutes into every game, we are encouraging City supporters to sing two extra songs. Join us in singing “We say no, FA, we say no†and “Everywhere we go, let the FA know, we are Hull Cityâ€, and keep the songs going at future games. 

And that’s not the only way you can help us make sure, over the coming weeks, that the custodians of the game understand the strength of feeling on this subject. As promised, we will producing and distributing “No To Hull Tigers†postcards to send to the FA.
