Correct unfortunately, if he was THAT good he'd probably be there already with the scouting networks of this day and age. Very few slip through the net.

That said, I remember a thread on here from 4-5 years ago saying we had a young lad called George Taft at 15-16 that was "an absolute certainly for World Cup 2014 for England" Best youngster we have had since Lineker.

And now he's playing for York lol lol

lol kinell. Who the hell said that?

I can't remember exactly but it was the same guy who said we would rue the day we released Tomi Petrescu when he turned up in a Real Madrid shirt.

The guy treated Championship Manager like heroin.

My Son was fortunate enough to play in the same Oadby Owls team as Layton Ndukwu for 3 seasons before Layton was taken on by the LCFC academy at the age of 9.

It was obvious from a very early age that he was an exceptional footballer. When he started he was playing in the age group that was a year up from his proper age group but he was still the best player on the pitch almost every week. As an attacking left sided player he had skill, pace, strength and two good feet. He scored goals with his left foot, with his right foot and with his head.

Layton only turned 15 last month but has continued to develop his game to a very high standard at the Leicester City Academy and is still playing one or sometimes two years above his own age group. He has now been rewarded with a call up to the England u16’s squad for the Victory Shield Home International matches versus Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland. The first match for England is against Wales at Kidderminster Harriers tomorrow night (4th October) and it is is being shown live on Sky Sports (7:30pm KO).

It is still too early to say how far Layton could go in the game or with Leicester City, but believe me when I say this boy has huge potential and it would be brilliant to see him make the breakthrough to the Leicester first team in the next 2 to 3 years.

Good luck Layton, I'll be watching on TV tomorrow and cheering you on. I'm sure that you’ll make Oadby Owls, Leicester City & England proud!

Great post, thank you for your insights, I look forward to watching him play.

Foxes fans will have the chance to see two of City’s young stars in international action for England Under-16s on Friday 4 October as they take on Wales in the Sky Sports Victory Shield.

Young attacker Layton Ndukwu has been named in Kenny Swain’s squad for the fixture, which will take place at Kidderminster Harriers FC and be broadcast live on Sky Sports (KO 7.35pm).

Ndukwu is an attack-minded player who can operate well off either flank or through the middle and has been with Leicester City’s Academy set-up since Under-9s level.

The youngster is in fact still part of the Under-15s set-up in City’s Academy and is the latest in a string of talented prospects to earn their international stripes for their respective nations in youth international football recently.

As well as Ndukwu, young City midfielder Darnell Johnson has also been drafted into the squad after initially being named on the standby list for the fixture.

England U16 Squad:

Goalkeepers: Connor King (Burnley), Ryan Sandford (Millwall).

Defenders: Danny Collinge (MK Dons), Benjamin Cull (Southampton), Ro-Shaun Oman Williams (Manchester United), Reece Oxford (West Ham United), Ben Sheaf (West Ham United), Charlie Wakefield (Chelsea), James Yates (Everton).

Midfielders: Liam Bell (Newcastle United), Tom Davies (Everton), Jacob Maddox (Chelsea), William Patching (Manchester City), Christopher Willock (Arsenal), Darnell Johnson (Leicester City).

Forwards: Rishian Hepburn-Murphy (Aston Villa), Kaylen Hinds (Arsenal), Layton Ndukwu (Leicester City), Adam Phillips (Liverpool).

Is George Taft still making sub appearances for York..........

What a fall from grace when people talked him up to be an England Captain

I think he's back now? Haha

I must admit I don't recall the hype about Taft, was it on here?

That's got to be Thraician. If someone was in our youth team they were inevitably 10 times the player that was in the first team position...

I thought this. Never heard any of the stuff about him being as good as that although did hear many people say he'd be in our team one day.
