24 points, maybe a touch optimistic but just don't see us losing any of those games, the away days at Watford and Brighton will be tough but after performances away this season I feel we fan go away and grind out points.

Tha would leave us on 47 points after 20 games and almost mathematically safe from relegation ;) and half way to an automatic promotion total!

Awful threadage....why try and predict the next quarter?.

In fact lets all start predicting the quarter of our lives and move on to death a little quicker!!

These type of threads are created by routine bores. The type that despise a bit of spontaneous activity in their mapped out boring little existence....

I sometimes think there's some on Foxestalk with a footballing death wish as far as our team are concerned.

Last time I saw a thread like I said we should concentrate on each game as it comes and ridiculed the claim that there was no reason we shouldn't win or draw every game.  In the event we hardly won at all in a long spell of abject underperformance.

Now we've started our "Manager of the Month's" October campaign with a needless and souless defeat and I wouldn't be at all surprised if our fragile tower of cards starts to crumble.

Because so far - for all the euphoria of being among the league's leaders, we haven't been especially impressive overall. In fact we've not played as well as during the same period of last season in terms of our entertainment value and philosophical sense of purpose.

Not that I'd imagine Pearson caring much about that. His yardstick seems to be results and, that being the case, I'd imagine he'd want to have improved the team. But I can't see where that's happened or where the inspiration is coming from for anything to change.

Because at 1-0 down and with a long time to go - I didn't see any indication that our management had the faintest idea how to counter Doncaster's tactics. There wasn't even the commitment necessary from anything I saw on the pitch.

We have the players to make a serious challenge but, as ever, I'm not convinced we have either the minds or the ruthlessness to make it happen.

Too often we seem to play at least part of our matches with the brakes on.
