DB11 Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 I'd still like Emporium to open back up not gonna happen though Snibston Discovery Park, well it was quite a niche museum so from reading how much it cost to operate vs. the people that actually used it or the revenue it generated I think makes sense.
Parafox Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Possibly coming soon, closure of the ambulance station
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 You can't blame the council because there aren't enough people using the shops to make them viable. It's happening all over the country, not just Coalville. You're right, the shopping centre built five years ago, here in High Wycombe, has half the shops vacant, and the rest of the town too. The problem is nation wide.
purpleronnie Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Got to give shoppers alternatives to what can be easily found online, and it would help if rates were reduced to encourage new start up's. I believe tax cuts were announced a while ago I hope that happens because if something doesnt change we'll juse see charity shops, bookies and food outlets in our high streets for many years.

Car parking, or at least the cost of it, is annoying for little town centres and is a reason why I don't use the shopping centre in Coalville

Passion/Storm were some of the best days of my life, switched to Glastonbury after that.
Unabomber Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Nah, the opposite of Aldi is Waitrose. Been waiting for ages for someone to reply to that, cheers pal.
RUDZY Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 It is very important that ALL Councils up and down the country realize that they need to offer the Shopper Free Parking in order to compete with online Shopping. Personally i can pin point the demise of the LEICESTER CITY CENTRE when they brought in DOUBLE YELLOW LINES ultimately preventing the casual shopper from entering the city centre - SHOPPING SHOULD BE FUN!
z-layrex Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 My grandparents are from Coalville. I have fond memories as a child of walking with my late grandad in the centre and literally everyone saying hello to him. It feels completely lifeless these days, like another country compared to south east England.
Dr The Singh Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Where's all the poon in coalville go these days?
purpleronnie Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 Where's all the poon in coalville go these days? I spotted your mum at the clock tower.
RUDZY Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 No it's now flats. What about the Clock in the town centre?
Unabomber Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 What about the Clock in the town centre? It's an hour slow.
RUDZY Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I think you will find the history of Coalville originates from a mining industry
Unabomber Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I think you will find the history of Coalville originates from a mining industry this But it's still there - YES? yes rud
Webbo Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 It's an hour slow. Still 20 years faster than the rest of Coalville.
ScouseFox Posted 26 July 2015 Posted 26 July 2015 I think you will find the history of Coalville originates from a mining industry what were they mining?
