It is all about preference, as above, but I do believe Ronaldo is more complete than Messi. But I don't like one over the other, admire them both the same as fantastic footballers.

I can see arguments for Robben and Ribery because they were stand out players for the team that won everything. 

 

But on an individual level Ronaldo is above and beyond everyone (including Messi) at the moment, and has been for a good few months.

In my opinion, there's never been more than a modicum of talent between Messi and Ronaldo. Messi is a phenomenon but you can't deny he has benefited greatly from having Xavi and, in particular, Iniesta behind him pulling the strings. And while Ibra, Bale, Robben and Ribery have all closed the gap, Messi and Ronaldo are still on a whole new plane.

Ronaldo is a shoe-in for this year's Balon D'or and he will definitely deserve it.
