Cincinnati Fox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Steve McClaren will compete with Sean Dyche, Nigel Pearson and Chris Powell for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for October. The new Derby County manager has been named on a four-man shortlisted along with the bosses of Burnley, Leicester City and Charlton Athletic after another exciting month in the second Sean Dyche (Burnley) Five wins out of five made it a perfect October as Burnley moved clear at the top of the Championship, conceding just one goal in the process. Dyche had his players working hard in unison, most notably in the 2-0 win over promotion rivals QPR. Steve McClaren (Derby County) He was not officially in charge for Derby's first match of the month but came down to the dressing room at half-time to help inspire a comeback in the thrilling 4-4 draw with Ipswich Town. The Rams collected seven points from their next three games as McClaren made an instant impact, instilling immediate belief in his new side. Nigel Pearson (Leicester City) Leicester are looking like serious promotion contenders after three wins from four October games - all by a 2-1 scoreline - lifted his team into second place. He has allied flair to a strong work ethic and a powerful structure to maintain their relentless start. Chris Powell (Charlton Athletic) Powell has returned to basics to guide his side through a difficult run of fixtures. Without a clean sheet prior to October, he reshaped his defence to register three of them - against Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool and Wigan Athletic - in an unbeaten month.
sylofox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 To be fair, he probably deserves it. No curse of TMOTM
StanSP Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 There is no curse. Nigel would be deserving of winning it. As would Dyche. Think the Watford victory may sway it in Nigel's favour. But then Burnley did beat QPR so...
Fox92 Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Dyche won it last time, didn't seem to affect him. Just give it him again anyway, but I fear it could be Nige.

StanSP Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 That was November mate Good point! Just seeing who's on the ball on this fine Thursday morning...
foxfanazer Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 1 league loss and beating premiership opposition to get to the quarters. Don't think Dyche is a certainty
NewburyFox Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Got to be Dyche, 100% record in the league. Don't see why cup results are relevant to be honest, should be down to how you perform in the league.
Unabomber Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 Well it look's like winning it definitely cursed Dyche last month, so let's hope that he wins it again.
Dan Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 The cup results will surely have no influence on this?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 7 November 2013 Posted 7 November 2013 The cup results will surely have no influence on this? They don't.

Don't see why cup results are relevant to be honest, should be down to how you perform in the league. It may be divisional but it's not the league manager of the month award, all results are relevant
Hitesh Posted 8 November 2013 Posted 8 November 2013 He has only gone and bloody won it! http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/story-20049200-detail/story.html?
