Again we were tactically outwitted, reminded me of the Charlton game ,Couldn't break down their defence so he took off Knocky, unbelievable mistake! .Shows we are still not  good enough to be promoted

Going through your limited post history, its clear that you have a problem with Pearson.

Think that was because of Forests 6-3-1 formation. Very hard to break down.

I do agree they were hard to break down, they were solid, and didn't give us time on the ball, but we need to learn how to combat these tactics, yes we had chances, but I cannot remember to many clear chances, a lot of half chances, and the penalty miss.

But hey ho onto the next one, and another two weeks to recover from the niggles.

Dyer missing an open goal, Nuges header that went over, another header which was well saved, Schlupps chance in the first half....

Agree with this post. As bad as we were to take off Knockeart, Dyer and Schlupp meant we had no pace or creativity in the team. To then bring on a midfielder and a less than fit Vardy also meant we went too narrow in the second half. Would have liked to see us at least put some balls into their box a lot of our crosses today did not even beat the first man. Pains me to say it but BD did a job on us today and Florist did deserve the win. We need to forget about today and move on. We do need to take our chances though in front of goal.

We're a much better team than them, we just had a bad day at the office we could be there until next week and we still wouldn't score. These things happen it's what happens next that will define us and so far we have bounced back faultlessley every time.

The referee was a willy puller, a total willy puller, but he did give us a penalty and we still couldn't score, so we can't blame him for the defeat.

Forest wanted it more than us, and they got the first goal. These were the main 2 factors.

You have to question why their players seemed more determined than ours. That's not being harsh, they just did look like they were more up for it, they won most tackles and headers and had more energy.

That, to me, is unacceptable. To lose with a whimper against them is nothing short of disgraceful. Do they even realise how much 27,000 of their own fans were paying for this match? Cvnts. Such a far cry from Watford.

Pearson also needs a good clip round the ear - bringing off Knocky for his new bumboy Hammond at 2-0 down. Totally brainless and it summed us up. We were clueless at breaking them down an then he brings off our most dangerous player for a defensive one. Retarded.

One of the worst games I've been to, absolutely horrible, and especially because it was clear that we would lose by half time.

OK We lost but we played very well especially in the first half , and even in the second we made enough chances to get back into it . It seemed to be "just one of those days" .

The thing for me personally is that for the first time in ages , right until virtually the final whistle , I still believed we could get something out of the game because we were so positive .

We're unlucky today to be honest, our defending as been alot worse but it's strange how we've somehow conceded nearly every game this season! Again it was one of those days where every supporter says "We need a striker"

at the expense of sounding like col city fan, today for me exposed one of our main weaknesses, the huge gap between midfeild and defence. only cosed it up when hammomd came on. Nuge could do with a bit of time out the side, seems to have done wood and vardy some good.

drinkwater for me was our match again. won the ball back and tried his best to do stuff with it.

I too thought the substitutions were a bit strange today, taking off both the wing players and Knocky when 2-0 down seemed strange tactics to me. The ball just didn't want to go in for us today, didn't have that touch of luck, every deflection, ricochet, ball that could have gone anywhere ended up at the feet of a forest player. Onwards. Other results around us were helpful!

Has to be said, they were awful! I'm happy to see they won't bother us come may!

They remind me of us of the 2011/12 squad, big named squad full of high earners, on paper they sound exciting but on the field they aren't that special. A team that will be hovering around the play offs but will fall short. At the start of the season i had them down as fifth and would go up via the play offs, after that i think more eighth is more there mark.

I'm surprised by how lightly the referee is getting off.

It was (for a local derby in particular) not a difficult game to referee.

Aside from our penalty, which was as obvious as you can get and was the result of some frankly moronic defending from Forest, there were no big decisions in the game.

What was completely unacceptable was the persistent refusal to give obvious free kicks, particularly for fouls on Dyer and Knockaert down the left (which in the first half was right in front of me). On a couple of occasions these were cynical hacks that should have resulted in bookings and instead resulted in play being waved on. Not to mention the persistent kicking the ball away after the whistle (which, of course, was supposedly a serious enough offence for Kasper to get a second yellow at the City Ground in 2011) and time wasting in the second half which went unpunished.

Knockaert getting booked for demanding Lascelles get booked was petulant, but it is such a ridiculous rule, and such an absurdly ostentatious implementation of it by the referee, just 8 minutes into a game which Forest were already clearly looking to spoil. I used to be firmly on the side of saying that such behaviour was unacceptable and deserved a yellow card, but after years of seeing my team-mates being hacked and kicked to shit and seeing them not being protected by referees, I completely sympathise. Lascelles was cheating - we had a great chance to break and he cynically tripped Drinkwater - we immediately lost the advantage gained in transition, even with the free kick. The free-kick in itself was clearly not sufficient punishment, so for Knockaert to get booked for pointing out the obvious just added insult to injury.

Lascelles shouldn't have been on the pitch past the 25th minute, which was pretty obviously acknowledged by Davies when he came off at half-time.

I'm not seeking to blame Mason for the defeat. Even with his incompetence we were well on top in the first half and were 0-2 down at the break in pretty freakish circumstances. In the second half we were stultified by an extremely well-organised Forest side, which never looked like conceding and looked as impotent on the break as we did in attempting to break them down.

At the end of the day a lot of this game is luck. We weren't cut open at any point by Forest today, even with us chasing the game. They really didn't have any clear shots on goal that came about from anything other than some absurdly poor defending. Today was a complete freak - the second half was an irrelevance after the first period which in no way reflected the pattern of the game.

What was disappointing from our side was Pearson's changes. We were struggling to create anything, so he took Knockaert off. Knocky is not only our most creative player, but he was playing pretty well. Baffling.

Far too early to make these kind of judgements, especially when we put in a performance that would have trashed any Championship side at Vicarage Road last week.

The substitutions were baffling today, taking our two players with pace and the most creative player we've got off and finishing with no wide players was daft.

Also Nugent was rubbish and has been for most of the season it's just masked by the fact he's scored a few penalties.

what a great post, totally agree

I don't think there's anyone that has actually blamed the ref for the defeat today.

Majority in agreement that he was just shit, thought he was above his station and that the game was about him.

I do think the ref upset our early momentum, lacelles was allowed to hack our players down with impunity and he obviously wound up several of our players with his attitude.

Referee was awful, I agree.

Buying your mans dive and giving a penalty, could have cost our lot the game.

Didn't look like a dive to me.
