Guest Col city fan Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 So who is going to win the league then, because QPR lost away at Doncaster, so that rules them out by your logic. Clearly the team who picks up points consistently both home and away? We lost out on promotion last season because of our away form. Look at last season's table. I dont want that to happen again. If you dont like me posting that well, sorry, do I give a shite? I'd rather be honest than do what you seem to do.. ie stamp on anyone being anything other than positive all the time.

And yet so quick to dismiss the fact that we have been pretty decent away from home this year. Losing to the shit teams is better than losing to those around you (if you have to lose at all of course). Instead look at the away record as a whole.

hackneyfox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Is there a need for the Pearsonites to be so defensive tonight, some of us haven't had a chance to chat/discuss/moan/supportderbyorcov for some time? Pearson clearly thinks the result is something to be aware or even worried about, he's never wrong apparently. That Knockart decision doesn't make sense, unless he is actually injured. Well perhaps it does

Here we go again, "awwww you're always positive, I'm just speaking the truth blah blah blah", change the record flip flop. You said teams wanting to win the league should not lose games like this. And yet every other team in the league is losing games like this... So that leaves no ****er to actually win it!!! Picking up points consistently, yep spot on. The top team is usually the most consistent... Who is top, they must be good?

Happy Fox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 We are top on goals scored hardly something to brag about. Key thing is NP recognises that improvements need to be made which is good, it is also cruical that we do strengthen the side in January because you can bet your bottom dollar the likes of QPR will we need to as well.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Tonight was a big game. It was a chance to cement ourselves at the top of the league, in doing so proving to ourselves that we have what it takes to reach the autos. We failed miserably. and this will have a huge psychological effect. We completely fell to pieces last season due to a lack of mental strength. Tonight will remind the whole squad that they are just as weak as they were last year, and I think we're looking at December being a winless month. We'll look back on this as the turning point of our season. Absolutely disastrous result. You're a prat. I wrote lots about why, but deleted it because I had only covered 10% of the reasons. Just go to sleep.
ousefox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 It's this year's equivalent to Barnsley It was no way near that bad don't worry!
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Why do you start discussions and always turn back to this? Because its not been a 'discussion' has it? I simply mentioned away form and the Pearsonites get all sarcastic (now theres a shock) I swear they are worse than the 'anti' brigade!!

So you expected us to be several points clear of QPR, Reading, Forest, Wigan at this stage? Because in all but one case, we are.

Against a constant onslaught from yourself and others who I'm not allowed to name for legal reasons.

Well perhaps it does I'm sure everyone is concerned by the result. But people are mostly defending against the arse talking that takes place after a loss. As you yourself have said, one game at a time. No point in over analysing one game. We're still second in the form table over the last 6, and we're top. As I keep saying, we don't need perfection. We just need to be better than the others over the season.

We're joint top with a team that spent millions upon millions during the summer, and 10 points clear of seventh, we're not exactly doing badly. I agree with the strengthening, although only minor additions/squad players.
deejdeej Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 So downhearted after a result like that. Im pretty sure I'm not the only one that feels really negative after a loss then get over it after a few hours and realise just how well we are doing. Crazy crazy division but you have to love it.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 We are top on goals scored hardly something to brag about. Are you for real?
Monsell1976 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I feel pissed off after sitting through all that traffic, to watch what was a weak, uninspired performance, and lacklustre just doesn't cover it, but yes it is one game, and they need to go out Saturday and win, to repay the thousands that payed good money, and endured terrible traffic to watch that. That is what I hope happens, and not do what we did after Peterborough last season. We all believe we are a different side this year and they can prove that Saturday, by not feeling sorry for ourselfs and bounce straight back
Finnaldo Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Because its not been a 'discussion' has it? I simply mentioned away form and the Pearsonites get all sarcastic (now theres a shock) I swear they are worse than the 'anti' brigade!! But his point about the rest of the teams around us losing is totally legitimate. Why don't you answer that instead of biting back with another irrelevant comment about 'Pearsonites'? And I agree we were absolute shite tonight, and we need to up our game for Brighton, but in the larger picture its one of only four losses this season. Had three of those four came in the last five games I'd be worried, but they haven't and we've been pretty consistent thus far.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Because its not been a 'discussion' has it? I simply mentioned away form and the Pearsonites get all sarcastic (now theres a shock) I swear they are worse than the 'anti' brigade!! C'mon Col, if you can't tell the difference between our away form last season and our away form this, your head's on backwards. Coming back at Ipswich and wasting Watford showed a tactically astute side with mental steel-this isn't the same thing at all. Tonight was a shît result, obviously, and a pretty disappointing performance, but Knocky was clearly hurt, and we still had the better of them for most of the game. Our most disappointing game so far has been Forest, because we knew what they'd do, they did it and we had no answers. That was a home game. If we played Wednesday 10 times, we'd beat them 8, but the Forest game was painful and as many said on the day we could still be playing now and it would be 2-0. Crucially, the match did expose two weaknesses: our defence is nowhere near as watertight as we think it is (especially with Was at RB, which is a bizarre snub to Moore), and we have no cover for Knockeart. I am clearly an NP fan, but with the game as it was I'd have put Nuge on the right and brought Wood up front-I didn't understand Hammond being the choice. Away form is not the issue. Kasper and Wes lacking form, and Was in the wrong position is a big concern, as well as having no cover on RW. We need to go shopping in Jan, and we need to work on Wes and Schmeichel-if it means contracts then I really believe now is the time to gamble with FFP and go all out to keep their focus on the football...
hackneyfox Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 No one has been defending Pearson tonight, they've been defending sanity. Against a constant onslaught from yourself and others who I'm not allowed to name for legal reasons. Constant onslaught? You really do need to calm down.
MC Prussian Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Saturday is massive now to make sure we stop the rot Which rot?

Which we can only really assess at the end of the season, thus rendering your scare-mongering tactics useless. Besides, not anyone who's criticizing you for your remarks is automatically an optimist.
Monsell1976 Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Going back to the original thread, yes it is only one game, but sometimes it's the performance that hurts. After calming down, after what was a crap day from the minute if joining the m1, I just hope that it's a one off, and we bounce straight back, and isn't the start of a prelonged dip, as like we said before, December is a hard month and we cannot afford to play that poorly in the coming months.
