Kitchandro Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I'd take ours over the shitty ground all day. Its an absolute dump, ready for pulling down. About on par with welford road. In what way is it a dump though? It's fine. I hate to say it, but our stadium has nothing decent that they haven't got. It looks far newer, more impressive and cleaner than ours, which for a 11 year old structure, looks shockingly dirty and run down.

Wouldn't say it looks newer, more impressive or cleaner than ours, the only advantage the city ground has over ours is the atmosphere, but with that said theres can be shit at times(what my forest friends say)likes ours(rarely) can be good?
promised land Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Best in this league for me are Loftus Road, Hillsborough and Elland Road. All old grounds with stands close to the pitch, all have original names non of this sponsor shite. But the concourse and toilets at these are poor compared to the newer Lego grounds. The City ground probably has one of the worst concourse, toilet areas of the lot. Best ground I have been to that beats all others by miles is the Emirates, followed by the Etihad. Nothing comes close to these.
AndWhat? Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Better than a boring new Lego stadium but it's still no where near the best in the league. City ground is the best IMO
Ashley Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 at some of these suggestions. Brightons is a lovely stadium. Wouldn't like to chose the 'best stadium in the league though'.
Soup Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Irrelevant really,I'd rather see us win in a flea infested concentration camp than lose in a 5 star all you can drink hotel.
Fox92 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 My favourite/best ground is Anfield. I also like Old Trafford, and my one visit to the Etihad (that great 3-0 win in 03!).

Have you seen ours lately? It looks bloody horrible. Well it always has, but the seats are faded to a horrible colour and it just looks really mucky. IMO their's is far more impressive than ours. They've got a couple of big, really nice looking stands. We've just got one very dull, very boring stand that circles the whole pitch. Considering it's capacity our ground looks so small and insignificant. None of the stands tower over the players like two of them do at the Shitty Ground.
Kitchandro Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Irrelevant really,I'd rather see us win in a flea infested concentration camp than lose in a 5 star all you can drink hotel. I'm the opposite. We will always lose games but I'd rather do it in a place worthy of our club, preferably with a loud, hopeful and passionate atmosphere. The ground should represent the pride and the uniqueness of the club. Ours does the opposite. I feel like we're a boring no mark club with this ground.
justfoxes Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Nah, it looks like a run down dump.Don't you mean as some florist fans describe ours as an ikea flat pack ground ??!!
Fox92 Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I know this is a little moan, but I wish we had something that represented Leicester inside the ground. We used to have that banner of our club legends, I wish that was still up. I also wish we had a stand named after players. I'm sure the East Stand used to be known as somesort of 'Lineker stand' but nothing ever represented it... I know we have the bars downstairs named after players, but stands named after players would be nice... Leeds have Don Revie Stand, Forest have Brian Clough Stand, Utd have Alex Ferguson stand etc.

Besides, ours are hardly worthy of a 4 star hotel. They're tiny and horrible in some areas of the ground, and cramped at half time regardless.

I don't mind our stadium meself, however I wish it had been built how the new den was,4 separate stands in a double decker format?

Kitchandro Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I don't mind our stadium meself, however I wish it had been built how the new den was,4 separate stands in a double decker format? Yeh like I say The Den is the best of a bad bunch out of the new ones IMO. I would have liked something completely unique though. A big Kop end. A two tiered main stand like the Carling or the old main stand at Filbo. Another end stand like the Double Decker shared with away fans. And an impressive East Stand that would be the centrepiece. It's just such a shame. We had a chance to build a lovely modern ground with all the good parts about Filbo thrown in. We cocked it up massively IMO, we play in a generic eyesore.
Kitchandro Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The new den is terrible for atmosphere, I honestly rekon I'd take our ground over theirs! There is too much space between the stands which doesn't help. When I went in league one it felt like we were miles away from the home fans. Also it doesn't help that they don't have any fans and just have a load of chavs giving it the big'un rather than getting behind their team.

Also it doesn't help that they don't have any fans and just have a load of chavs giving it the big'un rather than getting behind their team. That's cause we were miles away! Still makes me laugh when millwall fans charge the away end at the new den when they're in a completely separate stand in the top tier! No idea why stewards are needed either! All my favourite grounds I've been too are favourites because of how much fun I've had in the stands, not cause of how posh the toilets are! Every ground I've been too in Europe comes above any ground in the UK, apart from Ninian park!
Russell sprout Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The new den is terrible for atmosphere, I honestly rekon I'd take our ground over theirs!I'm not on about atmosphere, just the idea of 4 separate stands and in a double decker format that's of a more modern build, not saying I wish we had the new den?
Donut Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 The Den is quite generic too though, all the stands are the same height and of the same design. Its just as generic as the KP. Forest is excellent, which pains me to say it. But there arent many grounds with character in our league. Hillsborough would be one that does have that character though.
Guest ttfn Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 It's great - my favourite stadium in the country.
Munshi Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I know its not Championship but Newcastles ground (Whatever its called now) is lovely.
Neil_LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Don't quite get this love in with the City ground. Has a crappy main stand with pillars . The Stand opposite is as ugly as I have ever seen from the outside. The new Trent end is ok but the opposite end is hideous and just plain weird looking. Hillsborough and Elland Road are miles better .
