Konch frustrated with contracts delay.

Of course they here for the money, the point is that they are very unlikely to get offered more than they are currently earning by any other club.

I'd imagine that for some of them any offers will be significantly less, hence their agents getting jumpy and asking the players to start moaning about the lack of a new contract offer.

It's all a load of bollocks. Konchesky, Nugent and Wes are currently the only ones to come out and speak publicly about this and it's pretty easy to see why.

Konchesky is 33, even if he's offered a new deal it's gonna be short term, he will definitely be on less money whoever he signs for because of his age and FFP, realistically he's only getting the same money if a relegated team go for him which is very unlikely.

Nugent's age isn't so much the problem but again his wage is. The only teams who would be able to offer him terms along the lines of his current deal are again relegated teams. His performances recently have shown he is hit and miss and teams including ourselves might fancy going for youth and seeing how they fare.

Wes Morgan personally I think will leave at the end of the season. He's the only 1 of these 3 who has performed out of his skin week in, week out since he joined us. Relegated clubs would be all over him because he's proven as one of the best Championship centre backs, if not the best. He could get a pay rise somewhere else.

To me it shows the players aren't willing to fight for their contracts and are already thinking about the possibility of playing somewhere else in 6 months time. Doesn't take a genius to see some players effort levels have dropped the closer it's got to January and contracts are all that's being talked about.

Wes Morgan's Mrs is ranting on twitter about people taking paycuts etc.. sounds like Morgan is not happy also

Seriously some ppl are deluded! Who in their right mind would take a big pay cut In their current job for the love of it!!!

And who can honestly say they'd be fine knowing their future wasn't secure! Everyone has bills to pay and families to feed!

Not matter how much you earn, you live to your means! So noones exactly got money to burn! Well maybe some ridiculously rich ppl could?!?

When your happy and secure in your job your more likely to get 100% commitment and job satisfaction! #fact

So give up chirping and start supporting #rantover

A rant and a half.

I understand what she's saying, but currently the club literally cannot offer ANYONE more money. This is because we're still throwing money at the likes of Danns, Gallagher and Wellens.

It's tough, but the players need to be told that the reward is promotion. I understand the mouths to feed argument etc, no one is debating that- but play well, win games and get a contract in the premier league.

My profession is HR, if that's not performance related pay, I don't know what is. This is a business like any other, that's my response to Mr Konchesky and the rest.

If you work hard in your current profession and get results (let's remember that this is probably the most expensive results INDUSTRY), you're very likely to get recognition. This is a clever business move, one that we all face regardless of how much you earn.

FFP has come at the completely wrong time for Leicester City.

I find it hard to believe that the Morgan household struggles to put meals on the table....

Albeit true, I don't think that's what's needed to be said here.

Wes Morgan is the best defender outside the Championship. He's good at what he does so deserves the right to take profession from it. We'd all do it if we could.

It's an area of uncertainty, clearly understood by the players (since Wes' wife has alerted it), but the reward is promotion. This is simple performance related pay.

The contract situation is obviously playing on their minds. This could come and bite the club on their arse if they don't get it sorted.

It's getting ridiculous now, and the players are obviously feeling that too. We're in such a good position and we'd be mad to throw this away as well as not offering players new contracts.

What the **** has she got to do with anything? It's not her business to be spouting shit like this on twitter, fair play she's Wes' wife but why the **** is she getting involved and antagonising the situation? If she knew anything she would know that the club is working within FFP which was not implemented when we signed Wes 2 years ago. If we had got promotion last season then more likely than not he would have been sat here with a bumper new contract and she would have been happy with her new ****ing furniture. Wes is basically gone at the end of the season, he will get a pay rise somewhere. He's showed he is one of the best defenders in this league.

I'll give you one reason Konchesky is worried. Wants the same or more money, only way he'll get that is if we get promotion, but he'd get torn apart every week if we got promoted, there's no way we'd not get a new left back. So he wants a new contract now before he gets let go in the summer.

This is true, but it can get equally sticky if we don't get promoted. Offer Wes a new deal but not Konchesky, Paul gets demotivated. Offer Nugent a new contract and he rests on his laurels. There's so many possibilities.

We're talking about motivators in a money making business, controlled by the financial constraints of FFP.

Right now the club has the power, shouldn't that be our favourable position as fans? What do we think?

She's looking out for her family, like any wife/husband would

Yeah and it's really going to be beneficial to her husband's contract talks when she's spouting off on twitter about only giving 100% commitment when you have a contract secured.

Typical Leicester way. Doing so well this season, look good shouts for promotion and this shoots up mid season. This is clearly having an affect on the team and will continue to do so until something is sorted out. But it doesn't look like anything will be sorted out...

She's just got her husbands best interests at heart. Can't fault her for that can you?

You'd be pretty annoyed if your partner was getting fecked about at work wouldn't you? Of course this is only me going from she has said but it seems pretty clear why she's pissed off.

Not till the accounts have been announced I imagine.

Unreal that like. Call me an idiot, but if you're contract's coming up to an end - then why would it make you perform worse?

Sounds like a sense of entitlement to me. If he wants a pay rise or a new deal then it's time to go and earn it now. It's not like our financial position is a secret to the players.

What Bert says is so true, it's okay going on about how we are fed up of all of this but at the end of the day those players are the ones who are responsible for our league position, this can not be doing them any favours at all?

It's hardly gonna work in Wes' favour in contract talks is it though? Stating you only get 100% commitment when your contract is secure and antagonising the fan base of the club he plays for. The club are in a lose-lose situation here, realistically not all of the players out of contract are going to be offered new deals and if they start handing out certain players contracts and not to others then the situation develops where people stop trying, look to get transferred in January and generally shit hits the fan. We don't have a big enough squad to deal with 3+ first teamers getting the arse at not being given a new contract.
