Konch frustrated with contracts delay.

Not being funny, we've done well all season and cannot fault the team, however we've just 2 in a row, it's potentially going to be our 'dip' in form with the 2 teams above us coming in the next couple of games, with Manchester City, I think it's a fair observation to say it could be a dip in form.

Don't get me wrong the players wanna know where their future lies, but really it comes down to them.

They are the ones who can get this club promoted, they play well, they win games we get promoted and most of them who are out of contract you would think would get it renewed.

On the other hand even if we don't get promoted they should be looking at 'putting themselves in the shop window' focus on that.

Keep your mouth shut, get on with it, rewards will come either way.

What the **** has she got to do with anything? It's not her business to be spouting shit like this on twitter, fair play she's Wes' wife but why the **** is she getting involved and antagonising the situation? If she knew anything she would know that the club is working within FFP which was not implemented when we signed Wes 2 years ago. If we had got promotion last season then more likely than not he would have been sat here with a bumper new contract and she would have been happy with her new ****ing furniture. Wes is basically gone at the end of the season, he will get a pay rise somewhere. He's showed he is one of the best defenders in this league.

unfortunately you can get wifi in the kitchen.

But they new it was coming and what the rules would be.

It's not just been dropped on everyone the club/owners gambled and lost.

She also has every right she said nothing we don't know but she is hitting out at people having a go at her.

I said the other week when the last one of these came up the owners are playing a dangerous game.

The sooner people realise this the better.

Who knows. Football is a funny old game. Player power rules these days.

FFP has swung the pendulum the other way somewhat.

LCFC must know that these players, especially Konch will struggle to get anything like the level of pay they are on anywhere else.

There's plenty of people these days in 'ordinary' jobs on limited time contracts who don't know until late on whether it will be renewed.

No it's down to the manager who he wants here nxt season.

OH but our owners can't even sort his contract out.

I've said for a while this is a game our owners need to sort come Jan half our squad will be looking for the off.

A contract with anyone is better than fvck all with us.

They could offer all the players a contract you get X if we are in the prem a Y if we are in the championship.

It don't even sound like they have even spoke to any of the players.

You would all be getting pissed off if your job was up in the air like this.

If someone else come in for you in jan you would be off better than waiting and ending up with nothing.

Morgan is on between £12-15k a week i believe. He was on half that at Forest, someone close to him that  i know told me he doubled his salary when he joined us.

Hardly struggling to make ends meet, but probably worthy of another 2 year contract, which is more than can be said for Konchesky or Nugent...

I think I (and most) would take a pay cut if I felt settled in a job I "loved" and thought it unlikely that any of the business' competitors could/would pay me more.

That is where Wes' mrs is wrong. Otherwise she is spot on.

Nothing to stop the club offering Wes and Nugent a 2-tiered deal - one for champ and one for Prem. Given the sensitivity of the club's wage bill in the age of FFP I can't believe that this isn't the case for everyone already.

As for Konchesky? Good player but at 32 if he thinks he's getting anything other than a pay-cut he's insane. However I think his (and the others') gripe is more that there appears to have been no communication which is plain wrong.

Well with FFP I actually don't think that's the case now Bert. Player power was ruling and it's not now IMO, I personally am delighted with that and if they are that mercenary then sorry but I say cheerio. Ridiculous wage demands putting clubs in danger and pricing fans out of the game is the real danger not the bleatings of overpaid prima donnas. I honestly feel play for your contract or fook off.

Maybe you're right in some aspects.

But players coming out with stuff like this is another aspect of player power I think. They're inadvertently trying to push these contract talks along, not waiting for when the club is ready if you understand what I mean.

The owners are hardly likely to offer a new contract to a manger who has yet to achieve what he was asked to do, gain promotion.

Why would they offer a player a contract at X if we get promoted if they don't want to keep that player, better to wait and see where we are.

Indeed I do, however, I feel they are on the back foot and Agents/Players definitely don't "hold the Aces" anymore. I actually think it's more of a desperate plea than a threat in this climate!

Again, easier said than done. It's quite clear that 'waiting and seeing' isn't sitting right with some of these players.

I think some of the players need to shut up and get on with their football to be brutally honest.

What antagonises the situation is Stringer and the Mercury Journo's asking the same question about contracts every week. Stupid bastards don't realise they will get exactly the same response and causes this sort of disharmony. How about letting the lads get on with it instead of asking them about their contract every interview.

offer them a new contract with clause

not promoted 50% cut, promoted, match current or slight increase

add relegation clauses

as they won't want to risk the cut, add a clause that they can leave for free in July, but if they don't leave by 1st August then they honour new contract, if they aren't willing to work with something like this, they aren't too fussed about staying and we'd be better off without them

Good idea don't do fvck all let other clubs make a move and sort there future out.

Then where ever we are next season we are going to need a whole squad.

As we won't have money to spend whoever the manager is will have loans and free's thats all.

The longer it goes on every players will think we don't want them and there minds will not be on winning games for us.

Oh and after the players have gone and NP walks what sort of manager do you think we will get with FVCK all to spend.

What a fool proof plan you put together.

I wouldn't be sorry to see Konchesky go anyway. Another overpaid Sven signing who doesn't represent value for money.

Even though he's been arguably our most consistent defender for most of this season?

Wes' misses making it out like they would be struggling if Wes was only offered £5k a week.

I'd say that Wes earns more in a month than most people earn a year.

I get that taking a paycut is something nobody wants to do but losing 25% or whatever of a £10k+ Per week job is a lot different to losing 25% of a £500 per week job.

Wes' wife doesn't know how easy she has it.

I'm judging him over the course of his contract. In today's climate, Konch is not good enough for what he's (allegedly) paid. I won't be sorry if he goes.

As much as I like Konchesky at times i just find him not worth his wages, he's not getting any younger and i actually think we could find somebody almost as good or even better as him with smaller wages.

That's fair enough. All I want is players here that want to play for our club.

Personally if I was offering players contracts at Leicester. This is how I would go about it.

Contract 1. The Premiership/Promotion contract. We go up you'll have a wage rise and be on £????

Contract 2. The Championship/We don't go up contract. You'll remain on your current wage and/or have to take a pay cut.

Take it or leave it. Obviously this only applies to players that are nearing the end of their current deals.

Not sure you would find many of them at any club.

Playing football for money yes not for a particular club and not at our level.

Even home grown players at our level want off if a bigger club comes in.

The only one I can really think of is Stevie G who turned down the russian millions to stay at Liverpool.

They all want to be at the club that pays them the most and all would go for another 5k a week.

Really? He is so over rated here, he gets a round of applause if he puts the ball out of play.

We should be more bothered about knockaert leaving who is best player we have had for donkey's years or Liam Moore who has been dropped for no reason.

Even though he's been arguably our most consistent defender for most of this season?
