Muslims allow to REFUSE to sell Pork and Alcohol in M&S Stores

Disgusting. This country has gone ****ing soft. If you choose to live and work in this country, you abide by our values and ways. If you don't like it, you know what you can do.

Edit - Let me just add, I dont mean the above in a discriminatory way, but if muslim staff have issues with handling staple foods in this country, they shouldn't be in a job that puts them in that position. Why should they be given special treatment compared to everyone else?

What if you're a British Muslim?

its in the mail so I'll take it with a pinch of salt, but didn't they think before they applied for the job that they may have to handle pork products and alcohol? Seems a bit of a silly policy to me but if that's what M&S want to do then so be it.

Then dont choose to do a job where you are put in that position. I am all for different religions/faiths living together, but things like this build barriers and prevent intergration. Would you be happy if you tried to pay for items, only to be told you have to wait another 5 minutes and go to another till because they dont want to serve you? Id be fuming. Basically being held to ransom.

As long as the same could apply to any Vegetarians, Vegans and people who are Teetotal that would want the same then I don't think it's a problem really. They're not actually stopping you buying it.

Except the same doesnt apply does it? If a vegetarian tried refusing to serve a customer meat, they would be sacked for misconduct. Everyone is terrified of the race card being pulled out if Muslims are offended and subsequently people bend over backwards. Where does it it stop? Technically every category you mentioned above should have the same policy, but the fact is they dont.

lol. Not really ransom is it?

Just means you have to wait a few extra minutes. Big deal. If you're in that much of a rush, use the self-service checkouts. That was you don't have to deal with the problem of potentially being served (or not) by a Muslim.

I do agree that it can provide some obstacle - but it's not like you can't buy the product at all. It's a bit far-fetched that it has come to this, of course. I personally think it's a bit silly because the staff aren't exactly being forced to drink the alcohol or eat the pork. But as a consumer, such a big deal does not have to be made.

It doesn't really make much difference to shoppers but if true it does highlight how ridiculous Muslims are.

Yep. Every singly Muslim is ridiculous.

And how do you know the same doesn't apply?

come on, you think a vegetarian would not get sacked for refusing to sell meat.

If there was evidence to prove it then I would believe it.

If it did, then there would be no-one left serving. You would have to apply it to jewish people, Sikhs, vegetarians, vegans etc etc. Suddenly everyone can claim they dont want to sell this and that because they dont believe in it. The list would go on and on until it became absolutely stupid. Once you introduce a policy like this, where does it stop?

I want someone to actually prove it rather than randomly speculate.

er, yeh, that is one of the main beliefs of Islam is it not?

Are you suggesting that most Muslims aren't that sensitive? lol

A few people who happen to be muslims are alledged to have resused to sell certain items and the whole lot are stereotyped. Typical of the British press.

It's M&S's business, don't know why anyone else would be interested.

This isn't just any refusal, this is an M&S refusal.

Every Muslim isn't that ridiculous. And most Muslims that I've come across (a lot) are not that sensitive and really wouldn't give a shit about this kind of thing.
