Erm, since I posted this I have received a pay rise. I um-ed and ah-ed about posting this because it just sounds like I'm bragging (which I guess I am, sorry) but it just seemed like a strange coincidence. Maybe my employers read Foxestalk? I guess you could say this is entirely down to Moosebreath. THANKS

Fcuking show off!!!! X

About 12k as I'm only an agency worker. Really struggle to make that stretch out month to month.

Think this is the year I really need to knuckle down and kiss goodbye to the social life a little bit.

I'm a hard worker but I just can't save money

40k+, but **** me is my job stressful

lol

I did a 40k job for about two years. Actually, the money wasn't worth the stress. Constantly on call, shit to sort out from start to finish. It was very nice earning biggish money, but Im happier now.

There is a reason some jobs pay better than others that's for sure. It's not just the skills , you have to be able to handle pressure responsibility and people as well as delivering the actual work.

Thats too simple I think.

Who you are working for makes a major difference.

To be honest it often seems like a total lottery.

Actually that isn't true. Salary is based on a multitude of factors.

I think there's a lot to be said for extra pay for a job where you can't go home and forget about it until the next time you clock in.

Shift leader in the automotive industry - just under 25k basic but haven`t hit under 30k since 2006/7.

I`d like to add that money aint everything, I was a happier and healthier person before I was promoted and if I could go back to the days of less money and less stress I would...

Walk out.

Just do it.

Tell them to go screw themselves, moon your boss in front of the staff and tell them you're off to enjoy the romance of an itinerant poet. You have no need of the dirt money from the commercial routine of corpulant enterprise gained from sucking the essential life force out of each and every employee. You won't wait around until the Pole who has replaced you is looking over his shoulder at the Romanian walking in through the door. A simple life with the wind in your hair, the grass between your toes... the meadow is your kitchen and the stream is your bathroom, the starry skies the canopy above your bed. You'll never want for anything and you will not have a care in the world!

Trust me, you will have the full support of everyone here on FoxeTalk. Especially Rincewind.

We'll miss you. :(

Between 35k to 40k which isn't bad considering I'm 25 but I did work my bollocks off doing ACA for 3 and a half years.

Money doesn't matter, as long as you are happy is the main thing - cliche or not!!!
