OxfordshireFox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 This situation with the contracts really worries me, if its not sorted out it could be our downfall. Wes has already said he's unhappy and might move. The club needs to sort this out as it is getting ridiculous and we are looking at a mass exodus of our best players (Morgan, Dyer, Schmeichel etc)
dayday Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 This situation with the contracts really worries me, if its not sorted out it could be our downfall. Wes has already said he's unhappy and might move. The club needs to sort this out as it is getting ridiculous and we are looking at a mass exodus of our best players (Morgan, Dyer, Schmeichel etc) Just been reading about Wes Morgan, who is not happy that he may well have to wait to the summer for a new contract,,....he goes on saying i have to think about my family and with numerous players out of contract, it could open the door for other clubs to come and sign him, thats all we bloody need when we are top.
Happy Fox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/451906/Wes-Morgan-worried-about-a-mass-exodus-at-Leicester-City Wes Morgan worried about a mass exodus at Leicester City LEICESTER captain Wes Morgan is worried that the Foxes’ squad will be broken up unless new contract talks begin quickly with 11 players and the manager. By: Ian Baker Published: Sat, January 4, 2014 0Comments FEARING THE WORSE: Wes Morgan [ACTION IMAGES] Morgan, striker Dave Nugent, keeper Kasper Schmeichel, winger Lloyd Dyer, boss Nigel Pearson and seven others will all become free agents in the summer unless things change. Although they cannot talk to English clubs, they can now discuss moves with sides from overseas. And that is a real worry for centre-back Morgan. Leicester are four points clear at the top but no talks have taken place on their future. Morgan said: “Ideally, we want to get things sorted as soon as possible as other teams will be looking at all the players out of contract, wondering if they can nab them. You must put it to the back of your mind. But it is down to the people upstairs in terms of what they want to do. OUT OF CONTRACT: Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson [GETTY] we want to get things sorted as soon as possible as other teams will be looking at all the players out of contract, wondering if they can nab them Wes Morgan “I want to stay. But, while the contract situation is not sorted, it is an opportunity for other teams to come in. I have to think about my family. “There are a lot of boys thinking the same about wanting to get it sorted. But nothing has happened. “What we have done so far is fantastic and we want to keep the same set of boys. “But it is out of our hands and up to the people in charge to get things sorted.†The lack of talks is unsettling players as they head for Stoke in the cup today. “Whether it worries me or not, I have no control over the situation,†said Pearson. “But if we do well, then I’d like to think things will take care of themselves.â€
MC Prussian Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 The club will be well aware of this situation, but there's nothing we as fans can do other than be patient and observe events to unfold. Even though we're in top spot in the league, things can change quickly in the Championship and I can only guess the management team wants more reassurance that we're still competing for promotion in the next four to eight weeks. It'll all come good.
foxfanazer Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Bit unprofessional of Wes to come out with this publicly
ollielawrence Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Very unprofessional to do this in the press... Especially from our captain!! Problem is if we are promoted we need better value for money... A lot of these players will be moved on. They aren't good enough for the premiership. It's only oversea's teams too that can sign these players... English teams can't look at our players that are out of contract until the end of the season when we know which league we'll be in! From my point of view the owners know a lot of these players are on stupid wages... And therefore if we end up in the championship they don't provide good value for money... It's business! To the players get your head down and carry on performing and earn these new contracts! All of them are going to the press and trying to force the owners hands... Do your talking on the pitch! Only person I'd want to be signed up now would be NP, SHAKY AND SW. I trust them to overhaul the squad if all of the players do leave.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 BUT.... Bye Wes no ifs no buts. Pearson first, players second, your on much better money than at the tress, mind you I am surprised that there is not a option for the club to extend for 12 months on the players contracts
Happy Fox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Wes Morgan can f**k off any player that wants to go, can all f**K off, no matter how good they are.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 I think they'll be more unsettled if the club only offered them half of what they are now on!! Greedy footballers and agents.
Leicester Lass Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Wes Morgan can f**k off any player that wants to go, can all f**K off, no matter how good they are. You clearly missed this part of the quote: 'I want to stay.'
Happy Fox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 You clearly missed this part of the quote: 'I want to stay.' You clearly missed the part "But" apologies for being defensive.
Leicester Lass Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 You clearly missed the part "But" You said any player that wants to go can f**k off. Morgan clearly says he wants to stay, as he has done on a number of occasions in previous interviews. Wanting to leave and being forced to look elsewhere for the good of your family are two very different things.

Morgan clearly says he wants to stay, as he has done on a number of occasions in previous interviews. Which is fine but don't think our captain should be coming out with this publicly when we are top of the league
Fox 4 Life Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 I think the owners are playing a very risky game. I totally understand why the players are pissed off, especially if new faces are coming in.

Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Wes Morgan can f**k off any player that wants to go, can all f**K off, no matter how good they are. This situation is hardly the players fault is it?. Everyone wants stability in their job
Fox 4 Life Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 How is he being forced? it is out of his own volition to look elsewhere. They might be footballers but if your job was "ending" in 6 months I'm pretty sure you would be looking at getting something sorted
Leicester Lass Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 How is he being forced? it is out of his own volition to look elsewhere. To be honest, I knew my use of 'being forced' wasn't right, I just couldn't think of a different way of saying it. Either way, I don't think we need to worry about Morgan, or anyone else, leaving because I just can't see it happening. Especially as there can be no talks with English clubs at this stage. It's totally unprofessional of Wes to come out with comments like this, that much I can agree with. The club can't expect anything different to have happened though, as Stringer has had a bee in his bonnet about the contracts for a while and now other media have picked up on it. I suppose we've just got to hope it doesn't rock the boat too much.
Happy Fox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 They might be footballers but if your job was "ending" in 6 months I'm pretty sure you would be looking at getting something sorted Well it is up to him, but personally I would keep my gob shut and focus on achieving promotion and then the rewards will come I wouldn't throw a hissy fit.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 They might be footballers but if your job was "ending" in 6 months I'm pretty sure you would be looking at getting something sorted This
The Guvnor Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 For some players who only have short contracts remaining, the prospect of promotion is almost a perverse incentive. Those players would realise they may not fit into plans for a premiership team, so of course some will be apprehensive. I am not suggesting however that Wes fit's into that category, just a general observation.
KFS Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 'The owners are playing a risky game' My stance is that throwing out contracts to the current squad is equally as risky. As previously mentioned, Wesley, it's all well and good going into the media and saying this, but they can't throw you a contract whilst we've got the likes of Konchesky etc expecting one too. We've seen the backlash of his Mrs on Twitter at the prospect of offering him a reduced deal, so what's the point even going there? There's an area of uncertainty surrounding the club, shut the fvck up and get playing. As for the media, why ask the same fvcking question every week? Morons feeding morons.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 This situation has hardly effected the teams performance, if anything it might've helped....
davieG Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 You'd have thought that players performing so well in successful team would have sufficient confidence in their own abilty to know they'll easily get a new contract at the end of the season either with lcfc or some other championship team. Of course it wont be as lucrative as their current one unless it's with a pl team. So they should knuckle down, get us promoted and show all prospective employers how valuable they are. A promotion on their cv wnt do themany harm either.
