Spiritwalker Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 A Radio Leicester caller said they are the best striker partnership since Lineker and Smith. After giving this some thought I have to agree. Can anyone think of better, taking into account how well they link up?
Haydos Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 On this form I would have to agree. If they carry on until the end of the season then they will be up there. Obviously heskey and cottee hope that position right now but Vards and Nuge look unplayable at times.

But I agree, their link up play and understanding of each other is priceless. It's something that doesn't come around too often!

nlukka Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 I thought Dickov and Deane were pretty good, as well Howard and Fryatt in L1. But both of those were big-man little-man partnerships. Vardy and Nugent have excellent work rate, energy and have formed a fantastic understanding with one another. In particular I thought some of their link-up play today was the best they've produced, all their hard work in training seems to be paying off. Thought it was telling that when they both went off you could see how much more time Derby had on the ball in defence (granted we'd slowed things down by then), but you can see the intensity they play at.

I agree but I'm glad both were given a bit of a rest because they put in one hell of a shift tonight! I'm sure Chris Wood must have been sat there on the bench thinking it's going to be a long wait to get back in the starting 11.
