beemeroo Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 I'm not seeking validation, perhaps I'm just here to discuss football with opposition fans as I'm at work and extremely bored, and it's also interesting to hear other fans opinions on my team, the upcoming game and how it's going to fold out? Get a grip. Are you the sarcastic, arrogant douche that every forum seems to have? I'm going to assume you are. I wouldn't say that. I'm just not sure I'd have the inclination to visit another team's forum, tell them they're average and about to get tactically outclassed, regardless of how friendly your tone is.
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 BoroWeasel.... your recent run of form could very easily be a false dawn. Your team, though bouyed by Karanka is pretty average to be fair. I'm surprised that Mowbray didn't make it better. In reality, he seemed to take you backwards. I have little fear about playing you on Saturday and I reckon you'll be impressed with how we are playing. You're coming down to earth with a bump my friend. 3-1 Leicester City
BoroWeasel Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 I wouldn't say that. I'm just not sure I'd have the inclination to visit another team's forum, tell them they're average and about to get tactically outclassed, regardless of how friendly your tone is. But I've literally never said anything like that, at no point have I said it's a certainty we'll win, if I'm honest I think it's going to be a draw and I've said that like six times. Maybe if you actually read my posts properly you'd see that I'd said nothing but good things, I didn't think Leicester would be up there start of the season (I'm sure many of you didn't) and I said that I think it's a team playing well and not a team full of star individuals, what's bad about that?

I agree our team isn't that strong, but on paper I wouldn't have said yours was either, but you play great football and Pearson is doing a good job. We're only 2-3 players away from becoming a really good side. I agree, Mowbray did take us backwards, he was good for getting rid of high earners and he made some astute signings like Adomah, Carayol, Ledesma etc but he just had no man management. I'm already impressed, how can you not be impressed with the league leaders, it speaks for itself! I'm just saying we're a better side than you might think and that's it going to be a good game mate
foxfanazer Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 If you beat us on Saturday you should be really chuffed with your team. I think you'll learn a lot more about us this weekend and then maybe some of these names that you think look average on paper will stick in your mind in future Hopefully you don't sign Essien in the meantime

I know rate Nugent (finisher, just what we need) Morgan, Drinkwater, Vardy (wanted him to come to Boro) and Schmeichel of course. Haven't seen enough of Moore or Knockaert to rate them! Am I missing anyone? Haha, I wouldn't worry about that Essien rumour, although I wish it was true
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Are you the sarcastic, arrogant douche that every forum seems to have? I'm going to assume you are. No that's me, but I do have a soft spot for our games with Boro from the MON period, we seemed to have some good games back then. Have to say your results do stand up and welcome to the KP but if you park the bus your screwed and if you try to out play us like derby .... Best of luck to you, go long like Bolton and try and out score us sounds your best plan, or kick us off the pitch.

Yeah mostly good memories for you, our record vs Leicester is terrible If we'd still had Mowbray in charge we'd probably try pass it around and get battered 4-0. Just have no idea how this game is going to go really but we are capable of upsets, like against Cardiff last year.
BoroWeasel Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 We tend to play best when DeLate is playing :-) and Dyer is nothing to worry about I only know De Laet for his Pompey days where he impressed but wasn't sure how good he'd got, we were linked with him same time as you guys. By the sounds of it we missed out

In this league anything is possible but as we have shown of late, FOXES NEVER QUIT is back and on a good day we are awesome

By the sounds of it we missed out De Laet is quality, but I'm not sure he'll be fit which will be a huge miss for us. He's rapid.

By the sounds of it we missed out He's bit of an odd one, made of glass but his pace and the cover he gives to the French kid is first rate, puts in a mean cross as well. I think people are starting to understand his game more now. Can be a little suss on his tackling but I have seen worse. IMO he's one of our best players and in full flight with the ball a dream to watch
BoroWeasel Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 De Laet is quality, but I'm not sure he'll be fit which will be a huge miss for us. He's rapid. Here's hoping! There's a chance Adomah might not be fit for the game but I think it's likely he'll play. We'll have a far less chance of winning if he isn't. Hows your fullbacks, will they be able to deal with Carayol/Ledesma and Adomah well? _Fatboyslow_ Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 As long as we don't get a ref like a couple of years back when you kicked us off the pitch ....,, ?? Was that the my mates the ref game ?

Nah.. they blow too hot and cold to be considered good players.I like Leadbitter. He always seems a solid performer. Thats it though for me.

How is Carayol doing these days mate? I see he's bagged a few recently. Is he blowing hot and cold depending on whether he looks like he can be bothered like he did at Bristol Rovers? Just asking because I wanted us to sign him (when it looked like Dyer was being slowly dropped out and before we had discovered Anthony Knockaert) after watching him a few times for the Gas. Was excited to see how he'd do after a big step up but he kept getting injured last year. Will he be starting at the weekend? Could cause Konchesky (or Wasyl if he's playing right back) a lot of problems if he's on form.

Babylon Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Boro were very capable under Mowbray first half of last year (like us), they passed it around well. If the new manager has added a high pressing game to that, and a more lethal streak up front then it could be a very tough game. In fact it most probably will be. It was from this point onwards last year that teams stopped trying to beat us and just started shutting up shop, already this year we've seen teams who press and give us little space often have the most joy. I also think we struggle with teams that drop a striker off to play between out midfield and defence as it pulls our CB's all over the place. If they attack us though all guns blazing and go for an open game... well, I'm sure they saw the Derby game.
Guest ttfn Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 There's a lot of people talking like we're Barcelona. Any sort of win would be a fantastic result against a team in the sort of form Boro are in. I know we're in great form too but since Karanka has come in their results are as impressive as anybody else's. If Boro turn up and play to their potential we're going to have to be at 100% to get the result.
