FoxTrott Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I feel more confident that we will beat these than I felt before we played Leeds. We are at home, where we've recently looked unplayable. I haven't seen Middlesborough this season but solely on the basis of how we are playing, I'd say 3-1 (Vardy, Dyer, KP).
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Borough are improving but remain an average Championship side. We are top, at home and should beat them. I'd be surprised if we lose to Borough.
foxfanazer Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I'm far more confident about this one than I was against Leeds. Any team that comes to KP needs to be at the very top of their game and hope we have an off day which we rarely do at home
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 They don't play wing backs. In fact, their LB Friend has recently been told not to attack as much, probably contributing to their recent run of clean sheets. 4-2-3-1 formation expected. Only passing on what a fan told me, either way it will be interesting. I think some one else posted Stevie C said it was 4321, either way we will test them. Who have they played recently ?
CosbehFox Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Very tough. My fear is that Leeds showed the division a way of playing against Leicester what works. Remember Derby away and that second half performance? However, get the feeling a Boro side with confidence will suit us. Hopefully De Laet is fit, his pace would help neutralise Boro's biggest threat.

I think some one else posted Stevie C said it was 4321, either way we will test them. Who have they played recently ? They've definitely been playing 4-2-3-1. Given Varga-Ayala-Williams-friend Leadbitter-whitehead Ledesma-emnes-adomah Kamara Something along those lines anyway. Woodgate in if Rhys Williams is sold to Swansea, Chalobah could play instead of whitehead, Adomah missed last weekends game so Carayol could play, and maybe Juke upfront. They've beaten Burnley, Reading, Charlton, Blackpool, drew with Bolton thanks to a last minute Bolton equaliser, and they beat someone else who I can't remember. They're on a good run and keeping clean sheets, including against Burnley and Reading, so it won't be easy.

Mark_from_USA Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 The surface at the KP is the reason we can pass the ball with speed and confidence. Best pitch in the league. Yes but we just signed that Coventry groundskeeper. Its the beginning of the decline. In 3 years we'll be League 2, King Power will be re-posessed, and Leicester will be playing on the pitch at Coalville. Mark my words.

Happy Fox Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 http://www.oneboro.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=6013&page=3 If they play 4-2-3-1 they are in for a tough game!
BoroWeasel Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Greetings foxy friends, boro fan here obviously. Really looking forward to this one, I think it's gonna be a tight and I think we're either gonna scrape a win or it'll be a high scoring draw, probably 2-2. We're in amazing form right now and we've had Kei Kamara out injured as well, Kei should be back for this game so we finally have a decent striker playing, better than relying on Jutkiewicz. For people asking for what formation we play, we play a variation, Karanka likes to change it up between 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 and 4-3-2-1, can see us playing 4-3-2-1 against you as that would be a very Mourinho thing to do and their is similar management styles. Honestly not sure who's Leicester big threats are, nobody in your team particularly stands out to me apart from Nugent and big Wes, who's your biggest threats? Our biggest threats are obviously Adomah, Ledesma and Carayol, if Emnes decides to turn up then you could be up for a real game as well. However Adomah picked up a knock recently so we're not entirely sure if he'll play, but it's likely that he will Nice forum by the way, if you wanna post on a boro forum then http://www.oneboro.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=6 is your only option, all the others are filled with aggressive morons

If you come and try to spoil the game like forest did, you have a chance (albeit a small one). Hopefully a good game against two in form teams. 3-1 city Nuge x 2 and Dyer Juke for you

I noticed that you, along with a lot of people on your forum, suggest a 2-2 scoreline - if it actually ends up 2-2, it'll be fishier than a haddock's pants. "The other winger" your forum referred to is Knockaert, who is due a good game and will, I think, be a handful. Home win 2-1 for me.

No offence intended but looking at Leicester's team i'm really surprised to see you guys doing so well, I guess more of a team than a team of star individuals :3 I could just see us leading 2-1 for a while then Nugent scoring a flukey goal in the last couple of minutes, we love conceding late! Welcome. If you come and try to attack us on Saturday you will lose. Don't mean it in an arrogant way but that is our style. Hopefully a good game against two in form teams. 3-1 city Nuge x 2 and Dyer Juke for you Naww we won't go for the jugular, we just aren't that type of team. We'll play how we did vs burnley, we played solid defensively, stopped Ings and the gang from creating chances and hit them on the counter attack and scraped a 1-0 win. It was very Mourinho esque and I'm sure that's how we're going to play vs you, reading by comments on this forum sounds like that's the kind of thing you struggle against?
1964FOX Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 We struggle against teams who park the bus. Trying to counter attack us has been a dangerous tactic as that's when teams expose themselves to us. Best option is to try and cut out our midfield or set pieces.

BrummieFOX Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 A little off topic but, does anyone remember playing 'Boro at Filbert St probably in the late 90's and their end all staying in the stand at half time and they sang Carnival de Paris for the whole of half time? I thought it was brilliant at the time and haven't seen another team do anything like it. Anyway, this should be a tough game. We've got enough for the win but it's a huge ask to win 7 on the bounce, especially in a week where we have 3 games. I think it's a big plus that we've only got a short trip to Birmingham mid-week.

Happy Fox Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Well it's gotta come to an end for one of us! Or you know, erm, a draw. We don't draw very often we have 3 draws you on the other hand have 9. Sorry Boro it is a win for us!

Bluetintedspecs Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 I wouldn't be so confident got away with at Leeds scum, think you're due a loss! It's never that easy in this league Believe me Boro there are lots on this forum who are far from confident. Personally I think this will be a tough game as your form suggests, however if we are at our best, ala Derby game, you will be in for a torrid time.In answer to your earlier question, Players to look out for are: Kasper, De Laet, Morgan,Moore, Konchesky,Knockaert, Drinky,James,Dyer, Nugent & Vardy and if you are making it difficult for us a choice of Phillips,Wood, Mahrez (Unknown Quantity as yet) or King to change the game. I'm thinking 3-1 win for us as we are at home and confidence is sky high, time will tell though.
